You have elected as an MP to stand in the UK&NI parliament a person who said in a panel interview with Annabel Tiffin from BBC Northwest Tonight that the Manchester Arena bombing was caused by people sewing division by questioning immigration.

That statement is so outrageous I don't even know where to start.

People don’t care or have forgotten. In NY 9/11 is now an irrelevance to many.

At the time of the Manchester bombing someone posted on here that their sympathy lay equally with the bomber and his family.

TheNuthatch · 28/02/2026 09:19

The current version of the green party are frightening.
Starmer sacrificed the seat to save his own position. Too scared of Burnham.

thisist · 28/02/2026 09:23

People should be very frightened about what is happening in this country. There's no turning back now. Great Britain will never be great again.

BIWI · 28/02/2026 09:25

Great Britain will never be great again.

What on earth do you mean by this?

Yogabearmous · 28/02/2026 09:29

Terrifying.

easysundaytea · 28/02/2026 09:30

Go Greens!

The only thing threatening Great Britain's greatness is coastal erosion, given that the 'Great' in the name refers to the physical nature of the land mass, in contrast to 'little Britain' (Brittany).

I'm not frightened at all. My life is wonderful😊
And let's be honest, Britain has always been average at best.

Makingadecision · 28/02/2026 09:33

im just not sure what will happen. Labour are ridiculous and all about a few working people paying g for everyone else. Reform is a bit too right for me. I’m thinking Kemi and the conservatives might be worth another try

I don't want us to be "Great Again".

I want us to find an equilibrium where we can enjoy our green and pleasant land, which I mean with no religious implications, and find a way to live causing minimal damage to the planet while providing a decent standard of living and health care for all our people without disadvantaging people in other countries.

I don't believe hearking back to times with a vastly different set of world trading and moral standards is in any way to be applauded.

When was it great?
I think it was better 20 years ago than it is now, but I wouldn't have said great.

It is — the issues in the US are caused in part by both sides flinging themselves to the respective ends of the scale

this was far left vs far right - and the result would have been just as scary of Reform had won

Now we have Restore because Reform isn’t far right enough

while the moderates just panic.

What do you mean by that statement? What in your opinion made Britain "Great"?

Who named Britain "Great"? And was it really great? Going around the world slaughtering people and stealing their land is not great by any standards.

80smonster · 28/02/2026 09:47

Anything to keep the Reform thickos at bay.

It absolutely was great by the standards of the time and most of Europe was doing it.

Not correct.

It is possible to acknowledge what we can see through a modern lens as terrible wrongs whilst also accepting that the British were great engineers, as one example of many.

did You hear the reform candidates graceless speech about losing because of islamists ? Ugh what a relief they didn’t win . I’m scared of their idea about what makes Britain ‘great’ . Flag shagging misogynistic thick twats!
