What are you saying he will do re the EU and Russia? What has he actually said he will do? Thats all anyone can base their opinion on. Not some suspicion in your head.

A breach of a manifesto commitment is a serious thing and usually has political repercussions.

You just don't agree with Matt Goodwin politically. He used to be left wing too by the way but studied the effects of immigration and as a result now stands for Reform. SonI dont think you need to equate him with Tommy R. That's just lazy.

Yes Reform will attract unsavoury types. But most people who support Reform are perfectly reasonable people who like their policies and don't like what Labour has become. I find the sectariansim of the Gaza Independents far more terrifying.

We can't afford to pay benefits to the Boris wave. Thats the trouble. Many people have come here and claimed benefits rather than being net contributors. They shouldn't be here if they can't support themselves. And AI and Labours employment laws and tax will mean rising unemployment. Plenty of people here will need those jobs in the NHS and carehomes.

I do welcome these deportations. Why wouldn't I? We've got nearly 70 million people stuffed on this tiny island. Why would we want more?

Matt Goodwin? so you support his blog post just 2.5 years ago when he said he thinks people should have a "negative Child benefit tax" if they don't breed....

Charming!

One could say MG is just an opportunist, changing his views to get power.... its not as if the negative effects of immigration are new is it?

Manifesto's get junked by all parties once in power, things ignored, things added in, things not possible ie Boris promised lower taxes & lower immigration Cameron promised 5000 more GPs and lower immigration and Labour aren't on track to build the houses they said they'd do or employ 6500 extra teachers... but have delivered on lower immigration....

People came here on the Sunak wave, legally, yet you want to deport them.... good luck finding nurses and other HCP hanging around on the dole wanting to do the jobs these immigrants are doing... we've lost 3 non medical wards - 90 patients (looking after people waiting for social care provision) all shut down because of lack of staff... so more "bed blocking"

On illegals, yes i agree but if India say NO, what exactly are we going to do?

Don’t forget giving a peerage to the PIE-supporting Harriet Harman

Is Harman even an MP? let alone, potentially our next PM....

So on that basis should Starmer be removed because of Angela Rayner's resignation or Tulip Siddiq's resignation or Louise Haigh resignation?

Given his core staff going, another just now, he might remove himself.

That post was disgusting, glad its been taken down, a series of totally false slurs but tbh no surprise, its what some do unfortunately.

Things are tough for Starmer atm but Labour have a very different leader selection process, as we saw with Corbyn.

Sarwar needs to keep his opinions to himself.

To be replaced with who exactly?

Anyone else in the Labour Party would do a far worse job on the economy than Starmer. Yes that would be to the electoral benefit of all the other parties, but it will come at the cost of economic damage.

There have been plenty of false slurs about Tories. I’m sure I remember Labour supporters on here gleefully accusing David Cameron of having sex with a pig’s head or some such.
I can’t remember seeing any actual proof of this.

Well, i'm not going to repeat the slurs written but there is no comparison, none whatsoever.

I'm surprised you equate the two, as i'm sure you wouldn't comment on a post you hadn't read?

38thparallel · 09/02/2026 15:44

I wasn’t referring to the actual post - I was referring to your saying there were false slurs about Starmer.

These slurs went way way beyond normal gossip and were blatant lies.... hence the posts removal..... so as you didn't even see what the pp wrote, i don't really see how you can make an informed comment.

BTW i don't agree with some of the stuff bandied about around Cameron, when as you say the evidence was hearsay only.

38thparallel · 09/02/2026 16:17

I’d have said accusing someone of having sex with a pig’s head also goes beyond normal gossip. Seems an extremely unpleasant slur to me.

Clavinova · 09/02/2026 19:42

Alexandra2001 · 09/02/2026 08:21

Its his views on the EU and Russia that matter far more than his eurosceptic ones.
There are still questions on his Nazi beliefs as a teenager.

A manifesto can say whatever it likes, its not a legal contract.

My worry with Reform is the people it attracts, people like Matt Goodwin or Tommy Robinson, who endorsed Matt Goodwin and Farage refuses to reject that endorsement.

Deporting EU citizens given the right to remain, means people in the NHS, care homes, factories, people with kids born here.

Labour have sent back 60k people here illegally, 3x more than anything Sunak or Bojo ever did... i hope you wellcome this?

Edited

Labour have sent back 60k people here illegally, 3x more than anything Sunak or Bojo ever did

The government are claiming a 31% increase in returns, not 300% - the vast majority are voluntary returns;

Bad news for Starmer today on small boat arrivals though;

9 Feb 2026
More small boat migrants come to Britain under Starmer than any other PM.

Over 65,000 migrants have crossed the Channel since Labour took power 19 months ago.

Nope, Sunak claimed 23k under his tenure, Labour have done 61k, 43k people identified, have left before being forcibly deported.... what exactly is the problem?
The Tories totally failed to ID these people & allowed numbers to explode.

Some 193k migrants have crossed the channel, so if 65k crossed under Labour, well, around 130k under the Tories..... plus they allowed in 4m migrants in just 3 years.

The Tories had how many PMs in just 8 years... 3 in just their last 5 years in power.
Labour have some way to go.

Nope

My first link was published by the current government a few days ago;

Between 1 July 2024 and 31 January 2026, a total of 58,539 returns were recorded (including both enforced and voluntary returns). This is a 31% increase on the 44,626 returns recorded in the nineteen-month period ending June 2024. (1 December 2022 to 30 June 2024)

On small boats - more arrivals than any other prime minister;

More small boat migrants come to Britain under Starmer than any other PM.

A total of 65,922 people have made dangerous journey since Labour came to power in July 2024, data released on Monday shows.

This is an average of over 794 a week, despite Sir Keir coming in to Downing Street with a plan to “smash the gangs” that traffic people across the Channel.

It just looks like people sounding off using their own conspiracy theories. People can usually make their own minds up about people. You just need to decide who you want to vote for by yourself and let other people do the same. Thats my suggestion.

38thparallel · 09/02/2026 21:37

But it was widely coveted by mainstream press.

According to the article there is photographic evidence - in which case why hasn’t it been printed?

38thparallel · 09/02/2026 21:38

Having said that, with AI improving by the hour there are going to be a lot of photographs which might or might not be true.

Interesting.

Do you think Jeremy Corbyn could be a Russian stooge as well? Corbyn secretly supported leaving the EU and wanted to leave NATO. Do you remember Corbyn's Russian hat? Hiding in plain sight? Not to mention Seumas Milne, Labour's Executive Director of Strategy and Communications (October 2015 - April 2020);
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3298550/Red-handed-Photograph-shows-Jeremy-Corbyn-s-pro-Kremlin-spin-chief-held-Putin-s-iron-grip-propaganda-summit.html

So many red flags - goodness knows why Keir Starmer thought Corbyn and Milne would be suitable occupants of Number 10 - another example of Starmer's poor judgement no doubt. Although I do sometimes wonder whether Starmer could be a spy himself, a double-agent perhaps - recruited by UK security services at Oxford - and by the Russians/communists when he attended that Czechoslovakian 'work camp' during the Cold War as a young man. Starmer's total lack of charisma could be a useful disguise;

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13532089/young-Sir-Keir-Starmer-ended-Communist-spy-files-Cold-War.html

What do you think?
It is very complicated.

Jeremy Corbyn's pro-Kremlin spin chief held in Putin's iron grip

Jeremy Corbyn's aide Seumas Milne was pictured shaking hands with the Russian president Vladimir Putin at last year's Sochi summit, which is designed to boost Putin's ego.
