Update on the babies is that baby G is still in PICU but doing OK. No more news on baby M - hoping for the second opinion on Monday now but no news is good news (hopefully).

NASWM · 05/03/2006 18:04

DS2 is going in to Great Ormond Street for his hand op on Tuesday this week so we'll both be away from home this week. DS1 is going to stay with his Grandma. I'm VERY anxious about it all, although I know I shouldn't be as he is in safe hands there and God will watch over him. But you know what it's like...

I'm also going to miss my PC and my contact with the outside world...

CaptainDippy · 05/03/2006 18:34

lol!

NASWM · 05/03/2006 22:55

DS2 has developed bad cough. They may not do op if it doesn't improve by Tuesday... Please pray for the right decision by the docs. I SO want it to happen now, but only if that is God's will. Thanks.

PandaG · 05/03/2006 23:19

Laugh if you like or think I am totally loopy but... At church this morning God told me to wear an ash cross on my forehead from now until the end of Lent. Reasons too long to go into here, but is to do with not worrying about the way others see me, my self worth etc. Have made my ash in readiness for tomorrow, but am not looking forward to the school playground. Please pray for protection, as I feel I am opening myself up for attack for doing this. Also please pray that conversations come up as result where I can share why I am doing this. Thanks. (PS I thought giving up alcohol last year was bad enough!!)

NASWM · 06/03/2006 06:44

DS2 has temperature of 38.6 and very bad cough. Please pray that he improves so we can go for the op tomorrow. God willing. Thank you.

CaptainDippy · 06/03/2006 09:20

Praying hard NASWM - God's will be done!! Keep us updated and I sooooo hope that DS' cough etc gets better so he can have the hand op on Tuesday. Praying praying praying....

Not loopy at all PandaG - What an amazing thing to do - WOW!! I really really pray that God's hand of protection will be upon you throughout this Lent time and that your cross will bear a great witness to Him and the amazing thing He did for us by giving His Son as a ransom for many!!!!! What an incredible step of Faith on your part - May many many people ask questions and come to Faith as a result of this act. Keep us fully updated as to what reaction it provokes - expect anger and humilation though because you are doing this for God and in His will - People mock what they do not understand, but do not grow weak in your resolve!! Well Done PandaG!! xxx

Praying continues ......

Verytiredmum · 07/03/2006 09:45

Praying hard for you and your family today NASW.

Praying for you too, PandaG. Incidentally, I became a Christian having found myself living in a student household with a group of people whom I thought were completely loopy. Their faith was barmy, so I criticised them, argued against them, laughed about them and then a year later found myself on a journey to becoming one of them! Praying that you will be able to answer any questions humbly and lovingly and that your lent-time witness will bear real fruit.

PandaG · 07/03/2006 17:07

Hi guys, just thought I'd update you on how it is going. A couple of mums I know but not really well laughed with me (rather than at me)in the playground - they obviously think I am nuts but they like me enough to be nice too. I have just been explaining to everyone who asks that God told me to do it, hoping and praying for opportunities to go deeper. Someone in gp's waiting room told me I had a smudge on my forehead - and was embarrassed when I explained why. LO's and RL Christian friends are being really supportive, DS (6) said if God's told you to do it you have to really! My Mum just thinks I have completely lost the plot! Anyway, thanks for your prayers Capt. and VTM, and the encouragement. Will keep you posted.

longwaytogo · 07/03/2006 21:15

Just catching up, really good to hear God is answering prayers. Have started work this week, full time induction, got keys on Fri to house, had suspended wooden floor ripped up today. But I am soooo tired have come home and been really grumpy with dc and dh. Had a moment today when I felt very sad that I wasn't still doing my previous job which is what God has called me to do but can't do it for the time being (don't ask) Also feel spiritual life is seriously lacking on the prayer and Bible front.

CaptainDippy · 08/03/2006 10:36

Hi there!! Thank you for your posts!! Smile Everything is not too bad in the Dippy Household - both DD's are asleep - hurrah!! Praise God for that!! Grin

How is everything going NASWM???? Was DS able to have the op? If so, how did it go???? Have been praying a lot for you and your family!!

Well Done PandaG - Sounds like God is doing some stuff through your witness, keep us updated - I feel extremely excited about what you are doing - Pinning you colours to the mast like this is incredible and I pray that God would bless you so much and other people that you meet too! Smile

Oh longwaytogo - I am not surprised that you are tired and grumpy - you have an awful lot on your plate atm - what with the house move and the floor being ripped up and the new job, not to mention children and DH to look after too - I think everyone here would agree that they would be tired and grumpy too!! I pray for a refreshing and renewing in your spirit - that God would fill you with His peace and His prescence and that you would feel Him very close right now - Pray for energy and a new love for Jesus!!! Especially at this special Lent time - In fact, I pray that for everyone here, I am sure we could all do with a great BIG zap from the Holy Spirit - I know I could!! Grin

Keep posting. Keep praying.

Sounds like you have a lot on Longway, will pray for you. Hope job and new floor going well.

NASWM · 08/03/2006 20:31

DS2 is doing incredibly well and they thought he'd convalesce just as well at home as in hospital so we came home this evening. The op all went to plan so now we are on the long road to recovery and getting the full use of his left hand. It will be some time before we know how much he can move his new fingers though. Thank you for all your prayers. NASWM

CaptainDippy · 09/03/2006 09:40

Morning!! How is everyone this morning? Thank you for the update NASWM - I am so glad that DS was allowed home to recover, that is very positive news - I am glad that the op seems to have gone well too - Keep us updated with his progress and I'll be praying for a quick recovery and for his new fingers to do their job effectively very soon!! Smile

Just a quick shout out for my poor DD2 - She has some sort of nasty gastric tummy bug thingy - He nappies are huge and gross and yellow and happening baout every hour, poor love. He little botty is red raw (we've got cream from the GP, which seems to be working, hurrah!) and she is absolutely exhausted, poor love. She is quite distressed and I hate seeing her like this cos she is normally such a happy bouncy little baby - Please please pray for fast recovery, espcially her poor little bot - Thank you!! Smile

Hi - Thank you for your prayers. Just a quick update on 'my' two babies.

Baby G is doing OK but has an infection so isn't yet out of the woods.

Sadly the news is bad from baby M and her family. The doctors feel that she is inoperable and that the family should let her go Sad. Her special mum is struggling to come to terms with this at the moment and I hope you will keep her in your prayers.

Captain Dippy - hope your dd2 is soon feeling much better.

NASWM - what a star you little boy is Smile. Well done him.

CaptainDippy · 09/03/2006 23:15

Feel so Sad about Baby M - Just don't know what to say, but will pray at this awful time. Good news about Baby G though Smile - Thank you for the update!!

DD2 is still not right. Not her normal self at all, which makes me a Sad Dippy. She's in pain from her sore botty and still pooing like a trouper, been a little bit sick too. DH is working from home tomorrow afternoon so I can take DD1 swimming and DD2 can try and sleep it off, poor love. Thank you for your prayers. Just hope she gets better soon.

Must go to bed - knackered!!

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 10/03/2006 09:12

Morning all - DD2's botty is less sore today, but she is still distressed and so so so tired - bit worried as we are going away for the weekend to attend a friend's Wedding - Hope she perks up soon, poor love.

Please pray for a friend of mine who has a baby last week - She had a really really horrific birth (allergic reactions to drugs, failed C-Section attempt, had to "yank" the baby out with forceps followed by nasty uterus infection and IV anti-biotics in hospital etc etc etc) The wee boy is doing well, although I think establishing breast-feeding has been and continues to be a struggle, but mum has started to have nightmares about the birth and is not coping well with the trauma of it all - Have started a thread to search for some advice / support for her, which has been excellent so far; but I think what she really needs is lots and lots of prayer - cover her and her family in prayer and pray that God would bring peace to her weary body and make this awful nightmare stuff go away!! Thank you - Will update.

Need to go - people coming round!!

CaptainDippy · 10/03/2006 19:07

I going away for a friend's Wedding this weekend, I'll "see" you all when I return - Keep posting and keep praying!! Smile

DD2 was massively sick this morning and has slept a lot today - has seemed better this afternoon. Hope she'll be ok this weekend, poor lamb - Thank you for praying - please continue to do so!! Smile

A flying visit as we are having a horrid week. Poor ds2 has a virus which has settled in the knee joints. Neurofen, and prayer, has taken the edge off the pain, so that he can lie and turn carefully without discomfort, and I can carry him up and down stairs OK. When it started, on Thursday, he even couldn't bear me to touch his knees or his feet and even turning over in bed was incredibly painful. He is being very brave most of the time, but not having much fun. Your prayers for us all would be much appreciated.

CaptainDippy · 12/03/2006 20:25

Back again!!! Had a nice weekend away at the friends Wedding, girls were, erm, stressful, as expected, but pretty good - We got through it in one piece and DD2 was ok, veeeeeeery slowly getting over this nasty bug, poor mite. Thank you for your prayers!

VTM: I am so sorry about your poor poor DS2 and this horrid virus - Will pray for healing to come to him fast and that the discomfort would ease really soon. Keep updating.

Where is everyone???? Any updates????
