Your words really resonated with me @speakout.
I would be interested to know how you approach shadow work? I need to work on exactly the same issues.

It's very blustery and wet here, interspersed with beautiful sunshine which highlights the golds, yellows and reds that have appeared in the last week or so. I have some trees outside my office window where the darkest reds are at the top, as if Autumn has "fallen" on them like snow or rain.

I shall be decorating my little altar today with pumpkins, fir cones, conkers and dried leaves. I hope you all have a lovely day

Good morning (just)

The weather has broken and we have brilliant blue skies and the sun is out.

I have been working hard to try to bring to a conclusion some projects before the end of the year but it has not been a practical aim, and in the long run one i have had to let go.

I stumbled upon some interesting podcasts upon my travels through youtube recently, and it brought up some local history that i was not aware of but has been documented and does explain some of my feelings towards this locality. So i fear there may be yet another worm hole of research to fall into.

I wish this day to be what you need, treat you as kindly as possible and that the ancestors bless you with their knowledge.

I am tempted to make time to head out for a walk.

Brightest Samhain Blessings Sisters

The sunshine after the torrential rain is sparkling on the jewel-coloured leaves on the trees showing us bright new beginnings.

I hope everyone is enjoying Samhain evening.
I was planning a quiet evening with tea and Tarot, but the doorbell has not stopped since 5pm- tons of kids guising, dinosaurs, ghosts, witches, little bats, mummies, all telling a joke or singing in exchange for sweets.
I doubted there would be many Halloween visitors, but when I was out shopping yesterday my instinct told me to buy loads of sweets- my head was telling me they wouldn't get used, but my heart told me to buy a stack- I am glad I listened to my inner voice- I have had 40 children at the door so far, and plenty sweets to hand out!

Oh speakout what a lovely intuition that was. I’m smiling at the thought of you dishing out sweets in abundance to the little witches, bats and ghosts. They got a good deal knocking on the witch’s door!

I haven’t got round to tarot and tea as planned either but am enjoying a cosy candlelit evening and have made a spiced apple cake, stirring in ancestral connection magic. I love the little stars you can see when you cut the apples in half

It’s been such a pleasure to hear about everyone’s plans and share energy with my sisters here today. Thank you all for all you share, I so appreciate our connection

I've started my planning for more seasonal warming food for my little family. Lots of casseroles and soups on the winter menu for us!

It's been the busiest night ever for trick or treaters in my tiny village. 3 families!
We just don't have many small ones living in the village but over the last couple of years some older social housing tenants moved into bungalows and so we have seen an influx of families.
It was really so lovely to hear excited little voices at the door before the knock. All so very polite and only taking one sweet each, but I encouraged them to take just a few more as I had plenty and really don't mind when manners are so good.

Of course I was dressed up in my witchy regalia and a spider web painted around one eye so I looked the part which delighted them!

I've really done so little witching though as life is too busy right now. Off to bed now as it's back to school for my youngest tomorrow so a good nights sleep all round is needed.

Samhain blessings dear sisters! I've been at a gathering with new friends this afternoon, which was terrifying and joyful in equal measure. Now home with candle, black cat and tarot (fluffy cat has given me cuddles already and gone off happily to her preferred snoozing spot). Not yet actually drawn a card because kitties have been gloriously cuddly and distracting! Am about to settle down to write show notes for tomorrow's podcast episode, while pondering the words you shared which really struck me, @VioletCharlotte - thank you!

Blessings to all. Have had the loveliest day here, exploring in the woods with my little one and a solitary run in the pissing rain which suddenly cleared and gave me a massive rainbow and a swooping sparrowhawk to delight in, then hilarious apple-bobbing in the kitchen, and lots of dressed up kids knocking for sweets. It’s lovely to be cosy in bed listening to the wind in the chimney.

I am working with the new year aspect and trying to build in new routines. I need a structure and a focus. So today seemed like it was a good day to start. I have also randomly woken at 5am.

There are many ways to approach shadow work- and I am no expert.
It may involve counselling or talking therapy, journalling, working with deity, Tarot, meditation and dialogue with past versions of ourselves, spellwork, dreamwork, nurturing your inner child and present self, above all else use self compassion.

@HillsBesideTheSea I do indeed, cohosted with a close friend after she moved to Canada :) it started as a fun experiment and turns out we both love doing it so we're currently in season 4! We talk honestly about creative practice, life, business and struggles.

I'm so tired today but the beginning of a new month usually refreshes me so tea and planning are in order, I think. Magical wishes loves.
