I don't think it shows that they are biased.

Cable is admitting that they have got some things wrong, that they have made some mistakes, that they did not foresee some things. That's not biased, that's not progressive, that is humble, realistic and conscientious.

They are not biased, they are not blinkered, they are not progressive. They will change and adapt. They will not bankrupt Britain to "save the planet", they won't plan policies on the false premise that "we have only 50 days left to save the planet". They will change their strategy.

Cable says there will be new public works announced in the coming month, in a bid to breathe life into the economy.

Biased? Yes, they are biased for Britain and its people, not "the planet". As Cable says they aren't masochists, they aren't progressive. They will try their best to do what is right for the country and the people, and they are not too high and mighty, too progressive, to admit that they sometimes make mistakes.

Well, seeing as I started the footie analogy on this thread,I have to say....

Did you see that goooaaaallll!!!!!! Arsenal...you are my God Wink

claig · 20/10/2011 07:39

Offside

crazynannawitchbitch · 20/10/2011 08:07

Yet again.....deludedclaig

claig · 20/10/2011 08:28

It has been alluded and even concluded, that Arsenal, so often secluded, with fans determinedly deluded, whom success has so long eluded, and in their own defeat have so often colluded, have victory veritably precluded. But none of this has occluded the magnificent 5-0 triumph of team Chelsea, who style and skill again exuded. How can that be referred to as deluded?

crazynannawitchbitch · 20/10/2011 08:30

I fell asleep after the word 'Arsenal' zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

claig · 20/10/2011 08:32

So do all true football fans.

crazynannawitchbitch · 20/10/2011 08:43

Grin.....Hmm

claig · 20/10/2011 08:49

As the Great Bard and Nostradamus both accurately predicted:

All the world's a stage,
And Arsenal and the progressives are merely players:
They have numerous exits and very few entrances;
And one man, Cameron be he, in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages, and his deeds resound through the ages;
With Cable, Osborne, Gove and the 'team', they have oft been referred to as the country's dream;
If they can't put things right, then there veritably be none that might,
and we shall all enter the pitch dark progressive night.

aquashiv · 20/10/2011 09:44

Claig - nice try you are full of shit love!

claig · 20/10/2011 09:47

aquahiv, there is no need to use progressive language

aquashiv · 20/10/2011 09:50

Well you really are on another plant! Your arguments arent factual you pluck little bits of anecdotal evidence and go off on this mad flights of fantasy. Now I need to go and do some work.

aquashiv · 20/10/2011 09:51

Perhaps you should do the same as you are so keen to get the country back on its feet?

claig · 20/10/2011 09:51

Remember that this is not the Arsenal terraces or a Guardian office meeting.

claig · 20/10/2011 09:53

'Well you really are on another plant'

I thoight it was clear that I am not progressive, I don't smoke such things.

claig · 20/10/2011 09:55

'Your arguments arent factual'

I suppose you think that 'we have only 50 days left to save the planet' is factual? The progressives have fooled you on purpose.

breadandbutterfly · 20/10/2011 15:24

claig, have you been smoking something funny? You appear to have lost touch with reality.

Also, could whoever started the football analogies please stop it as I don't understand them and it interferes with what might be a quite interesting thread for all non-footballites like myself. :)

Rhubarb0oooo · 20/10/2011 15:34

It really gets my goat when 'the team' keep banging on about solving the mess that Labour left behind. That's just buck-passing and playing the blame game. Every time a policy doesn't work, someone comes onto the news bleating about it being the fault of the Labour party because of the mess they left behind. Yeah well you've had over a year now and if you haven't cleared it up yet then you need a new bloody cleaner!

My dh has faced redundancy twice since the Tories got in. Now he's been told there is to be no overtime. His basic pay before overtime and bonuses is £14.5k pa. Which is far from being a livable wage.
I'm having to take on more and more work to make ends meet, which means I am neglecting time with the children and our family unit is pretty stressed. I probably earn around £10k a year working from home. We struggle to pay increasing energy bills (we've been walking around in woolly jumpers and gloves indoors today) and will often skip meat as it's too expensive. Holidays are taken with grandparents and we cannot afford to fix the broken car so are down to one car only, which takes dh the 30 miles to work and back - imagine how much that costs him.

Meanwhile 'the team' have abolished tax on large businesses bringing money back into the UK, so many companies have moved their accounts abroad to tax havens and then move it back into the UK without paying UK tax.

Bankers still get their bonuses, Cameron has NOT stopped the energy price monopoly (funny how they all put their prices up by the same rates at the same times isn't it?). They have absolutely no idea how people in the real world exist and don't really seem to care either. Much like claig.

Tell you what claig, you swap your life for mine for just one week, then tell me that 'the team' are on my side. Because you couldn't live my life. Even I'm struggling to do that and I am nowhere near in the desperate situation of some others on this site.

Hullygully · 20/10/2011 15:36

The Tories are trying to make Ayn Rand reality. They want to make everything about the market. Literally privatise everything, leave it all up to business in a giant and terrifying experiment.

I am astonished that everyone can't see it.

Hullygully · 20/10/2011 15:38

Gove, Osbourne and Fox are all linked to that delightful American neo-con business group that are ultimate monetarists. Really really scary.

claig · 20/10/2011 16:03

Everybody is struggling, because as Labour told us "sorry, there's no money left". Yes, energy prices are ridiculously and scandously high and some of it is due to our "save the planet" pals

www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2046961/Climate-change-zealots-wrecking-industry-Britain-possesses.html

Osborne has made noises saying he may make changes. Who knows if he will? The Coalition just followed on from our previous climate change chums.

Yes, Hully, you are right. Lots of them are in favour of privatisation etc., and I also think that that is wrong. But do you really believe that Tony Blair et al. were different? Just as the Coalition followed on from the climate change chums, so free schools follow on from Blair's academies etc. etc.

Which lot are worse for the country? Which lot left a note saying "sorry, there's no money left"? Which lot may well have left a future note saying "sorry, there's no liberty left?"

The 'team' is not ideal and I think they have got lots wrong. They follow on from the climate change chums, but I think they are better than the alternative.

niceguy2 · 20/10/2011 16:11

Exactly Craig.

That's the problem with lefty policies though isn't it? They're always bleating about injustice and how the government should do x,y & z instead of .

Funnily enough it's always the "rich" who should pay because that way, it doesn't actually cost them anything and somebody else foots the bill.

Brilliant.

Rhubarb0oooo · 20/10/2011 16:13

You linked to a DailyRant article? You fool!

That is just Tory propaganda. The energy companies are making huge, record profits so how is that linked to green energy? Surely the only link there is greed?

And I'm very sorry mate, but when the country is in a mess you do not expect ordinary people to pick up the tab whilst bankers and energy companies toast their record profits.

There is no bloody alternative. I am sickened by the expenses scandal that hit all political parties. I am sickened by the huge salaries MPs are on. I am sickened by record profits. I am sickened by politicians paying their partner and other family members to do jobs that could be taken by ordinary jobseekers, but no, they'd rather line their own pockets. The whole system is corrupt; Labour, Tories, Lib Dems, they are all corrupt bastards who look on whilst the rest of us flounder.

Large businesses started leaving the country in drones thanks to Thatcher's policies and now the Tories appear to be encouraging them to do so by allowing such tax loopholes to exist. Why should they stay and pay high UK tax when they can move their main office abroad, pay a quarter of the tax and then move that money back to the UK whilst avoiding paying a penny of UK tax?

It stinks. So stop sucking up to them claig. And spout your DailyMail trash elsewhere, it's highly offensive on here.
