Looking back over the thread it is amazing how much has happened in just over a month:

First of all giving thanks for imminent and not so imminent 'beans'
Bobsmum - 36 weeks is it? Struggling with elephant feelings
Podglet on maternity leave now; CS booked for 15th April
Myjobismum - giving thanks for normal scan 14 weeks now and feeling more positive.
CaptainCaveman - give thanks for willyflashing bean. So sad about the lady seen in clinic with a 20 week pregnancy that is no longer viable, Lord have mercy.

Just flagging up some urgent prayer needs

FAQ (Queenofquotes) - marriage has broken up, struggling with life on her own with three dss. Situation not improved by the fact that her lovely vicar had a comprehensive breakdown and is in hospital. Praying for things to keep improving and giving thanks for friends around her.
Podmog Struggling with many issues - Lord bring peace and calm in all situations and relationships.
Praying also for Notsofarnow who is back at work but not finding life that easy.

CaptainDippy and ZipadiSuzy both struggling with rather parallel issues:- unfamiliar work and not a lot of money. Praying for perseverance and rest.
Swaliswan too is getting used to a new job which thankfully she enjoys more than she expected too. Struggling with dh being away a lot and mil threatening a visit straight after dh comes back.

MaryBS who has had such a lot of work to do and who is going for more clarity on a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. Praying also for her friend K who will have an operation for cancer on Wednesday.
Also praying for Amber32002 who bravely went to church a few weeks back and who is talking about disability issues with people in the Church at high level.

Praying for Roseylea for clarity of thought on a 'thing that has cropped up'.

Giving thanks with Worzella and Notquitegrownup for enjoyable far away holidays

Praying for Panda's mum with chest infection.

Praying for OJ and Steve, Steve should be home by now but apparently there is some problem with transport. Lord, how we need you in this very hard situation, joy tinged with sadness.

And for all not mentioned NorthernLurker, Mufti, PenpotEca (how are things now sweetheart?) and anybody else - lets get praying.

OP posts:

News of K - she is "awake and doing well, prognosis is good". Please pray she can stave off infection... she is in some sort of "sweat box" type thing, like a sauna, to keep risk of infection down apparently...

I hope to hear about my coursework on Tues, if not before...

I agree about shouting not achieving anything, but sometimes I get so frustrated...

PandaG · 11/04/2008 16:36

Praying for K

Mary, I'm about to start helping to laed a parenting course (starts next Thursday) and all I have done fp rthe last few days is shout at my 2, or so it feels!

MaryBS · 11/04/2008 17:01

I think its because I'm trying to think of something else, all the things I have to do, and I ask the children to do something 3, 4 or even 5+ times and it still doesn't get done!

CaptainDippy · 11/04/2008 19:29

Sounds positive about K Mary

NQGU - Thank you! xxxxxxx

Notquitegrownup · 11/04/2008 21:03

You are welcome CD!

Mary - joining the shouting a lot this week list! My dcs have both returned from holiday with a severe dose of selective deafness, combined with general dottiness. Aaaggggghhh!

CaptainCaveman · 11/04/2008 21:41

Mary I agree - I didn't mean to sound like a virtuous parent there (I most definately am not!). I try not to shout but sometimes you just have to . esp agree with selective deafness. Ds had added impishness about him today - grrrrr.

I emailed CD - the man at school admissions made me cry today because he just wasn't listening to me and was being most unhelpful. I've written and sent a looooonnnng letter of complaint to the manager and just for good measure I've copied it to the service director! Don't mess with a pg hormonal woman.

Any more ideas for appeal would be greatly appreciated - I think they're going on the infant class size thing, but as the only church controlled school in our area I believe we are disadvantaged over non-Christians who live closer to the school (even though we are in catchment). 50 applicants for 30 places - we are 10th on waiting list.

ZipadiSuzy · 12/04/2008 00:19

mjim - prayers you get more than 6 hours sleep!

CC - Sorry you are having bother still with schools, we don't have any christian schools locally, although at least they say grace before lunch

Mary - Prayers for K's recovery.

I join the shouting gang (with my ds1) enough to distract pope benedict 16th I'm at the end of my tether with him, praise god though that hormonal teenagers grow up, eek ds only 12

Panda - Prayers for your parenting course to be successful! any free spaces

CD - Any improvement on the eyes? Get some rest {{{{{wags finger}}}}} prayers for your spaced out feeling to lift v.quickly!!!

SS - Prayers for your health, hope you are well soon!

Bobsmum - Prayers for a peaceful weekend for you, put your feet up! hope you enjoy this last bit of your pregnancy, without too much stress! oooooh excited though.

Whooops! look at the time, must go to bed, thought it was 10.pm - dts keep moving the clock to prevent each other from their next go on computer, little monkeys!!!

Prayers for ds2 - vomitting bug, YUK!
Prayers for dd - getting nervous about ballet showcase!
Prayers for ds1 hormonal outrages
Prayers for dh to get some rest this weekend!

Prayers for my clock to slow down

ZipadiSuzy · 12/04/2008 00:23

And please God just lift my spirit and lack of faith that seems very low, (serpent has a good hold of us atm)! We can beat this!!!!!

MaryBS · 12/04/2008 06:46

Fight the good fight, Sooz, its worth it!

Rest always helps, I went to bed at 8:30 last night

Notquitegrownup · 12/04/2008 08:21

Good morning all.

I hope that you are feeling brighter today, Sooz. I love your posts! I feel in constant chaos with my two, then I read about yours, and sympathise so much. Changing the clocks!! Bless em! I'm late for everything as it is. I think I'd lose it completely. You are a star staying sane at all! Enjoy the dottiness, if you can. In a few years it will all go awfully quiet and you'll miss these days - well, that's what my friends tell me!!

Hugs and prayers for a sunny peaceful weekend for you and all on this thread.

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2008 11:07

We can beat this Sooooz my lovely

DH gone out witho lder 2, P sleeping, I defnitely needed the space .... head still wonky .... argh ....

Love & Prayers to all. xxxxxxxx

ZipadiSuzy · 12/04/2008 13:06

CD - Wonky head??? lol, sorry my bad soh! hope you can level your head out soon! and that you are resting whilst dc are out with dh! me thinks not eh!

NQGU - Aw thank you, please don't sympathise too much, my phylosophy in life is 'you get what you put into life' so our dysfunctional family (not sane at all) is all self inflicted I do tend to wear my heart on my sleeve a bit but I'm glad you enjoy our dottiness! (if only you knew our surname, goes well with dottiness!

Mary - Thank you!

Thank you all for your support, I do get worried when low for more than a few days, and my thoughts go astray

ZipadiSuzy · 12/04/2008 14:46

Sorry to moan, I feel so selfish on here sometimes.

The day is getting worse, I just want to leave home.

DutchOma · 12/04/2008 14:57

What's up Suzy? Tell Oma?

OP posts:
amber32002 · 12/04/2008 15:28

Mary, praying for peace and relaxation and an absence of mice for you...

Bobsmum, praying for you to get through the battlefield of the next few days and weeks. Doesn't sound like molehills to me. And the questions they've asked about your son seem silly for a child his age, I agree.

SS, praying for you to recover, fast

myjobismum, praying for rest and healing sleep for you.

zipadisuzy, praying for you to feel rested and healed of your worries

CC, praying that you'll find the inspiration you need on that admissions form. Not sure there's any easy answers to that.

Podglet, praying that you get some rest and this cold goes fast

Worzella, praying for you to feel refreshed again

and prayers for everyone else too

Good news yesterday after a really rotten middle of the week in which I thought that I was going to have to face an angry Bishop alone. I've found out my spiritual director will go with me, and that the Bishop's realised there isn't a reason to be angry with me,though he's going to need to ask lots of questions. Long story...can't really explain more, but it's SUCH a relief to know I will have someone with me who knows lots about me. Prayers please that I'll manage a meeting with him anyway (not easy)

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2008 16:33

{{{{{Soooooz}}}}}} What is up sweetie?? xx

Praying meeting goes well, amber.

I am shattered today, DD's been grumpy and horrid all day and it is cold and I am grumpy too. Can't wait to go to bed .....

MaryBS · 12/04/2008 17:01

Aw I could cry! I made a pie for K's family to eat for dinner tonight, and was just checking to see if it was cool, and I dropped it! I offered to make another meal, but they said not to worry... but I wanted it to be a really nice surprise for them!

PandaG · 12/04/2008 17:12

Oh Mary how disappointing. at least they know you were thinking of them.

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2008 18:46

Oh Mary I would be gutted. Don't dwell on it though, we've all done similar things - you are not the 1st andy ou most certainly will not be the last!!

notsofarnow · 12/04/2008 20:39

I lost it in work today with a member of staff. Was very straight and to the point.

I don't feel particularly well - ribs hurt, shoulders hurt, glands hurt.

MaryBS · 12/04/2008 20:40

Oh well... c'est la vie...

I'm sitting here putting together intercessions for Evensnog tomorrow night. I picked up a BBC prayer book (!) dating from 1961 from a charity shop, and it has lots of prayers suitable for 1662 evensong... I tell you, I couldn't write them myself... I pray they're appreciated and someone finds them uplifting... I know prayer is prayer , and there is a certain poetry to them, but its not how I pray...

eg (and this is one of the better ones...)

"O Lord our God, who healest the afflicted and alone hast power over life and death: give we beseech thee, wisdom, sympathy and patience to all who minister to the sick and suffering, that being moved by thy divine compassion, they may bring hope and comfort to those who are in distress"

O Lord guide my choice and let me lift my heart in praise of you...
