Looking back over the thread it is amazing how much has happened in just over a month:

First of all giving thanks for imminent and not so imminent 'beans'
Bobsmum - 36 weeks is it? Struggling with elephant feelings
Podglet on maternity leave now; CS booked for 15th April
Myjobismum - giving thanks for normal scan 14 weeks now and feeling more positive.
CaptainCaveman - give thanks for willyflashing bean. So sad about the lady seen in clinic with a 20 week pregnancy that is no longer viable, Lord have mercy.

Just flagging up some urgent prayer needs

FAQ (Queenofquotes) - marriage has broken up, struggling with life on her own with three dss. Situation not improved by the fact that her lovely vicar had a comprehensive breakdown and is in hospital. Praying for things to keep improving and giving thanks for friends around her.
Podmog Struggling with many issues - Lord bring peace and calm in all situations and relationships.
Praying also for Notsofarnow who is back at work but not finding life that easy.

CaptainDippy and ZipadiSuzy both struggling with rather parallel issues:- unfamiliar work and not a lot of money. Praying for perseverance and rest.
Swaliswan too is getting used to a new job which thankfully she enjoys more than she expected too. Struggling with dh being away a lot and mil threatening a visit straight after dh comes back.

MaryBS who has had such a lot of work to do and who is going for more clarity on a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. Praying also for her friend K who will have an operation for cancer on Wednesday.
Also praying for Amber32002 who bravely went to church a few weeks back and who is talking about disability issues with people in the Church at high level.

Praying for Roseylea for clarity of thought on a 'thing that has cropped up'.

Giving thanks with Worzella and Notquitegrownup for enjoyable far away holidays

Praying for Panda's mum with chest infection.

Praying for OJ and Steve, Steve should be home by now but apparently there is some problem with transport. Lord, how we need you in this very hard situation, joy tinged with sadness.

And for all not mentioned NorthernLurker, Mufti, PenpotEca (how are things now sweetheart?) and anybody else - lets get praying.

We're off this weekend! DH is delivering kids to his Mum this afternoon (till Monday) and we are going with 4 friends to Coventry for a conferencerun jointly by the Northumbria Community and the Anabaptist Network here . Exciting! Long way to go but we think this might just be significant for what we do inthe future and we are also going with some like-minded friends who are great fun to be with.

Anyone know a good church in Coventry for Sunday morning?

Hi MJIM. Praying for you. It must be a stressful time with them mucking up DH's pay. Glad to hear that you and DS are feeling a bit better.

Roseylea · 02/05/2008 14:59

Hellooooo! Just popping in v. v. quickly to say please look at the MeetUp thread - the date that is looking likeliest is Saturday the 14th June. Please post there and let me know how many of you can come so that we can sort out a definite date and venue! Thank you!

Love to all xxx

meetup thread

MaryBS · 02/05/2008 15:22

MJIM it sounds really strange, most companies WANT to pay their employees monthly as it is more hassle paying weekly, for precisely the reasons you state. I really don't see how it could be more hassle paying weekly, unless everyone else is paid weekly and he is the only monthly. You could try refusing, I'm not sure how far this'll get you - they may offer to compensate you for the inconvenience, that is what some companies do. They are not allowed to force something on you if it makes you worse off though.

Enjoy your conference in Coventry Weegiemum!

Its difficult because its more HR than Payroll, there are a few HR experts on MN, you could post in "Employment Issues", to see if anyone can help...

MaryBS · 02/05/2008 20:15

Also, what does his contract say? If his contract says he is paid weekly, they can't just change it just like that, he would need to sign a new contract!

ZipadiSuzy · 03/05/2008 10:52

Flat, uninspiring, day, just got up, dh working, as usual, house still a mess, really getting me down now! lack of storage, no place for alot of things, so house wrecked and I have to live in it, nobody else seems to care, so why should I!

So I am on strike, with a long face, so low again! no help with the dc (never) none of my family take them off my hands so I can get on, I tidy one room and another gets trashed.

Sorry moaning, always the same though, everybody around me enjoying bank holiday weekend and I'm stuck at home in a tip all grumpy! can't be bothered to make an effort with anybody or anything, sod the lot of them! I'm tooooo tired to go out!

mufti · 03/05/2008 12:49

SUZY - can you not rope the dcs in to help, perhaps with a bribe, i mean promes , of a treat after?
we are away tomorrow , and i dislike packing, plus i have a cold, and not have not slept much for ages, so really tired, so need to force myself, hope its a dry few days.

mufti · 03/05/2008 12:50

thta should say promise of a treat btw

mufti · 03/05/2008 13:01

dont know how to link but lewisfan has posted a
link to a john waller song in the philosopy.. topic, worth a listen

MaryBS · 03/05/2008 18:03

I've just been to a mediaeval mass re-enactment. it comes to something when you can SMELL the church before you see it! (Incense) . I could smell incense just before I came round the corner and saw the church!

DutchOma · 03/05/2008 20:01

Here's the link to the John Waller song. Urban taught me how to do links. The song is lovely

Haven't caught up yet; but will do later.

Love & Prayers to all. xxxx

amber32002 · 04/05/2008 08:41

Hi everyone,

Thank you once again for your prayers. I made it to the meeting full of people I hadn't met before, and hubby and I really enjoyed the day. It was great to find a visitor information centre who wanted to help, and were very interested in all I could tell them about access issues. They're going to be rewriting their disability policy to include autistic spectrum access now, they say .

Prayers for everyone who's feeling bloomin' fed up/stressed out/sad/worried/ill. Thinking of you all.

MaryBS · 04/05/2008 18:52

DO - that song IS lovely! Really touched my heart! One of the other links next to it had the same song, and stunning visuals to go with it:

So much prayer needed here

I realise that OJ says they are not 'religious' but what else can any of us offer than prayer?

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 05/05/2008 18:32

Prayers for OJ and Steve and family.

Welcome back CD, hope you had a nice time?

MJIM praising God with you that dh's salary issues have been resolved! Praying that they continue to go well.

Please could you pray for our house sale? We had a couple round today who seemed very positive but then most people do when they look round! I prayed about this alot on Friday night, then on Saturday we got a call from the estate agent asking if this couple could visit. So I'm praising God for keeping my hopes alive by answering my prayer that someone came to look at the house at least. Just need them to make an offer now!

amber32002 · 05/05/2008 19:39

Have posted on the OJ thread, especially given I just may be able to do something useful re the kids and autism.

Prayers aplenty for us all, including those trying to get their house sale done (us too, now the chain's collapsed on ours...)

MaryBS · 06/05/2008 08:27

MJIM - I have a book by M J Smith, and I'd never heard of him prior to buying it - he
is an inspirational writer as well!

Praying for OJ and Steve...

The medics had to come out to K on Friday - she had a reaction to her chemo, and was admitted to hospital. She's out again now, but please hold her in your prayers.

Please also pray for S, who has terminal cancer. She is a friend of my mother's, became a Christian partly as a result of her last set of cancers, which then came back... she is petrified of dying. Also S's husband who is also awaiting results of a biopsy...
