Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

Praying for healing and rest where needed!

LovingtheSilverFox · 30/07/2009 14:24

To those mums whose los are poorly, am praying that they are healed soon.

mjim - am praying for your nights, that the terrors calm and a sense of peace and love descends on the myjob house tonight.

I am having a very trying day, although not about to burst into tears which would have happened in the past, DD1 is pushing me to the limits and beyond. I just feel I have spent all day shouting at her so far, and not seems to be helping [sigh].

Am going to try painting and sticking as a distraction! I may be back later glue-y and painted!

ZipadiSoozi · 30/07/2009 16:07

CD - lol I'd said widdle twanky cause of the rain

Sorry more me me me prayers...

DS2 Sick n high temperature, don't know when we'll get off on holidays [sigh] caravan half packed, may have to unpack! prayers ds gets better soon and that nobody else gets this 'tummy bug'

It never rains it pours!

positiveattitudeonly · 30/07/2009 17:51

So sorry to hear about all the poorly LO s! Praying for health and peace for all.

It all sounds a little difficult for some of you lovely ladies too. Many prayers for you, for peace and energy!

Mjim - praying for your night-times to be touched by God.

Sooz - I pray that you are still able to get away and have a relaxing ( with children????) or at least enjoyable time!

All good here. Juggling kids and work during holidays is definitely so much easier this year now they are older. Thanks and praise for that!
DH supposed to be off work next week, but his deputy's wife in hospital, so he will have to cancel his holiday if things don't get sorted soon. Prayers please for health and patience for me if all our plans have to be cancelled! (how selfish is that).

Also can I ask for prayers for God's guidance for DD3's education for next year. She will be starting year 11, but has not been well enough to go at all last year. She has been enjoying God's healing in an amazing way and should be well enough to go back to some education in September, but the big question is where? Ideally, a small specialist unit COULD be available, but at the moment they do not have any other yr11s.
I think social integration is going to be vital, so really unsure! Many thanks.

Love to all.

CaptainDippy · 01/08/2009 08:14

Am currently in an internet cafe at the big sheep. For some reason, its not displaying posters' names, only messages, so praying for you all, if not by name, by prayer request, God knows who you are!

Weather has not been brilliant and it is raining now. But we are not letting it spoil our holiday

God bless all!

DutchOma · 03/08/2009 10:42

Hopefully the lack of movement on this thread means that everybody is hapy and/or on holiday?

DutchOma · 03/08/2009 19:49

Happy birthday PAO's dd. Are you having a party?

OP posts:
positiveattitudeonly · 03/08/2009 20:25

Thanks DutchOma. No party for a few weeks as she is living away due to her job and will only be able to come and visit later in the month. We will celebrate then. She is out with friends and the family she lives with this evening and we have spent a lot of time on the phone today sending telephone hugs and cuddles!

Notquitegrownup · 04/08/2009 10:07

Just popping in....we are finally unlocked at Foxy Manor, very nice man from the window company was disgusted that we had been left like it for over a week! Also have been a little poorly (just to stay "in trend" on this thread!) but not too bad.

We have had a few rocky days, suprisingly at the weekend, not when I was here on my own! DH said something which I assumed to be a dig at me and my child rearing abilities. It turned into a huge stand up row, in front of DD1 (I am very ashamed to say ). Once we had calmed down, it had actually aired a few things, but I wasn't feeling well, and was a bit down, and it escalated.

All better now, and DD1 seems unscathed, but I will try not to repeat that performance.

My prayers for everyone on this thread, I always think of you, even if I don't get to log on.

BTW - my dear brother did the Excel London triathlon on Saturday, and posted a cracking time! My Dad gave the classic comment "if he could speed up on the run, he would post a faster time"! Terrific! My brother thanked him for the advice ! I really need to start excercising again!

amberlight · 04/08/2009 13:58

Prayers for everyone. Have missed you all.

Notquitegrownup · 04/08/2009 14:23

Hi Amber

Mufti/Jently/Panda - are you around and lurking these days or busy, busy, busy?

DutchOma · 04/08/2009 14:45

Waves to Amber and to
Soozi (via CD via text .
