I wonder why right wingers are clamouring for Starmer to be toppled. All that will happen is that he will be replaced with someone else who they will dislike just as much, if not more. There won't be a GE.

I don't think it is in anyone's interests to have the merry-go-round of PMs that we had under the Tories. And no, I am not a "fan-girl"or a "Starmerista". I just want a bit of political stability.

Ok . You read your stuff and I’ll read mine. You won’t change my opinion though.

I have no interest in changing your opinion but I’m not going to leave your views unchallenged.

Facts never stop conspiracy theorists.

I had not heard of this arsonist business until this thread. But leaping from ‘someone targeted a contentious and unpopular political figure’s house at a time of major domestic controversies and world conflict’ to ‘it’s because he’s gay innit’ seems like quite the leap.

Some on this site are obsessed with the rumour. They wheel it out at every single opportunity.

There is a lot of unsubstantiated rumour, spread deliberately on social media by people seeking to discredit him. There is plenty of that even on this thread.

There is a reason why even the right-leaning press don't report on this stuff. They hate Starmer and would be all over it immediately if there was even the slightest bit of evidence to substantiate the claims.

Not as march as Farage . He gets more vitriol than any politician I can remember . This government is corrupt and it’s amusing see all the socialists tying themselves it knots to try and minimise it .
They are all bloody liars , just choose which liar you want . The country deserves better .

If you read the foreign press you obviously disregard it. Starmer’s diplomatic skills are highly regarded globally.

Of course they are… the CCP absolutely adore him! 😅 Get anything they want!

Despite numerous posts being deleted because they’re libellous.

Farage and leading Tories took us out of Europe.

In the end it is the economy that supports our education, NHS, investment and support of employment, maintenance of a welfare state etc etc.

If Farage and co hadn’t lied to the population about Europe Starmer wouldn’t need to be so reliant on diplomacy with Trump and China. At which he seems to be very good.

A democratic vote took us out of Europe . We were given a choice , people voted to leave .

You haven’t mentioned Mandelson in this. What do you think about Starmer choosing him?

Show me the vitriol Farage has got in the 'press? he doesn't get it.

Whether Starmer will go now or later on or not at all, will depend on what comes out on what he really knew about Mandelson.... but atm there simply isn't the evidence for a resignation.

"this Govt is corrupt..." there is no evidence for that, none at all, one can argue "incompetent" if you don't like what they do but not Corrupt.

Amusing all the far right posters, trying to say the Labour are corrupt....

Might help to google what Corrupt means?

I’m sure that is true but rumours are spread about anyone in the public eye and politicians of all colours.
Many years ago during Brown’s tenure there was a plan by Damian McBride & Derek Draper (probably encouraged by Alastair Campbell) to start a rumour website in which any old nonsense was made up about Tories and their families.
It was discovered and stopped but the intention was there.

peanutbuttertoasty · 04/02/2026 09:40

How is he very good? What results are you pleased with? Personally I’m hugely relieved that trump has stepped in and saved us from Starmer on Chagos but hardly stellar diplomacy from him. Or is it the exchange of access to our secret data cables for a few holiday visas to china you’re pleased with? The man has no leverage and no clue. He is a liability and an international laughing stock.

He was warned against Mandelson by MI5/6 in the screening and ignored it…why?

Based on lies. A pretty large proportion of those leave voters are now dead and many of those still alive have changed their mind.

Why did the Tories sell the building to the Chinese and then give outline permission for the Embassy?

You clearly know nothing about how data is transmitted if you think they can put their ear to a cable and hear whats being said.... plus these cables will be moved.... & Screened as per best practice.

Having the Chinese in 1 building is better than across 6, as happens now.

🙄 yes I do know how data cables work thanks, fucks sake

Why would a PM go against the advice of his own security service to grant something ill advised to a foreign (and threatening) entity? Especially one with such an abysmal human rights record. Curious.

peanutbuttertoasty · 04/02/2026 09:54

Google is free but here is one www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/mandelson-epstein-starmer-us-ambassador-trump-b2824777.html

HelloPossible · 04/02/2026 10:00

I find it hard to believe that the security services were not aware of the nature of Mandelson’s relationship with Epstein especially now we know what they are capable of through Snowden. But we don’t know who Epstein was working for if anyone , if they told Starmer not to appoint him I think Starmer will have to go. It’s worth finding other sources of information as well as the mainstream as certain aspects of this story in many ways the most instructive aren’t being discussed at all.

peanutbuttertoasty · 04/02/2026 10:05

If MI5 etc don’t know who Epstein worked for it’s quite astounding. Given how prolific he was, and his reach of influence, they really should have had agents working on him night and day. It’s horrifying. In plain sight and all that.

1dayatatime · 04/02/2026 10:08

Hazlenuts2016 · 03/02/2026 17:04

Could it bring down Farage too? Lots of references to him. Possible Russian connections. They never did convincingly rule out Russian involvement in Brexit.

There are no communications between Farage and Epstein.

The only references to Farage are by third parties mentioning Farage in their communications with Epstein.

Please stop trying to infer a link between Farage and Epstein when there isn't one.

peanutbuttertoasty · 04/02/2026 09:54

So rumour and hearsay....

..and no, you don't have a clue how data is transmitted, as your post said "Give China access to our data cables..."

You know those "unprotected" Green boxes, dotted around the place or Openreach exchanges with just a bit of barbed wire between you and fibre.... the financial sector operates far and wide away from the actual 'City of London.
