Re: saying that he is white, I think they are just relaying information from the police and the police gave that information because (iirc) initially they were trying to find him, and after that they were requesting information for the public.

I really, really hate that the Reform leaders are now using this as an excuse to scream about why Nigel needs five million dodgy pounds for security and he's the most abused and targeted politician EVER (tell it to David Amess and Jo Cox) . My gut feeling is that the man who did it is some local drug addict who thought some elderly, rich lady would be an easy target for burglary and is known locally, which is why he was caught so soon.

You may not have agreed with her politics but I admire her trenchant grit in standing by her beliefs, no matter their unpopularity. It shows up the calibre of politicians we have currently, I think. Poor lady, I hope her fear and suffering were minimal.

I thought something was suspicious as soon as this was reported on the BBC news earlier. I said to Clive (my husband) she looked so well and sharp on the interview she had done less then 48hours before.
