Reports on sky news say that Boris might stand again for PM. How do you feel about that?

To be fair, most people in NI don’t want to remove the protocol either. It’s a massive benefit.

In my opinion, it is not a benefit.

Huntswomanonthemove · 20/10/2022 17:02

I hated that Boris lied and had parties during lockdown but I would far rather him than Sunak.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/10/2022 17:04

I don't like her at all but I'm fed up with female PM not getting a chance. I liked may and she got elbowed out.

Why?

HideousKinky · 20/10/2022 17:05

He still has to face a parliamentary enquiry about his conduct in office - surely his most ardent supporters can see this should count him out?

TabithaTittlemouse · 20/10/2022 17:05

He fucked up royally the first time so why would anyone want another go?

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 17:06

It baffles me the amount of people who seem to care about how “we” look.

Have you not noticed how “we” look has crashed the markets, wrecked the economy and destroyed our international reputation? Looking like a shitshow (because we are one) has actual consequences.

I'll just take one during term time when I'm a teacher then? Because I'm entitled to a holiday whenever I like? Sounds great 👍

If you're going to argue that he was working during the summer recess, no he was on holiday then too.

I didn’t say that?

I don’t know what way politician’s annual leave works.

of course he shouldn’t be able to just take holiday when he wants, I’m merely just pointing out that everyone is entitled to holiday so who says he is even doing anything wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t have to be a fan of Boris to point that out.

Rutland2022 · 20/10/2022 17:08

Sadly I don’t think he’s the worst thing that could happen, it’ll be Richie Rich and we’ll all be fucked.
I don’t want Boris back but he’s the less damaging. He’s useless but relatively harmless in comparison.

ShandaLear · 20/10/2022 17:09

In my opinion, it is not a benefit.

It’s a huge benefit. You have all the benefits of still being in the EU - single market, customs union, your supermarket shelves are still full, and you continue to have an open border. You lose that and all hell is going to break loose. Come and live in England if you think it’s not a benefit. It’s an absolute shitshow over here.

I agree

He's an arsehole and it'll be humiliating beyond belief in the world stage

But because he didn't actually DO anything during his time in power apart from all the scandals he will be the least damaging

GreenLunchBox · 20/10/2022 17:14

Boris or the lettuce, I'm ok with either.

We need a general election

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 17:15

He didn't do anything despite impending energy/financial crisis and that worked out just fine?

The country is in a situation where we really need a government to do things, and quickly.

Curiously the daily mail comments all the top ones are baying for him to come back with thousands and thousands of up ticks. The love for sunak is clearly missing, the rest don’t even rate a mention. No one really gives a shit about boris partying or his womanising it seems. It seems to be also recognised He is the candidate labour fear most.

I reckon boris is coming back . He will be pm a week on Friday.

I don’t like it from the point of view that there are additional checks on goods coming from GB into NI which incurs a lot of costs and causes delays.

It also undermines NI’s place within the UK. It is part of the UK and shouldn’t be treated as though it is isn’t.

Im not saying I like the Tories, but if Labour won’t try and least amend the protocol so that both designations in NI are happy to some extent, then I really wouldn’t want them to take the position of PM either.

devildeepbluesea · 20/10/2022 17:17

I think it comes to something when all the Tories have now is to resurrect that corrupt, self-serving posh boy. To suggest he didn’t do anything wrong though?

I’ve worked it out. Tories keep getting in because Tory voters have the brains of goldfish.

asblindasabat · 20/10/2022 17:19

We here in Northern Ireland likely won’t have a functioning devolved government again until the protocol is sorted

Anniefrenchfry · 20/10/2022 17:20

I’d also add that boris standing or not will be a huge signal. He will have done the math and know exactly how many will support him or not, he will only stand if he knows it’s pretty much a given he will win. He won’t stand if he thinks he can’t.

so if boris stands then we all know he’s enough support and will likely win it.

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 17:20

I don’t like it from the point of view that there are additional checks on goods coming from GB into NI which incurs a lot of costs and causes delays.

So you'd rather a border with the Republic of Ireland and what that means?

As far as I can tell, there isn't a solution in NI that both sides can possibly be happy with and that is the fault of Boris Johnson who didn't give a toss about NI when he Got Brexit Done, from the minute the referendum was called, to the minute we left the EU.

But I'm sure he's the one to solve that problem now?

LondonJax · 20/10/2022 17:22

What, bring back that liar? No. Absolutely not. He's lied to us about the parties (and regardless what some on here think, some of us think that is important as it goes to the character of the man). He lied to the Queen and to Parliament and then tried to snivel out of it like the worm he is. Dear God he even lied to his (now) ex wife when he knocked about with Carrie! The man is a wimp who, when he's backed into the corner, comes out lying and bumbling. And if he can't do that, he hides in the fridge. Says it all.

And if the Tories are now saying they can get someone in place before the end of the month, why did we have to suffer all those ridiculous hustings night after night? Just so Tory members could take their pick (and look what they managed to scrap up!) And they're being asked to vote again? Just as well Mr Blobby isn't around - they'd probably mistake him for Boris and vote him in! Mind you....

Nat6999 · 20/10/2022 17:23

If he gets back in will he get his £116k a year pay off for last time as well as his salary as PM? the way it is going it would have been cheaper to have a Premier League manager, 4 paid off in 6 years.

Turkey18 · 20/10/2022 17:24

No way. He was as useless as Truss

ClaudineClare · 20/10/2022 17:24

He needs 100 MPs to support him. Not going to happen.

WhataboutThewhataboutery · 20/10/2022 17:24

They’ll get him back as he’s their only hope of clinging to power when there’s a general election not because he’s competent but because he’s the best of a bad lot and has a charismatic presence

If they had morals they’d call a GE
