She's classed as mother of the house. I thought her comment about receiving more hate and threats than all female MPs put together, was in poor taste.

So events should only be allowed based on how much money they bring in rather than freedom of religion? Will you be advising the same for the Big Church Festival?

I guess the Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival should be cancelled? 210,000 festival goers there. It runs for 11 days.

The police fan the flames by being inconsistent. Either always refer to sex, nationality, colour as early as possible or never refer to it. It's their 2 tier approach that whips people up.

Or the Farnborough Airshow! Weeks of road restrictions before, during and after.

Agreed. It's a shame they couldn't add in a word or two of thanks that lives were saved.

It has a massive impact on the local village. Roads closed. Reduced access. I don’t think you’re really that concerned about the ‘impact on villages’ tbh.

When parliament is sitting, my MP spends Mon - Thurs in Westminster, then on Fri/Sat/Sun she's holding surgeries in the towns across my constituency, and attending galas and open days. She works in the evenings if she's up here and not in London for any reason in the week, going to town council meetings and stuff like that.

During recess, she picks up local issues exclusively.

MPs don't get an annual leave allowance, maternity leave or sick pay.

I'm not saying they all work hard - Farage, for example, is neither in Westminster OR his constituency most of the time - but it's not fair to characterise recess as holiday. It isn't. It just means parliament doesn't sit.

Audiences to the Hay Festival contribute over £25 million to the local economy and support over 400 jobs annually.

But look at how much money it brings in !

With the country in an economic mess we need as much money as we can get.

Good. That should limit online support.

That event is non-profit making and should be encouraged as we are a Christian country.
