Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

frAKKINPannikin · 23/07/2009 22:08

Prayers

NSFN - praying so hard for your friend, her dsd and dsgs(?) and your other friend and her nephew

sophable - sending you comforting prayers and glad you're feeling okay about it all. Hold onto the hope that things will happen, just in the Lord's time not ours for whatever reason. He has a plan and we just need to run the race marked out for us.

Sooz - sending prayers your way that God can heal and help.

PAO - that God blesses the community weekend in whatever way it needs

Praise

Weegiemum - for a fab time away and for not being to incapacitated!

LTSF - for your good 2 days!

PAO - for your daughter having had such a great time!

Praise and prayers for:

ME and DH2B - he got the job he really wanted, we prayed so hard about it and we know it's the right thing to do. Praise that I didn't go through the stress of handing in my notice for nothing - God's hand was truly on us there! He moves on the 31st of August, I don't know what I'm doing yet but it's all quite exciting. The sad bit is leaving the great church we have here and the real community that we've found. We'd love to come back some day but right now it's time to step off the mountain top and do something else. His family are very proud. Mine are very unenthusiastic. I don't know how we're supposed to organise a wedding from halfway round the world and we have to pack! Please pray it all goes smoothly from now.

My current employer's family - the grandmother is still very ill but we had a good week there and we'll be going back the middle 2 weeks of August.

LovingtheSilverFox · 24/07/2009 17:35

FP - yeah! Hi five, hi five, hi.... never mind.

soph - sorry to hear, but as others have said, things will happen in His time.

mjim - praying for your family.

Everything swell in Foxy Manor, we have had a good week, only 7 more to good. Thanks for your prayers.

It was helped today that my Mum and Dad took DD1 to their house, I locked the door behind them, and now can't unlock it! The double glazing company refuse to cover a locksmith bill, and because we have rear access (limited, and unsecure) won't be able to get to me until 6th August. WHAT?! So I am locked in, with my computer for company, and am forced to MN to keep my sanity and stop me from losing it with the chap on the phone! Please pray that they can get someone to me before the 6th. Two weeks, are they serious??!!

turnedupsidedown · 25/07/2009 09:13

Please pray for ds2 who has suspected chicken pox; for dd2 who has a chest and ear infection-probably strep infection not flu and for dd1 who has the same symptoms and enormous white spotty tonsils-but gp refuses to see her despite having seen her sister. IT makes no sense- they share a bedroom- they share germs-no one else in the family has these symptoms.......

DutchOma · 25/07/2009 10:46

Has the GP prescribed medication for dd2 which he is willing to also prescribe for dd1 without seeing her?
Prayers for all in a sicky household and for you as you deal with it.

Evening all. Flying by. Can I ask for a little prayer please? We have our Australian relatives staying - four little boys running around all day. I am sooooo tired and have soooo much to do this week - and it's ds2's birthday on Friday for which I am totally unprepared.

Praying that our Father God will hold us all close to Him.

God bless all.

positiveattitudeonly · 27/07/2009 07:50

NQGU - Prayers for energy and peace amongst the chaos for you. Have a good week and I hope you can "escape" for some time for yourself too.

TUSD - praying your dcs health is improving.

LtSF - LOL about the locks, sorry! This is just the sort of crazy thing that happens to me! Praying for lots of fun and laughter at foxy manor!

Community weekend went really well. We were priveleged to pray for a number of people each day and thousands of people having fun!
Totally exhausted and have somehow agreed to have my friends children today ! Big breath and pray for 6pm!!!!

Prayers for all you lovely ladies, and especially those who don't feel so lovely!!

turnedupsidedown · 27/07/2009 08:22

ds2 has chicken pox unusually all over the sole of his foot and cannot walk. DD2 still unwell and dd1 seems to have recovered a little. Please pray for wisdom as I decide what course of action to take with the GP who was so rude to me......

Do give thanks for the amazing healing service last night at church!!

Praying....

DutchOma · 27/07/2009 09:06

TUSD:- If you can let the GP's attitude and rudeness go, let it go. If you think that it may affect other people as well have a word with the senior partner in the practice or the practice manager.
The stress for GPs must be incredible at the moment, but that is no excuse for rudeness.
So sorry to hear about chicken pox on the sole of feet, that must be so sore, poor ds2.
Giving thanks with you for the healing service at church.

Praying for you and your Australian rellies NQGU. Pity the weather is not better (at least it isn't here) or you could shove them out into the garden in the morning and into the bath at night. Do the 'four little boys' include your two?

Lovely to hear about the community weekend PAO, we have a community barbecue coming up in September, but that is geared totally towards the community and fun and will not have an openly Christian message to it.

Have you managed to locate a locksmith yet Silver Fox?

It was a little more than just rudeness......

LovingtheSilverFox · 27/07/2009 11:40

Hello all!

turnedupsidedown - am praying for your family, children seem to get very ill very quickly, but thankfully them seem to get over it quicker as well.

DO - no locksimth, DH insisted on jiggling it when he got home from work, and seems to have sorted it, although there is one key we cannot use for some reason! They have managed to find someone to come to us on Thursday which is slightly more practical, but still a bit much iyswim. I am just hoping we can move soon! That way if anything else goes wrong it isn't our problem!

Praying for you all ladies, we have very drizzly weather here, so DD1 is rolling around on the floor, bored. Have tried to entertain her but she refuses to be entertained! Hope its better where you are! x

DutchOma · 27/07/2009 12:11

Sorry, very me, me, me this week. We are all fine really (though I have a tricky work situation too, and would appreciate prayer that I handle it tactfully/lovingly (especially being tired) and be able to hand it all over to the one who is soverign and wise and loving . . . .)

God bless all. Holding you all in my prayers - but not MNing much!

Soozi - praying for your family x

God works in our lives - after my post things went a bit downhill here, saw my neighbour in the garden whilst hanging out washing, she invited us to her son's 2 birthday party this afternoon. DD1 got to run around with some big girls, which she loved, and there were other mums cooing over the twins, so could relax slightly. He really did listen when I called for help.

CaptainDippy · 29/07/2009 11:08

Prayers for your mummy and daddy Sooz How are things in Mad Sooz Land? wish we lived closer. xx

SilverFox - He certainly does!!

ZipadiSoozi · 29/07/2009 12:25

ZipadiSoozi · 29/07/2009 12:27
