Suspicious death, suspected murder. Think there is a press conference soon.

The suspect is white. What more is there to say? The police have urged people not to speculate on social media. If only people would listen.

I haven’t speculated on the crime at all.

It's an injustice and a crime, and that needs to be dealt with properly, but I'm not going to mourn such a mean-spirited, nasty piece of work who wouldn't piss on me if I was on fire. Her views were even worse than Thatcher's.

In certain circumstances silence has more dignity than passing comment.

RedRock41 · 11/07/2026 00:23

Extremely sorry to hear about the way Ann left this world. Absolutely shocking. We were poles apart politically but would have loved to have met her. A person of conviction and by all accounts great fun too.

Adam Boulton from Sky in his comments however was an absolute disgrace! Women’s worth it seems is tied to our relationships or relations with men… saying ‘spinster’, ‘old maid’, ‘one relationship’, ‘virgin’ etc is just vile.

He should have led with her achievements and characteristics.

RIP Ann and just so sad for what you went through.

I'll stand by it. Obviously it's terrible, and I feel for her family and friends. I'm just saying I'm personally unmoved by her death.

That doesn't mean I condone her murder. Of course I don't, and I hope justice is done.

You know you don’t HAVE to comment. No one really needs to know that you don’t care.

Ayarreet · 11/07/2026 00:47

Well I'm as left wing as they come and I'm shocked at her death, in the same way I was shocked at Gene Hackman's.
A sad end to a full life.
She occupied her space.
Good for her.
The attempts to diminish her after her death with questions about her virginity etc. are contemptible.
Her views were divisive enough, her personal life is irrelevant.

Ayarreet · 11/07/2026 00:51

And she was was nowhere near as ruthless as Thatcher.
Now there's a person I didn't mourn.

edit for typo

EmeraldShamrock000 · 11/07/2026 00:56

It’s shocking to end someone’s life this way. My thoughts are with her family trying to deal with the terror she endured of the last moment of her life. Very sad.

The left doesn't want to lock up burglars. This man will have previous. He will have already served time.

She was in charge of prison herself, but that is another story but for 14 years the Tories never built any prisons. don’t blame the left.

So that's the first thought is it. That says everything. Why are you even bringing racism into this?

Because @LuckyHazelFox if a horrific crime is committed by a white brit he will be brought to justice (hopefully) and it will be between him and the state. If he is from another country, or his parents are - there are calls to protest. These often end up violent. To summarise- we are glad we dont have to deal with unrest on top of a hideous crime.

let me know if you want specific egs.

AmateurDad · 10/07/2026 23:34

No. Again, we don't know that. It's speculation.

Stop it.
Just stop it.Hmm

Why? Maybe because race- based violence is huge atm

Anne had a relationship at Oxford and I think he broke it off if memory serves. She never bothered again with relationships so it has been told over the t
yrars

My god that line. What is wrong with people. How can he hope that.

It reminds me of when Margaret Thatcher died. It’s undoubtedly true that some of her policies were harsh and brutal to some communities, mining etc, and she had a firm line on strikers who were holding the country to ransom. I can understand the no love lost there for ppl who were affected. But when her death was announced I remember seeing effigies of her and banners taunting her which were being spread and celebrated across FB by ppl I know weren’t affected by the policies I mentioned earlier. It just seemed like jumping on the bandwagon and laughing at the death of an old woman who had commanded respect in adverse circumstances and at a time when no other woman had even been considered ‘able’ to run the country. I was shocked and kept thinking she hadn’t murdered anyone and they were doing this to someone’s mother and grandmother. It was horrible to witness.

This is even worse as Anne was brutally killed in her own home. I cannot believe ppl are doing this at all, let alone publicly.

BeethovenNinth · 11/07/2026 03:37

She was an old fashioned politician and I mean that in a good way.

shocking.

RIP

if this has been done because someone disagreed with her views then it will be even worse.

SammyScrounge · 11/07/2026 03:56

'saw lots of LGBT activists celebrating her death this morning on Bluesky.'

That is really sick.

Typical of the entire LGBTQ community to be "ignorant savages"? Save your homophobia for a different thread instead of trying to tarnish a discussion of someone's tragic death.

LivingTheDreamish · 11/07/2026 04:51

I thought she was fabulous and I'm so sorry this happened to her. Many of her views were rooted in her faith and as a person of principle she didn't shy away from this in her public life.

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 11/07/2026 05:53

Makes sense now why the initial reports of her passing were withdrawn.

Very sad, whatever her views were.

No, I don't want examples because this thread is about Ann's murder, not the race of thee murderer.

LuckyHazelFox · 11/07/2026 06:08

HumberSquid · 11/07/2026 02:26

The suspect's race will only become relevant if this proves to be a racist crime. I can see that some people are really struggling to deal with each case on an individual basis though. No wonder the divide remains.

Ann was head girl when I went to senior school. I met her a couple of years ago and we reminisced about Bath convent. She was thoughtful, funny and very friendly.
To have such a dreadful death is very upsetting to me, no one deserves to die like that and the disgusting comments on here are disrespectful and cruel.
I may not have agreed with everything she said but she was a very kind and caring person.
