I must have been living under a rock because I don’t know what Ann’s specific political views were. The only thing for me is that a 78 year old woman appears to have been murdered in her own home, where she was said to be blissfully happy.

The alleged messages have been released on social media. If these are factual then she was talking to channel 5 staff minutes before she was attacked. So sad. She confirmed she had received the teams link but then wasn't present for the call.

I’m assuming the ideas the police have would be compromised by further info coming into the public domain. It’s very much a balance is it not? Maybe suspect (s) is being watched?

more likely she’s either annoyed someone locally (not necessarily to do with politics) or someone who strongly disagrees with her politics has tracked her down.

It seems targeted with the car reportedly arriving shortly before it seems like it happened.

Yes this seems very bizarre. Surely the police will ask for the publics help in identifying a suspect.
What is it they dont want us to know?

Perhaps they didn't need public help to identify the person. And perhaps they didn't want to tip off the culprit.

According to Sky “The force say it was assisted by Counter Terrorism Policing North East, while South Yorkshire Police carried out the arrest, but there is still no information to suggest it is a terrorism related incident.”

Do counter terrorism police often help out in a regular murder and arrest?

I’d imagine so when a small force like Devon and Cornwall is involved.

Help from counter terror police, the plot thickens. Maybe they just needed the firearms officers because the suspect was suspected to have weapons.

Or it’s because Devon and Cornwall police are absolutely useless and need the proper police to help.

I don't think it's about age as much as what neighbours have been saying about her moving slowly recently. I believe she had a slip in the shower or something? It happens.

She was mentally robust, but physically, no not necessarily, she was a small woman, she always had an odd gait in the last few years, suggesting back or hip problems, she was nearly 80, and however sharp you are mentally, it can happen to any of us at any time. Particularly when we're that age. She wasn't Wonder Woman and I'm not sure why people are talking as if she was.
