The bus driver who saw me running for the bus in the dark and rain at half 6 this morning and stopped and waited for me even though he’d passed the stop, who does not know how dramatically he improved my day.

Moments of shared humour and vulnerability with my students today in a lesson discussing beliefs and what it means to be human - teenagers are such a delight sometimes.

The feeling of falling into the sofa on a Friday afternoon, and the baby hauling himself into my lap for a cuddle.

The cat I took in on Thursday seems to be settling in just fine

Meeting a lovely dog (and it’s person, about whom I was less bothered) on the way to work.

Reading with my easily-delighted one year old. Seeing the wonder in his face and laughing together at pictures of weasels, which he seems to find hilarious (gorgeous illustrations by Jackie Morris in a book called ‘lost words’, which I highly recommend for grown ups as well)

My gorgeous husband. I don’t know what I did to deserve him but I’m very glad we met.

Family in general.

Yet another day of glorious autumn sunshine (and associated laundry opportunities!)

Cat cuddles here, too, Less. Not always convenient, but given her advanced age I must make the most of them.

Oh, cat cuddles here too, between my one year old human and the 18 year old cat that was the first creature I ever got up to do night feeds for (my sister and I took turns giving her cat formula in a syringe as she’d been taken from her mum too young and would wake crying in the night). Heart-bursting loveliness.
