Looking back over the thread it is amazing how much has happened in just over a month:

First of all giving thanks for imminent and not so imminent 'beans'
Bobsmum - 36 weeks is it? Struggling with elephant feelings
Podglet on maternity leave now; CS booked for 15th April
Myjobismum - giving thanks for normal scan 14 weeks now and feeling more positive.
CaptainCaveman - give thanks for willyflashing bean. So sad about the lady seen in clinic with a 20 week pregnancy that is no longer viable, Lord have mercy.

Just flagging up some urgent prayer needs

FAQ (Queenofquotes) - marriage has broken up, struggling with life on her own with three dss. Situation not improved by the fact that her lovely vicar had a comprehensive breakdown and is in hospital. Praying for things to keep improving and giving thanks for friends around her.
Podmog Struggling with many issues - Lord bring peace and calm in all situations and relationships.
Praying also for Notsofarnow who is back at work but not finding life that easy.

CaptainDippy and ZipadiSuzy both struggling with rather parallel issues:- unfamiliar work and not a lot of money. Praying for perseverance and rest.
Swaliswan too is getting used to a new job which thankfully she enjoys more than she expected too. Struggling with dh being away a lot and mil threatening a visit straight after dh comes back.

MaryBS who has had such a lot of work to do and who is going for more clarity on a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. Praying also for her friend K who will have an operation for cancer on Wednesday.
Also praying for Amber32002 who bravely went to church a few weeks back and who is talking about disability issues with people in the Church at high level.

Praying for Roseylea for clarity of thought on a 'thing that has cropped up'.

Giving thanks with Worzella and Notquitegrownup for enjoyable far away holidays

Praying for Panda's mum with chest infection.

Praying for OJ and Steve, Steve should be home by now but apparently there is some problem with transport. Lord, how we need you in this very hard situation, joy tinged with sadness.

And for all not mentioned NorthernLurker, Mufti, PenpotEca (how are things now sweetheart?) and anybody else - lets get praying.

Praying for everyone here, for all who are facing illness or exhaustion or pain or who are worried sick about someone else or how they'll cope with things today.

Our house chain has officially collapsed so we are back on the market (sigh). Another viewing tomorrow evening, so hopefully things will go well. So stressful having people I don't know in the house, though. Prayers please that all will be well, and prayers also for me being brave enough to go to a meet-up on Saturday with a lot more people I've never met before. I just have to convince myself I can do it...

bobsmum · 29/04/2008 10:51

Just wanted to share these beautiful words from a book I'm reading about Mother Teresa. They're her words on prayer...

"I always begin my prayer in silence, for it is in the silence of the heart that God speaks. God is the friend of silence - we need to listen to God because it is not what we say but what He says to us and through us that matters. Prayer feeds the soul - as blood is to the body, prayer is to the soul and it brings you closer to God. It also gives you a clean and pure heart. A clean heart can see God, can speak to God and can see the love of God in others. When you have a clean heart it means you are open and honest with God, you are not hiding anything from Him and this lets Him take what He wants from you.

If you are searching for God and do not know where to begin, learn to pray and take the trouble to pray every day. You can pray any time, anywhere. You do not have to be in a church or a chapel. You can pray at work - work doesn't have to stop prayer and prayer doesn't have to stop work. You can also consult a priest or minister for guidance, or try speaking directly to God. Just speak. Tell Him everything, talk to Him. He is our father, He is father to us all whatever religion we are. We are all created by God, we are his children. We have to put our trust in Him and love Him, believe in Him, work for Him, trust Him. If we pray, we will get all the answers we need"

CaptainCaveman · 29/04/2008 21:34

Joining in with prayers for Bobsmum! Looking forwards to your lovely birth news very soon......

I feel like I've been lazy lately and not posting on here so frequently. I'd really appreciate your prayers for me to slow down and take things easy. I always feel like I'm rushing around when i should sit down with my feet up. Probably no coincidence that I dont' currently have a bible reading 'book' to follow - I was reading with 'Closer to God' but stopped getting this as it was a little prescriptive. Any suggestions what i could use instead?

Praying for you all and feeling useless because I can;t keep up!

ps. am now 24+2 weeks pg!!! praise God

DutchOma · 29/04/2008 21:54

Prayers for Bobsmum in the first place, peace and joy be with you. Prayers for dd too.

Good to hear that you can visit GMil would be even worse if she were at the other end of the country.

Glad the meeting went ok Mary.

Amber you are definitely going to cope sweetheart, the Lord is with you :"With my God I can leap over a wall". Sorry to hear about the house.

Just a quick bit of news from us: Bob and I went to Leicester today to see a lung specialist about his breathing which is still not very good. The specialist said that Xrays and breathing test show things are getting better and he doesn't think there is very much else that can be done. It is a very, very rare complication of the bypass operation and we have to make the most of what we've got.

Any news yet on Bobsmum?

Praying for all situations mentioned!

Bobsdad · 30/04/2008 02:24

We have a bundle

Martha arrived earlier this evening, a very healthy 8lb 13oz. Rather faster than we were expecting, but safely in the hospital. And with only gas'n'air and a TENS for pain relief.

One very proud hubby and daddy.

MaryBS · 30/04/2008 07:10

Congratulations to you both! And welcome little Martha
