IF it happens, I think Vance will use the 'for the good of the party' line and compare himself to Biden's stepping back.

The difference being that Joe resigned for the good of the Country, above self and above party. Vance would be quitting because Trump said "You're fired!".

It's interesting - I've watched a few clips of Trump rallies as part of a news piece on YouTube - and he always used to have a backdrop of an energised supprtive crowd, waving signs.
Now they frequently look bored and keep forgetting to hold up their trump 2024 sign.

(I'm also amused at how much money his campaign has wasted on the "Biden You're Fired" signs that they can't hand out any more)

I've just seen this and thought of this thread. I've never heard of the documentary maker, nor the documentary he made in 2023, but that's probably because I've been living under a rock and have the attention-span of a gnat. It sounds interesting.

So not only is Trump telling people they won't need to vote again in 4 years' time – he's repeatedly telling them they don't need to vote for him this time.

And as Maddow points out, more than 70 officials have been put in place in swing states who are pro-Trump election-conspiracists.

At least 22 of these people have already disrupted elections by delaying or refusing to certify votes.

So that looks like the Trumpists' plan.

Same as 2020, but this time doing it at the county level, where low-level officials can prevent whole states from counting and declaring the election results.

I can't help noticing that the statements made by Trump about which his minions stand up on their hind legs and bellow that it's just a sort of thing he says, normal discourse, nothing to see here, move along, have generally in the past been racist or sexist but of late have decidedly given the impression he intends to do away with democracy in America if he can.

Trump obviously decided that since Raffensperger and Sterling didn't do his bidding in 2020, he needs to get County officials to swing things his way.
Such skullduggery can be challenged in the courts but that takes time. Maybe Biden needs to step in waving his complete immunity and smash some heads together?
