Family mediation centre, as the wise DRLove suggested, sounds the safe and sensible way to go. You could also ask WA's advice on this one, as I think you have a contact there?

Jux · 30/05/2009 15:13

Gorgeous weekend isn't it?

What did you decide to do? What did you feel like doing?

Hope you're enjoying your freedom.

mistlethrush · 30/05/2009 20:42

So happy to hear about the house Stars!!!

And great news that its furnished - less to worry about.

Please don't tell H where you are - at least for the moment.

I'm sure that your children are of an age where they could tell the address - please tell them that you don't want H turning up there at the moment.

Looking forward to you being back on line again!

Flibbertyjibbet · 30/05/2009 23:20

Popcorn maker all parcelled up and addressed - just need to get to the post office Monday lunchtime.

I had such a smile this evening, has anyone else seen the ad for sky tv or film 4 or whatever it is, with Christian Slater saying 'its just like being at the cinema... all I need is a popcorn maker'

He is one of my fave actors, I am tempted to send it to him but then he can probably afford several warner bros size popcorn makers for each of his homes!

Stars don't worry about him getting your address, no one will tell him if you tell them not to.

Be careful with his family though, if they start to get in touch all concerned about you and try to wheedle your whereabouts. Exps brother (who had told me for years to leave him so I thought he was sympathetic) got out of me where I was staying (he was pretending to be sooooo concerned about me) and within half an hour I had exp turn up at the friends house I was staying at, threatening, screaming, causing scenes

minesacheeseandpicklesandwich · 01/06/2009 10:03

Flibberty Everytime I see that ad I think of you and Stars and Dread and all that's happened here. Fab, isn't it!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm willing to put money on it that Stars did!!!

nitemare · 01/06/2009 11:42

Update us Dread Pirate so we know she's ok

theDreadPirateRoberts · 01/06/2009 13:58

She's OK - sorry haven't been around - DS and I ill over weekend, so mostly concentrating on getting him well for school today.

Will have more of an update tomorrow, once I've had a chance for a proper chat. And she gets her internet sorted sometime on Wednesday, so she can update you all herself then

BradfordMum · 01/06/2009 14:13

Thanks Dread x x x

Jux · 01/06/2009 14:17

So sorry you're ill DP. How is ds? DD has been complaining about her tummy, but I think it's schoolitis so we packed her off regardless this morning like the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL parents we are!

Good news Stars. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

treedelivery · 01/06/2009 14:17

Hope it's going well Stars and you have had a great weekend of sun and fun with your dc's, in your family home safe and sound.

Hope internet works out for you this week.

theDreadPirateRoberts · 01/06/2009 15:01

Thanks Jux - just a slight vomit and a lot of sleepiness, so packed off to school today and I get to catch up on slobbing around housework

Stayingsunnygirl · 01/06/2009 17:14

We've sorted out a couple of dvds for stars' children, if she's got a dvd player, Dread.

Portofino · 01/06/2009 18:14

Thanks for the updates! Looking forward to hearing from Stars when she gets connected!

Horton · 02/06/2009 16:18

Stars, looking forward to hearing from you in person!

Hope your boy feels better soon, dread. Poor little thing.

theDreadPirateRoberts · 02/06/2009 19:04

Boy fine thanks - well enough to be annoying anyway

Saw Stars this morning - she's pretty busy atm sorting out schools and so on, but crossing fingers that the interweb will be hers once more tomorrow

nitemare · 02/06/2009 19:08

Is he leaving her alone?

theDreadPirateRoberts · 02/06/2009 19:41

He's being calm and formal, but warning bells ring for me:

o he thinks she they should avoid solicitors 'to save money'
o he's phoned the LEA and told them she's taken the kids out of school and doesn't know where they are, but they could stay with him and go to school as normal
o he's phoned the tax credits people ('because he had a legal obligation to tell them') to stop the claim - before she had a chance to tell them of the new circs - so that she may lose money, and it may take up to 6 weeks to get the new claim going
o he wants them for the weekend coming
o he's complained about her leaving him in the house without any food, but not offered a penny towards feeding the kids

Don't worry - she's seeing the solicitor on Friday, has an appointment with school this week, and I've asked her to completely avoid the weekend thing until she's got proper advice from the solicitor.

I've never met this man and I loathe him from the core of my being...

Glad to hear Stars is doing well Dread, but I believe you might be spot on with your danger radar. He sounds horrid and it seems his demands and moans are all concerning his welfare, not one mention of what might be best for the children. It's all about control. He is so used to everything being on his terms, it's become second nature to him. Boy is he in for a shock in the months to come!

girlandboy · 02/06/2009 20:14

He was quick on the tax credits thing wasn't he?

The LEA will have the childrens names on record soon at the new school.

Such a shame about being left with little food. Blimey, I hope he doesn't run out of bread and milk. He shouldn't run out of basics should he!

NoTart · 02/06/2009 20:52

Dread, I don´t know if warning bells should be ringing as such.. my guess is he behaves absolutely normally with everyone EXCEPT Stars, and he will want to keep up a certain face, hence behaving seemingly reasonably.

His true colours will come through though, eg. compaining re no food in the house, ho ho!

Stars, I hope you are receiving advice from WA, who can make sure you jump through all the right hoops in the right order, so your h does not get any ammunition against you at all.

Dalrymps · 02/06/2009 21:23

Stars - Glad you're managing to sort everything out and stay so strong! You're doing so so well. Keep ignoring Xh and do what *you8 need to do for yourselves ie solicitor etc

You're amazing
