I don’t like it from the point of view that there are additional checks on goods coming from GB into NI which incurs a lot of costs and causes delays.

So you'd rather a border with the Republic of Ireland and what that means?

As far as I can tell, there isn't a solution in NI that both sides can possibly be happy with and that is the fault of Boris Johnson who didn't give a toss about NI when he Got Brexit Done, from the minute the referendum was called, to the minute we left the EU.

But I'm sure he's the one to solve that problem now?

No but I am saying they could alter it to some extent so that there isn’t a hard border formed between NI and the ROI as of course I don’t want that either.

I was against brexit. Don’t think it should have happened.

He is a Liar!!!!

If he gets back in will he get his £116k a year pay off for last time as well as his salary as PM? the way it is going it would have been cheaper to have a Premier League manager, 4 paid off in 6 years.

Hopefully he'll get £232k a year when he gets booted out at the GE. Seems like something we'd do

BonnesVacances · 20/10/2022 17:26

I think Private Eye says it best tbh.

That’s not right, it’s up to116k as a one off payment to allow him to pay off all expenses to move back to private life. He only gets what he submits actual valid expenses for. It is not an annual payment but a one off expense reimbursement.

itsgettingweird · 20/10/2022 17:28

im not defending Boris but just saying he’s not necessarily doing anything wrong by being on holiday abroad

It's his third holiday in so many months.

A holiday fine.

But considering Starmer was given a lot of criticism for having a weeks holiday in Majorca with his family during recess and not coming up with a cost of living/ energy plan when he's not even PM it's a little too stupid to say Johnson can go away loads and ignore his constituency,

Y7drama · 20/10/2022 17:29

That would be an absolute disgrace.

private eye have got it wrong, it’s not people have forgotten, it’s most people don’t give a shit.

TheVanguardSix · 20/10/2022 17:31

How demoralising it all is. There’s just NOTHING to be hopeful about. I’m so sick of the sight of them all, especially Boris and his fucking rolls of wallpaper. Just get Berlusconi in. Because that’s how we look from the outside; a corrupt joke of a political system. Whitehall needs a CillitSage smudging!
Bang! And the ghost of Ayn Rand is gone.

I do wish we would have politicians with some integrity who thought for the good of the country instead of for their own advancement. Both parties are full of ambitious people who think only of themselves.

Nobody in recent times joins the Labour party or LibDems if they are ambitious, thinking only for their own advancement, you'd join the Tories surely?

As Liz Truss did, when she realised the LDs weren't going to get her into no10.

Kendodd · 20/10/2022 17:33

If we get Johnson back do you think he'll redecorate the flat again?

SleepingStandingUp · 20/10/2022 17:33

I think if the only leader you can get is one you pushed out, you're screwed

BustyDisplay · 20/10/2022 17:35

I’ll leave the country if that wrecking ball becomes PM again.

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/10/2022 17:35

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 16:59

I'll just take one during term time when I'm a teacher then? Because I'm entitled to a holiday whenever I like? Sounds great 👍

If you're going to argue that he was working during the summer recess, no he was on holiday then too.

Exactly.

SuperCamp · 20/10/2022 17:35

Absolutely every resource we need for this country’s survival hangs in the balance.

It is no time for a round of the Hokey Cokey.

TheVanguardSix · 20/10/2022 17:36

Well, like death and taxes, we can be sure of another long, insufferable winter with another (or the same!) cleft asshole as PM. We’re spoiled for choice in that regard. It’s like a merry banquet of cleft assholes!
I want to tear my eyes out.

caringcarer · 20/10/2022 17:36

Boris is on a plane right now. He is coming back to take soundings from MP's. JRM is sounding out ERG group for block support. At the moment apparently 10 MP's have publicly given their support for Boris. 6 each for Sunak and Maudant. I would love Boris to come back. He got us those vaccines before Europe got them, allowing us to get out of lockdown. He supported people through pandemic with furlough. He got us out of EU. He saw off Corbyn and I would buy him a bloody big cake if he came back. He was elected on mandate of getting Brexit done, green jobs and levelling up. He should be given the remaining two years to see if he can make progress on these areas. I was listening to interview on the radio the other day with a city mayor. He said the leveling up money has only recently arrived and now his council will be considering how it is to be spent. I hope it goes to children who get free school meals for food in all school holidays.

That will make our status as an international laughing stock complete.

Oh, I think some other countries have even worse leaders, sadly for them.
At least we live in a democracy and can get rid of ours.

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 17:38

He supported people through pandemic with furlough.

Rishi claims that one, not Boris.

caringcarer · 20/10/2022 17:39

@noblegiraffe, actually Teresa May was the PM who appointed Chris Pincher, my MP to his whip roll. When Boris came in as PM he just kept him in post. Look up the records Pincher was in post while May was PM.

Christ!
TIL that actually it’s not ‘drinking the Kool-Aid’. It was, in fact, Flavor Aid that they drank in Jonestown. Which one are they drinking in Bojotown, Flavor without the U or Kool?

He was there until 25th July 2019 under Theresa May.

Boris appointed him to the whips office on 8th Feb 2022.

He didn't just keep him in post. He wasn't in the post when Boris put him there, knowing he was a sex pest.

MarshaBradyo · 20/10/2022 17:43

Not sure party members might like him back but he needs 100 MPs first
