That is amazing news, and it has brought a smile to my face as I picture stars and the children in their new home, starting their new, happy life. No-one deserves it more.

I'd like to offer some help getting stars set up with the things she needs, and I also have one or two bits put aside for her - little treats rather than necessities, so if you could email me your address, DreadPirate, I'll post them on down to you.

Also, does she have a dvd player, because if so, the boys might have some dvds that they don't watch any more, that I could easily send. I have been telling them about stars and her journey, and I know they'd like to send something from them for her children.

I've got a childs duvet sized duvet cover and pillow which is unisex.
I can get kids dvds from work so can send a selection if I can get some hints at what stars DC's might most enjoy.

It might be helpful if, at some point, stars or dread could post a list of what stars needs most and then we could all post if we have the thing. I've got so much hanging around at home that is not used - too much to list here.

What do you think dread/stars? I might also be able to lay hands on a dvd player.

That's a good idea Sycamoretree. If you post a list here, Stars or Dread, then we can see what is needed/wanted. I know Stars has got some stuff out over the last few weeks. I don't know what we've got just like that, but I could look at a list and say Oh gosh we've got one of those hiding in a heap somewhere, iyswim!

I can't remember whereabouts either of you are, either.

A list would be brilliant - I am sure it would remind me of stuff I have lying around that I would be happy to donate.

I am quite a way away but I think I also have an Argos voucher kicking around that I haven't found anything to buy with. I can't remember if it's for £10 or £20 but I will dig it out. I can easily send it if Dread could give me an address to post it to.

A quick post because in one way and another it's been a long day, and I fancy frivolling on other threads

Saw Stars again today, took around some stuff that I'd taken a while ago (including cookery books, so no need for those). She'll be back on line, BT permitting, next Wednesday, but we went through the recent stuff here on my phone, so she knows what you're all saying .

As to stuff she needs - she's in a furnished place, and really doesn't need much. I will come back to everyone who's mailed me - promise - but when I've got my business head together again [sorry].

In the meantime, yes please to the coffee machine - Stars is more of a tea drinker but I'm a girl for the black stuff . And the steamer would be lovely?

But I will get to my email and make proper lists etc by the end of the week.
