Why do some people think Trump is a good man?

Lyannaa · 16/11/2024 19:28

There are a lot of people, even in the UK who act like you have offended their mum or dad if you point out what an awful person he clearly is. Even his own family don't like him and plenty of people have said how his relationships with his own children are merely transactional.

If people like him, is it because they are fascists themselves deep down? Or is it some type of mass hysteria?

I am fine with a certain amount of legal immigration of people like Musk who obviously bring a lot to the country.

You will probably screech ‘it’s cause he’s yt’ but it’s actually because he has established several valuable companies in America.

(and under no circumstances is someone in a DACA category a legal immigrant, what makes you think they are?)

DACA recipients are allowed to work in the US, they are therefore in the country with permission.

You want one rule for Musk and a different rule for others? It's alleged that Musk worked illegally on a student visa and has openly admitted his drug use. As such, he could lose his citizenship.

However what you're somewhat magnanimously saying now, is that immigrants can stay if they have made a significant contribution.

Google Kai Trump (his grand daughter) speaking, in front of Trump and her father, and various other family members, you will see how close his family is. I don't mind debating things he may or may have got right or wrong in the past, but what you are raising is just fluff n nonsense. Are you being paid to say all this?

Lyannaa · 23/11/2024 21:32

His niece, Mary Trump has plenty to say about his character and why he became the narcissist that he is. I think she knows better than you.

I can assure you I am not clever at all. That term is considered offensive nowadays.

Yet you're perfectly ok with defending a man who is a convicted sex offender. This is not an argument you can win Grin

I do not think people think he is a good person per se. But I think they appreciate that he speaks the truth of his intentions and mind, at times when many politicians keep taking more u-turns that humanely possible. As an example, he said he would build a wall and he built it.
I think wgat you observe is the consequences of much of the media and democrats stating that only thick as mince people could possibly vote for Trump. So, obviously, they are going to feel touchy about this.
Most USA voted republican. They will have to come up with some other explanation, won't they? Certainly, the republicans are offering a better solution to the problems the population faces.

Given that only 52 miles of new border wall was built during his administration, the fact that you believe "he said he would build a wall and built it" says a lot about the American media and low-information voters.

Trump promised to round up immigrants. I believe he's promised to round up 20m even though there are approximately 11m undocumented immigrants in the US.

Los Angeles and Massachusetts have both pledged to work against this endeavour to evict immigrants.

Even the Latin American community came out to vote for him because no one likes illegal immigrants.

Yes, there is a certain kind of hypocrisy within humanity like this that was also evident when Asian immigrants in the UK voted for Brexit. It was ok for them to come here, but after that the gates should close, apparently.

I'm prepared for it to kick off. The military have been in talks about what happens if Trump invokes laws to turn them on citizens. Some police forces have come forward to say they won't participate in his deportation plans.

The plans are a logistical quagmire and I can imagine underfunded courts struggling to cope with the numbers. I'm wondering how Americans are going to react when they experience the reality of this.

You have to wonder why this amount of money and resources can't be put towards universal healthcare or something more pressing.

I always make a distinction between immigrants that very much contribute to America, and those that are just normal and those that actively harm. The latter two categories are unneeded tbh.

And DACA is ‘deferred action’ which means that their status is only temporary and can be revoked at our discretion. So not legal—if they were, they’d be handed a green card.

And yea, immigration is a privilege, not a right. Let’s not forget that.

What’s the point of universal health care if you can’t even stop illegal
immigrants from using it?

You have no solution for that. You can’t have open borders and have universal health care. The fact you even speak like this shows how unserious you are.

Majority of Americans want mass deportations according to polls. What do you think will happen if their elected officials give sanctuary to unvetted people, some of whom will cause harm (eg Denver mayor said his city will be a sanctuary city, next day it was reported an illegal immigrant raped a 14-year-old girl)

It will be made even more difficult because other cities will ship their illegal immigrants to these cities as an expedient, making these cities even worse and turning public opinion even harder against illegal immigration.

Do you even live in the real world? Honestly speaking, how could any of this be expected to work? People are going to get fed up and no amount of ‘Be Kind!!!’ is going to make it work.

The point is to look after the many people in your country who cannot afford healthcare, the vast majority of whom are not illegal immigrants. Honestly, your logic is completely missing and your posts are chilling. Enacting these policies will not bring you your nirvana.

There are 452 miles on that border.
He only built new walls on parts of the border that had no previous wall and repaired or reinforced other stretches.
But he did it. Not just trash the idea 5 min after saying it. That is what I mean. You may not agree with his policies and he says quite a bit of jaw dropping bits here and there, but he is able to stick to an idea and policy for more than 5 min.

Not so much the wall but the Stay in Mexico policy was a good one. It encouraged people to apply for asylum in a port of entry and gave people the signal that asking for asylum after illegally crossing was not going to be tolerated.

Biden rescinded that policy btw

Do you think Trump will bring it back?
Children separated from their parents is a sad reality to witness.
But, also, illegal immigration is not good. I want to see the teafficking gangs profitting of this gone. The illegal employers abusing people paying for it. And a claim assylum at point of catastrophe system in place. Whether they (or tge UK) will get any of that, we shall see.

It's already been explained to you how Trump's promises are fantasies because America simply doesn't have the infrastructure to do this on a mass scale and I have no idea why you want the military on the streets and the police to act with impunity.

It's also been explained to you that gun control and domestic violence are huge issues in the US and effect far more people than illegal immigrants.

I know it's been pointed out to you because it was me who did it on another thread. I also wrote about the US opioid crisis and how many people that's killing.

I agree that the US needs to better control immigration. I don't like how illegal immigrants are exploited and keep wages down.

It's strange how the amount of illegal immigrants has remained the same since 2005 and how the immigration courts are so underfunded. The borders are understaffed and there aren't enough ICE officers to do the job.

There's no point repeating myself. You'll see for yourself soon enough what I mean. As for universal healthcare, it's blatantly obvious you wouldn't think this was a good thing as you voted for someone who wants further restrictions on healthcare for the poor.

Illegal immigration is the lightening rod that won Trump the election. Trump is going to fix everything wrong with America and he's going to start with this, I hope it works out for you.

You really don’t understand the American healthcare system if you think the poor don’t have access. They do through Medicaid. It’s the middle class that pays through the nose. So right from the start you are talking things you know little about.

The American public is in favor of mass deportation and we can put more funds and manpower behind it. Don’t forget that illegal immigrants who cannot prove two years of habitual residency do not have to go through the court system. They can just be deported as an administrative process.

You voted for Trump so you already know that he has plans to cut Medicaid and welfare.

Deporting immigrants is more complicated than kicking them out of the country. You need to hold them somewhere, you need to get permission from their country of origin and you need staff to track them down and process them.

Trump advisers contemplating cuts to Medicaid and other welfare programs

Further plans include blows to food stamps that could threaten millions of Americans to fund tax cut extensions

To be fair, he didn't say this, if you google "white light, bleach" you will find what he said. He was referring to something a HS person had said in a presentation just before Trump spoke briefly. I think it would also be fair to say that medical stuff is not his strong point, but the same could be said about most world leaders at the time, and Trump was basically trying to make sense of what had been said and kept asking the person "you are researching this, then?"

This is an example of why people are hacked off. There is a lot of discrediting and b*llocks going on, about nonsense. Just now people are worried about ww3. They are worried about not being able to afford food and other basics. They don't care about the mindless nonsense.

I watched conferences from a number of world leaders during Covid. If you thing Trump and Johnson and were in anyway comparable to other world leaders getting to grips with things you are mistaken. Both were notably well out of their depth due to having issues failing to grasp even basic scientific concepts.

Literally nobody with any intelligence would have suggested what he did using the wording he did. The context doesn’t make what he said better.

I live in the US in a blue state. I'm british, just back here on holiday. I hated trump until around a year ago, when due to various things I realized like many Americans that most of msm has lied about him.

He is a family man, businessman, and successful enough that he doesn't need bribes to get in office. The democrats are truly awful. They have taken all family values down, stripped away many protections for us citizens while creating sanctuary cities to boost voter numbers. These sanctuary cities have cost billions and made life dirty and dangerous.

Most Democrat politicians seem to become enormously wealthy on modest salaries.

Trump raised /donated millions to those in crisis, has always supported black organizations quietly, without 'trumpeting' about it, and is promising amazing things for America.

Health reform with removal of additives in our food, prosecution and radical punishment for child molesters and human traffickers, deportation of criminals and illegals, going after corruption in the sec and other trading crimes, making life more affordable with no tax on ss for seniors or overtime, cutting down waste and beurocracy (40B on internet with not a single connection) etc etc.

Also he is not a war monger. If even a few of these things are improved I will be happy.

Remember he had 90% negative press while dems had 70% positive.

He won because he has an answer for everything while kamala couldn't give a coherent answer for almost anything and the few things she did promise were going to cost Americans a lot of money; the last straw for many.

I know msm misled the Public and lied so much that no one can believe he won but his was a grassroots campaign that only cost 300m because he didn't pay for supporters and most of his successful adverts were just reposting the democrats promises (they were that awful). She, on the other hand, blew $1.1B, bussing supporters from city to city, on billboards and celebrity endorsements (10m to Beyonce?) and her promises were awful.

Liken it to the petition for a general election to replace starmer which has amassed 1.2m signatures in 24 hours. People hate the democrats for what they have done over the last 4 years. The unhappiness with the democrats forced people like me to realise that trumps way is better.

Once you see past the msm lies and that his way is better, you are then more likely to see proof of all the positive things he has done, and wow, they are legion.

The lawfare against him was also ridiculous. I'm sure he was a little misogynistic and not the most respectful young man but that goes for 70 to 80 % of men. The rape charges against him were laughable (e jean). He is probably not the most virile man in the world now at age 78 and won't be skirt chasing. He has a focus to make everything better for his legacy. He's not going to seek reelection so is more driven to make a mark.

He is also probably our best hope of stopping ww3. Surely you want to live without threat of being nuked?

He's a pathological liar and has been accused of rape which is apparently disrespectful.
