Praying through April - Come snow, come shine

Looking back over the thread it is amazing how much has happened in just over a month:

First of all giving thanks for imminent and not so imminent 'beans'
Bobsmum - 36 weeks is it? Struggling with elephant feelings
Podglet on maternity leave now; CS booked for 15th April
Myjobismum - giving thanks for normal scan 14 weeks now and feeling more positive.
CaptainCaveman - give thanks for willyflashing bean. So sad about the lady seen in clinic with a 20 week pregnancy that is no longer viable, Lord have mercy.

Just flagging up some urgent prayer needs

FAQ (Queenofquotes) - marriage has broken up, struggling with life on her own with three dss. Situation not improved by the fact that her lovely vicar had a comprehensive breakdown and is in hospital. Praying for things to keep improving and giving thanks for friends around her.
Podmog Struggling with many issues - Lord bring peace and calm in all situations and relationships.
Praying also for Notsofarnow who is back at work but not finding life that easy.

CaptainDippy and ZipadiSuzy both struggling with rather parallel issues:- unfamiliar work and not a lot of money. Praying for perseverance and rest.
Swaliswan too is getting used to a new job which thankfully she enjoys more than she expected too. Struggling with dh being away a lot and mil threatening a visit straight after dh comes back.

MaryBS who has had such a lot of work to do and who is going for more clarity on a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. Praying also for her friend K who will have an operation for cancer on Wednesday.
Also praying for Amber32002 who bravely went to church a few weeks back and who is talking about disability issues with people in the Church at high level.

Praying for Roseylea for clarity of thought on a 'thing that has cropped up'.

Giving thanks with Worzella and Notquitegrownup for enjoyable far away holidays

Praying for Panda's mum with chest infection.

Praying for OJ and Steve, Steve should be home by now but apparently there is some problem with transport. Lord, how we need you in this very hard situation, joy tinged with sadness.

And for all not mentioned NorthernLurker, Mufti, PenpotEca (how are things now sweetheart?) and anybody else - lets get praying.

Thanks DO!

I can report that I will now be referred for a diagnosis. I am also being referred for a mole I have that has changed shape, so prayers for that too please...

amber32002 · 07/04/2008 18:53

Prayers for absolutely everybody on the list above. Sorry I'm not able to write to each person in more detail but just back from the national disability conference for the CofE at which I've had to do a short speech about the national autism project. A long day, lots of scary things for an aspie to get through, and I'm in need of a nice cup of tea and a quiet corner.

My thanks to everyone who's prayed for me and for the work we're trying to do.

notsofarnow · 07/04/2008 20:08

I'm not even going to look at what i've missed on the old thread because I dont think I will take it in anyway.

FAQ how are you sweetie only put two and two together last week while I was away as to fact that you are QofQ (sorry don't know how i missed that)

Things ok this end but feel like i'm hitting my head against a brick wall with the cbt thing. I think that being a Christian compounds the issue of negative thinking because it makes me feel quilty because I shouldn't be thinking that way and as a Christian i'm somhow failing, and should have it sorted.

Just want to take my head off and throw it against a wall sometimes but hey ho maybe one day i'll be healed but am at the point of thinking that only God can do this but maybe he doesn't want to and i'm going to be likethis for ever.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 07/04/2008 20:15

Hi - I wonder if you'd all say a few words for the dd of a friend of mine. Her little girl is almost 8, she's already fighting an ongoing battle against congenital heart disease and has now developed leukaemia.

Thank you.

Notquitegrownup · 07/04/2008 20:42

Of course Sagermaker - special prayers for this little one, and for her family.

Praying Mary and for you too NSFN. Not everyone finds CBT works by the way. I believe that psychodynamic therapy, which looks at patterns of behaviour in families, and how we often end up behaving like our parents and, more importantly, how we can break the cycles, is more effective for some people. However, it takes much longer than CBT, so tends not to be available on the NH.

Prayers for all my friends old and new and yet to be met, on this thread. Special thoughts for FAQ.

Oh, and thank you DO, for the new thread. Praying for you and for Podmog too, re the other thread. {{{{{hugs}}}}}}

CaptainCaveman · 07/04/2008 21:01

Thanks DO for the new thread! Praying for you all, and for all the things unspoken on our minds - may we commit them to our Lord for Him to do His will.

Thank you for your prayers.

I'm as I only every seem to pop in here when there's a crisis.

bobsmum · 08/04/2008 19:32

Dropping in

Thanks for the round up DO. sOrry I never got back to you on the email - answer is a yes!!!

Things are hectic, but in a good way I think. WE're finally decorating our grotty, filthy lounge - the (literally) flea ridden and holey carpet has gone to the tip and we're inheriting a newer carpet from some friends of friends as well as some sofas from friends who are moving house. So pleased that baby will come home to something clean and warm rather than the shed we've been living in for the last 3 years

Got big car last week too - praise GOd I can actually reach the pedals (this is v unusual for me and cars) and I actually feel safe driving it. It's big, but not as big as the RR. Has 7 seats, so we can take out visitors and MIL most importantly when she visits.

38 weeks this week! Bump has dropped big time and I can see my feet for the first time in months, so maybe baby is on the move? Had to take paracetamol for some practice contractions which had me a bit bent double in the kitchen today! But I haven't packed my bag yet so baby musn't arrive til I've done that

Ed Psych comes for home visit and assessment next Wednesday. She wants to see ds in his home environment before submitting a detailed report to the paediatrician for a diagnosis. Doesn't look like we'll see a SALT for a couple of months, but from what I hear - that's not actually that long a wait - phew!

Ds is loving being on holiday, but I'm finding it difficult to entertain the pair of them cos I just can't move about that much. We've had a lot of Veggietales on today - can't play much in the house because of the decorating, but we're progressing slowly.

Lots of love to you all! God bless

Swaliswan · 08/04/2008 21:02

Hey Ladies. Just popping in to pray for you all. Thanks for the round-up DO. I'm doing OK so far this week even with DH away. I've managed to not be late for work and DD is happy today.

I'm getting really excited about the babies that are going to be born soon. Don't forget to post some pics on your profiles when LO's turn up, please!

CaptainCaveman · 08/04/2008 21:22

ooh ow, prayers for (I think) trapped wind would be much appreciated!!

Praise God for all the good news on this thread, and Trust God for He is at work in our lives.

Not sure now wether ds has got into the church school or not but I shall trust in the Lord to take care of ds' education.

ZipadiSuzy · 08/04/2008 22:40

Ooh Ow! - Prayers for your trapped wind CC, and prayers for ds to get into your preference of school!

Bobsmum - You sound happier, prayers the birth goes ok, and that ds will get sorted soon!

SS - You sound perkier aswell, praise the Lord for perkiness!!!! well done on 'not being late for work' and coping whilst dh away. Glad dd is alot happier this week, you deserve a break in stress of late!!!

saggar - Don't worry feeling you come on here in only crisis, prayers for everybodys crisisus I feel just as bad moaning about insignificant crisis's - a crisis is a crisis! I'm beginning to waffle

Panda - well done on nearly completing assignment, clever you, give yourself a shiney!

Podmog - re: banging heads on walls, I think NSFN & Panda were feeling that way Prayers for our frustrations and desparate feelings to become more manageable and peace take over!

Podglet - Thank you, I did get more sleep thank you, about 6 hours, still room for improvement hey!

Hia Mary {{{{{{Waves}}}}}}

Right, Chocolate, half a cider then bed, just got back from work!!! again!!! getting fed up of these late nights!!!

Prayers for a friend who has just had an operation to realign her jaw {big ouch}

OOh and a quick little prayer my Asda shopping arrives tomorrow at last!!!! Food glorious food!!!!

NIGHT NIGHT, GOD BLESS!

ZipadiSuzy · 08/04/2008 22:43

More potatoe waffles, wafferley versatile! - thinking of food tomorrow!!!!
