I think my username answers the question...

I don’t know… your username’s a bit ambiguous. 😁

Happylady165 · 20/10/2022 17:58

This is a joke right?!?

Chateaudiaries · 20/10/2022 17:58

@Maireas that’s pure deflection. We are still an international laughing stock despite what other countries are dealing with.

BustyDisplay · 20/10/2022 17:58

Does Zelenskiy know about that dodgy Russian oligarch, Evgeny Lebedev Johnson gave a peerage to - the guy MI6 warned Johnson about?

twocatsandtwokids · 20/10/2022 17:58

That would be my worst nightmare

Untitledsquatboulder · 20/10/2022 17:58

maddy68 · 20/10/2022 16:17

I think that would be a disgrace. He was sacked for good reason

This.

GucciBear · 20/10/2022 17:56

I think he is the only one who can bring the Tories to heel and order He was naughty but has the mental strength to win.

Yes he did a sterling job with them over the summer, only half his cabinet resigned and 164 voted no confidence in him - perfect man for the job.

Bring back Boris!!!!

Kissingfrogs25 · 20/10/2022 17:59

Lots of things to consider:

Boris is the only person with an actual mandate from the nation to lead country.

Secondly many MPS felt deep regret when he left
He also has the support of the majority of the Conservative party

Thirdly and most importantly. Boris is the ONLY person that has any hope whatsoever of winning the election. And most people know that

So yes it’s entirely possible

Happylady165 · 20/10/2022 18:00

Not sure what you were watching but she outlined all of labours policies quite clearly? You might have been watching another channel maybe?

Boris will not come back. Everyone knows he was an idiot that broke the law several times. Statistically his approval ratings were dreadful.

overtaxedunderling · 20/10/2022 18:00

Like many comfortably off people, Boris was very good at spending taxpayers' money - not many folks can spend £50m on a bridge without laying a single brick.
There are 40 million people in Ukraine.
Our open-ended support has greatly increased energy costs for 500 million people across Europe and caused grain shortages in large parts of Africa.
The people of Ukraine have suffered appallingly and their President is seeking a trillion dollars to rebuild (www.ukrinform.net/rubric-economy/3565966-zelensky-more-than-1-trillion-needed-to-rebuild-ukraine.html).
The US would like to drag the conflict on until Russia is bankrupted, sadly OPEC+ have other ideas.
We need a Prime Minister who cares more for the homeless, displaced and vulnerable in the UK rather than one who governs for those with plenty of money.
Boris would not be getting my vote.

@noblegiraffe, Have you forgotten that Boris did not even take his full paternity leave when Will was born. Also he kept working even when he had Covid really badly and was put in intensive care following day. I don't know why people think he shirks on work when he has clearly demonstrated he has gone over and beyond what he had to do.

He probably didn't take his full paternity leave when his other kids were born...particularly as, allegedly, he doesn't even know some of them!

And, who cares? He kept pointing out during his 'partygate' lies, his home is also his workplace and his birthday bash was actually in the home bit - according to his delusions. So he was well placed to nip upstairs to see the missus most days.

Plus, he's running the country. It's a sacrifice he and Carrie should have thought about before deciding to have a baby (or two) during his time in office. Had it been a female PM do you honestly think she'd have been given the luxury of months of maternity leave? No? Neither do I and so he didn't get it. Big deal.

Notonthestairs · 20/10/2022 18:02

It might be worth him coming back only for the Privileges Committee to censure him for lying to Parliament, the party kick to him out and we get another leadership election under our belts by New Year.
We've had lots of experience of Conservative party breakdowns - Playing to our strengths. 👍

Booklover3 · 20/10/2022 18:02

Oh good god… one thing you can safely say about that nob is that his ego is vast and his self confidence is on another planet.

For fuck sake.

Arent we supposed to learn from history? This is like taking your abusive partner back… he won’t have changed! Same shit!

Untitledsquatboulder · 20/10/2022 18:03

@Kissingfrogs25 I don't think you understand how our political system works. Any Conservative leader has a mandate as we vote for the party not the person.

Wheresthebeach · 20/10/2022 18:03

I generally object to Attendance Awards in school...but now feel we ought to bring them into the Commons...or maybe even say they have to be in Parliament when it's sitting as it's kinda their job.

If Boris comes back the farce will be complete. I fear it's quite possible.

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 18:03

Our open-ended support has greatly increased energy costs for 500 million people across Europe and caused grain shortages in large parts of Africa.

Think you meant 'The illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine' there.

Yiayoula · 20/10/2022 18:04

@chocolatevelvet

If the unthinkable does happen , and that lying, self - serving excuse for a human being returns to power, may I please accompany you on your march to Downing Street ?

Cannot believe what is happening to this country .

LeMoo · 20/10/2022 18:05

@caringcarer the same Boris who refused to close borders or even screen flights until after the virus was established here, went around without any PPE or sanitising hands at the height of the epidemic, gave shitload of money to his friends while etc etc ?

The same Boris who's ego was so incensed that he was being forced to resign refused to step down for another couple of months and then buggered off and spent those months on holiday?

And the same Boris who hides in a fridge rather than answer questions he doesn't like?

That Boris??

Happylady165 · 20/10/2022 18:10

It’s like everyone’s forgotten what a bloody idiot he was!!!!!

toomuchlaundry · 20/10/2022 18:11

Has he actually stepped foot into Parliament since he stepped down?

Anniefrenchfry · 20/10/2022 18:11

Kissingfrogs25 · 20/10/2022 17:59

Agree. As said, I think it’s a done deal

I recall when he left it was rumoured he thought she’d fuck it and he’d come back after her. I’m fairly sure he thought she’d take longer than six weeks to fuck it.

it’s going to be between boris and sunak and boris is going to take it. He’s more popular across all members and let’s face it he’s also more popular with the public.

so that’s my bet, final two candidates sunak versus boris. Boris takes it

BustyDisplay · 20/10/2022 18:11

It’s also the same Party that has thrown away £120 million of tax payers hard-earned cash, wasted on the utter failure that is the ‘Festival of Brexit’. The National Audit Office is now working with a parliamentary committee investigation.

sweetheartyparty · 20/10/2022 18:12

He's a busted flush. We know exactly who he is and what he'll do. We need serious leaders in serious times

EmmaH2022 · 20/10/2022 18:13

I think he's their best chance

Red Wall etc

I said at the time, I don't understand what happened and I don't believe it was about a serial harasser

now the Tory party have hounded out someone else they voted in

they can't pretend they didn't know Truss views and economic ideas

Sunak has been too roundly rejected to stand again, surely?

it's all quite mad.

but it's a poisoned chalice. I'd rather just have a caretaker figurehead and a General Election though.

Bestcatmum · 20/10/2022 18:13

I'd prefer a prime minister who can keep his trousers on and doesn't have lots of children with several different women.
