Praying through April - Come snow, come shine

DutchOma · 07/04/2008 17:24

Looking back over the thread it is amazing how much has happened in just over a month:

First of all giving thanks for imminent and not so imminent 'beans'
Bobsmum - 36 weeks is it? Struggling with elephant feelings
Podglet on maternity leave now; CS booked for 15th April
Myjobismum - giving thanks for normal scan 14 weeks now and feeling more positive.
CaptainCaveman - give thanks for willyflashing bean. So sad about the lady seen in clinic with a 20 week pregnancy that is no longer viable, Lord have mercy.

Just flagging up some urgent prayer needs

FAQ (Queenofquotes) - marriage has broken up, struggling with life on her own with three dss. Situation not improved by the fact that her lovely vicar had a comprehensive breakdown and is in hospital. Praying for things to keep improving and giving thanks for friends around her.
Podmog Struggling with many issues - Lord bring peace and calm in all situations and relationships.
Praying also for Notsofarnow who is back at work but not finding life that easy.

CaptainDippy and ZipadiSuzy both struggling with rather parallel issues:- unfamiliar work and not a lot of money. Praying for perseverance and rest.
Swaliswan too is getting used to a new job which thankfully she enjoys more than she expected too. Struggling with dh being away a lot and mil threatening a visit straight after dh comes back.

MaryBS who has had such a lot of work to do and who is going for more clarity on a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. Praying also for her friend K who will have an operation for cancer on Wednesday.
Also praying for Amber32002 who bravely went to church a few weeks back and who is talking about disability issues with people in the Church at high level.

Praying for Roseylea for clarity of thought on a 'thing that has cropped up'.

Giving thanks with Worzella and Notquitegrownup for enjoyable far away holidays

Praying for Panda's mum with chest infection.

Praying for OJ and Steve, Steve should be home by now but apparently there is some problem with transport. Lord, how we need you in this very hard situation, joy tinged with sadness.

And for all not mentioned NorthernLurker, Mufti, PenpotEca (how are things now sweetheart?) and anybody else - lets get praying.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 27/04/2008 09:23

Praying for a quick return to health sweetheart. xx

Have heard a little from FAQ, she is doing "ok", but "ok", I think she is struggling through, poor love.

I am being a melodramtic, neurotic mummy today - prayers needed to get me through. Especially for P to maintain routine while we are away, please ......

Argh!!

FAQ · 27/04/2008 15:26

sorry haven't updated for a while, not really up to checking all my threads I'm on at the moment, so mainly sticking to my most recent thread (which followed on from the "Does anyone know/live near FAQ" one) here

It's rather long already, but it's got most of my updates on.

jalopy · 27/04/2008 21:12

Hello. I've not posted on this section before. Hope you don't mind me dropping in.

Please could you say a prayer for my mum. She's had chemo and surgery over the last year and is currently awaiting a ct scan result tomorrow.

Feeling incredibly anxious for her and for my dad.

Thank you for your support.

notsofarnow · 27/04/2008 21:40

Today has been good one of our youth was enrolled as senior soldier this morning hall was full and about 20 of his school mates came which was fab.

Tonight xh and I have been to what was our first appointment it was their last meeting before hall is knocked down and rebuilt, so new beginings all round really.

Brought back a lot of memories but hey ho.

I'm applying for a job so if its the right job can you pray that I get it - it sounds ideal. Its outreach worker with victim support, with flexible hours. Please pray that i manage to fill out the application form in a way that they actually want to read it let alone get an interview.

Good morning all - specially Mufti! You've not posted for ages, but I guessed you might be lurking!

Welcome Jalopy. Praying that our heavenly father may wrap you and your mum in His arms today, and that you might know his peace, and know that he is with you throughout this worrying time - as ever.

Have a great hols CD and Mufti. I really enjoyed CP when ours were little. It's perfect for them.

Prayers for all. God bless.

DutchOma · 28/04/2008 10:01

Prayers for you and your mum Jalopy. May you have the peace of the Lord around you whatever the outcome. Praying particularly for your dad as well, men find it so much harder to cope with these things and are not always able to talk about it.
Have a wonderful time CD and Mufti, has Mary got your mobile number?

Weegiemum · 28/04/2008 12:56

Thanks you all for your lovely welcomes backs!

I am fine, very busy with college as it is my last term, but delighted as an essay last term is being beefed up for publication! So I am feeling a bit smug.

Had a bit of a dip in Jan/Feb but am all better now. Our big prayer request is for our dd2, who was diagnosed recently with Perthes Disease, which is a degenerative hip condition. She's not allowed to run, jump or walk much for 18 months and is in quite a lot of pain sometimes. It is self limiting and self repairing in a child of her age, but I am going to have to do something about my hair, as it is getting very odd looking from too much time in the swimming pool! (she is to swim every day if possible!).

jalopy · 28/04/2008 16:19

Thank you so much for your lovely replies. I was so touched by your responses.

The CT result showed that there is no further growths in her chest, liver or bone but a couple of local affected lymph nodes in her abdomen. Could have been worse. My mum and dad are coping well. Just waiting now to hear about her future treatment.

I pray she remains well, painfree and enjoys a good quality of life in these last few years.

Thank you all once again.

I'll pop in again

PandaG · 28/04/2008 16:40

thanks for updating us Jalopy, glad it is good news

DD's ear is fine today, hoping it doesn't start up again tonight...she had pain in the night a couple of weeks ago, then nothing.

much love xx

MaryBS · 28/04/2008 16:49

Thanks for the update Jalopy, will the lymph nodes need to be removed? Will pray, but let us know how she gets on.

K went back to the consultant's today. She will need 6 months of radiotherapy, to ensure that its all gone, but on the whole, they are pleased with her.

C wasn't at work today, she is going for blood tests, but apparently is OK.

I had a dreadful day at work, and am expecting another bad day tomorrow. For 2 pins I'd quit, but we need the money...

bobsmum · 28/04/2008 17:41

Hi everyone!

DutchOma - a lovely parcel arrived this morning - thank you so much!!! Just need to find out who's going to fill the cardigan and when Can't believe your name is the same as dd's, your dh is the same as ds and your surname is the same as all of us - talk about huge coincidence!!!!

CD - thanks for remembering dh's birthday - he spent most of it finishing the lounge, but we're pretty much there now.

3 days overdue and counting. SPD varies depending on baby's position and whether I've been doing to much. I can get about either walking v v slowly or in a wheelchair. Definitely faster in a wheelchair - dd loves sitting on my lap

MJIM, praying for you husband's gran, it's always a worry when elderly people have to spend time in hospital. Is he able to visit?
Hope you are sooon able to rest a bit.

Podmog, praying for your ds too, asthma is a frightening thing, he has ended up in hospital too hasn't he?

Bobsmum, yes it is all a huge coincidence isn't it? Glad you like the little cardy, was hoping that you would feel it was appropriate for either type of baby. Praying for speedy delivery with minimal intervention.

notsofarnow · 28/04/2008 22:39

MJIM, praying for your GMIL. Glad you had a good holiday!

Podmog, praying for DS, that this allergy can be managed. How are you in yourself?

I am expecting another bad day at work, including a conference call with a customer which the head of dept will be sitting in on. Please pray it goes well... I'm just about ready to quit, and I can't because we need the money!

Oh, and I might have found a retreat, 6-8 June. Just waiting for more details, and need to talk to DH about it...
