Agreed.
As @Spandauer reminds us, Alex Jones has spent decades lucratively claiming, to a believing audience, that the shooting of over two dozen people, mostly small children, in their school was a hoax. This is for something where the "hoax" claim is self-evidently ludicrous. (Apart from anything else, the number of people who would have had to be in on such a "secret," from parents and police down to funeral directors, hospital staff and birth & death registration staff, would be huge.)
This attack is so very much smaller in scale, and the obvious perpetrator now dead. There will be just as many conspiracy theories as with the shooting of Kennedy. Most of them will pick up and use some elements of truth, and it will probably run for years.
