Need a minor miracle here Sad

Friends dd has been back to theatre for a revision of the surgery - she isn't doing well. Mum sounds like she's losing hope.

NASWM ((hugs)).

Praying for strength

CaptainDippy · 17/03/2006 10:06

SMBK - On to it right now, praying for a miracle that this little one comes out of this ok. Praying for so much stength for that family - Thank you for your request for prayer. It is so important. xx

ok this move is flipping doomed, promised that carpets would be fitted first thing this morning, rang them at 11 said oh no they not coming till this eve - rang them 3 times today to make sure they were still coming, managed to get hold of them at five just to make double sure, they then turned round and said he's too tired he'll be with you in the morning but would ring this eve to say what time. Guess what no phone call yet. Loosing hope that we are ever going to move, half our stuff is in the new house half here its driving me insane. For instance all the food is in the new house the cooker is here. How insane is that. Took dd bed down today then had to bring it back as no carpets mean we couldnt sort bedrooms out.

Sorry rant over but i soooooooooo want to move in, the kids say they are going to say mega prayers tonight to make sure the carpet fitter turns up.

Bless them they are going away this w/e to Bradford with Youth Fellowship to do the services.

Pudmog · 18/03/2006 08:57

I have been following this quietly!

Please pray for me as I sort out the skeletons in my closet- a painful process, but have found some lovely people to help me.

Thank you

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2006 09:51

Oh longwaytogo - Grrrrrrrrrrrr!! I am stamping my feet and ranting in sympathy!! I am so sorry that this move is soooo stressful - I am praying that the carpet fitters would turn up asap - put down their bloomin' carpets and that you could move in!! I guess you just have to be thankful that this new house is yours and however frustrating it is, you will be moved in soon and have a lovely space of your own!! Hurrah!! (Some of us would do anything for that!! Smile)

Hello pudmog!! Good to meet you - Praying for you as you work through some obviously difficult stuff. Pray for a clearing in your path!! Smile

And .....

Don't forget the en-masse chocolate swap - Only have 3 names (plus me!) so far - need more and then we can get swapping!! Grin

mrsgee · 18/03/2006 10:16

longwaytogo am praying too for this to get sorted out asap,so frustrating.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/03/2006 10:33

Just to let you know - baby M passed away peacefully yesterday. She was in her mum's arms. Mum was even brave enough to allow a donation of heart valves. Thank you so much for your prayers.

My friend's dd is still critical - but she continues to fight and is at last taking some tiny steps towards recovery. There is still hope.

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2006 12:34

Thank you for you update SMBK - So Sad about baby M, but so Smilethat it was peaceful and that we all know that little one is in a much better place now. Smile Praying for the family as they come to terms with their precious loss.

So glad that your friend's DD is making tiny steps towards improvement. I continue to pray for that miracle. Keep us posted.

Please pray as we wait for Cyclone Larry to hit us. Category 4 so quite serious really. Dh looks likely to stay at the hospital until it's all over which means me at home with the boys on my own. We've followed all the guidelines but the watching and waiting for something so inevitable and so destructive is quite scary.

CaptainDippy · 19/03/2006 12:34

Hi Hannahsaunt - That must be very, very frightening for you and your family - Praying that God will keep you all safe and that you will find peace in the knowledge that He loves you and His hand of protection is upon you. Please please keep us updated. xx

How is everyone else doing? Any updates???

All continues to be fine in the Dippy Household. PIL get back from NZ today Sad It'll be nice to see them, but I've sooooooo enjoyed having my own space - Makes me crave a house of my own even more. Sad Keep praying that a job owuld come up for me reeeeeeeeally soon and that the rusty cogs can start turning towards a place of our own. DD2 is still not herself either, poor bean - pray for complete recovery soon. Thank you. xx

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 19/03/2006 18:29

I've been following Cyclone Larry and they say that it might turn into a category 5 cyclone (like Hurricane Katrina in the US) Whereabouts in Australia are you hannahsaunt?? How is everything going there? Praying for you and everyone preparing for Larry to hit. God keep you all safe. xx

OP posts:
Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 19/03/2006 18:49

Friend's dd has had her chest closed today (sounds yuk I know but they do keep it covered). Still a long, long way to go but it's a real step forward.

Hannahsaunt - hope you're ok. Sounds really scary.

CapatinDippy - praying that things turn out OK for you. About time your dd2 was feeling properly better.

hannahsaunt · 19/03/2006 20:58

Hello. We're in Townsville and the slight shift overnight means that we're out of the immeduate danger zone which only means that someone else is getting it instead which is pretty horrible. It's wet and windy - expecting the worst in about an hour and then we need to wait and seen what happens with flooding and tides over the next 24 hours. Please remember everyone in Innisfail, Mission Beach, Cairns etc. We still have power and water whereas others north are now without services.

Verytiredmum · 20/03/2006 09:26

A flying visit from me with a request for prayer please - quite a trivial one in the light of some recent requests (but yes, I know CD, they are not trivial to the one who holds us all in His hands).

Anyway, Ds1 was much better at the weekend after his mystery virus, so my mum and dad decided to come and see us for a cheer-him-up visit (we had to 'cancel' his birthday last week as he was too poorly to celebrate). M & D are in their 70's and not in good health, but celebrate their golden wedding in two weeks time.

Unfortunately both ds's coughed all day, and seemed to be starting colds! Please please pray for protection for M & D that we might not have given them anything which will make them ill for their celebrations. (We seem to have spoiled almost all of their big celebrations in the last 6 years, (all their birthdays and anniversaries are in wintertime) as they catch whatever we have.) I feel that we are really under attack from this - it's quite oppressive, knowing that I can't see my parents for most of the winter - it's time for prayer for victory over this one.

Praying for you all too. I'll try to do an updated prayerlist tomorrow.

God bless

Verytiredmum · 20/03/2006 09:57

Hello one and all!! Just a quick one from me cos I am heading into town in a mo so I can get a couple of things done while the DD's are asleep (PIL back from NZ does have it's benefits, but feeling squashed already!!)

I am soooo glad that you are out of the immediate "danger zone" hannahsaunt, but I pray that you are kept safe and I am pryaing so much for the families and people that are affected by the worst of this storm. Keep us posted. Hugs to you and your family - How is your DH doing in hospital???

Hi VTM - Great to hear from you!! Smile THANK YOU sooooo much for the update - wonderful of you, as always!! Grin Will be praying for protection over your parents and that they won't get this coldy thing and that they would be well enough to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary - Praise God for loooong and wonderful marriages!! Smile Keep us posted - Hope your boys get better soon too and that you or your DH / DP don't get it either!!!!

Dippy Household ok - DD2's cold has escalated and is veeeeery bad now (streaming nose, can hardly breathe etc etc) She wouldn't settle for ages last night, which is unusual for her, poor thing. Please pray she would recover fully soon, it feels like she has been ill forever now. I hate seeing her suffering. Thank you.

Best go - Keep updating and do not forget the chocolate swap!!

Hello, I am Lonelymum under another name. Some of you might know I have a phobia about illness and it is made particularly hard when dh goes away on business which he has done for the whole of the week. I am consequently a bag of nerves and will be until Friday morning. It would really help me if you could all remember me in your prayers this week and pray for an ill-free week in the DumbledoresGirl household. I shall try to pray for you too, by checking this thread each day.

Thank you very much.

CaptainDippy · 20/03/2006 17:27

Consider it done DG - Keep us updated and come on here if you would like any support / encouragement to get you through his tough week!! Smile

mcmudda · 20/03/2006 17:42

hi everyone - just an update on dh's job. His redundancy begins on the 31st of May.

We will be able to live "normally" off his redundancy for about 10 months before the money runs out.

Dh is at a real crossroads and is unsure of what he is meant to do now.

Please pray that the next step will be made very clear.

A complete break away from convention is a possibility too - dh would love to write a book, but obviously we need to pay the bills, so we may yet start doing B&B. If we do B&B we could advertise in the Christian Holidays brochure - we're ideally situated to provide a retreat/creation-appreciation-type break!!!

But the Lord hasn't confirmed anything yet - these are only our ideas so far, not his!

PandaG · 20/03/2006 18:24

Just a quick Hi - thanks VTM for update, will continue to pray. Had a family party this weekend, had a few odd looks from people that don't know me, buit extended family were very supportive of my cross, cousins and aunt are Christians. I had been dreading the party but is was fine, actually wearing an ash cross has been much easier than expected. DD was up half of last night, there is a nasty D&V bug going around here and am waiting for it to surface....Prayer for sleep tonight would be good!

mrsgee · 20/03/2006 18:42

update from me,dh better and has realised how busy my day is and has said he couldnt do it!hooray!(benefits of him not working)
still no job very unsure as to what he wants to do,money very tight and trying to fight the company for the money they owe him, however they have dissappeared into thin air!!!
pray for a breakthrough soon please,so grateful this is here thanks everyone.
def. need the choc swapGrin

CaptainDippy · 21/03/2006 09:04

Hello! Thank you for updates!! Although the redundancy is daunting MC - I think all the possiblities are very, very exciting!! Grin Running a Christian B&B would be amazing and a wonderful way to bless others - I am defintely praying for that a breakthrough for you and that God shows you the paths that you should walk - I understand that "unsure" feeling very, very well - going through a lot of that at the moment myself.

So glad that you are keeping going with the Ash Cross PandaG - Glad that the family party went better than you thought it would - Good for you, what a witness!!! Grin Praying that the sickness in your house goes away mega soon - A spiritual attack perhaps!!??? Grrrrr!

Hi mrsgee - Praying for the situation with your DH and work etc etc etc - Soooo pleased that he has admitted that being a mummy is bloody hard work (can I say that on a Christian thread!!? Wink) That is defintely one good thing!! Smile Just praying that you would see light at the end of the tunnel soon - and that we would all join in the choccy swap and eat lots of yummy chocolate (unless we're not "doing" chocolate atm and then we can arrange something else to be sent, I am sure!)!! Wink Grin

All ok in the Dippy Household - Poor DD2 still suffering and no news on jobs etc, but we are trusting and praying! xx

Any news Hannahsaunt?????

DumbledoresGirl · 21/03/2006 10:54

Just checking in today to let you know that on night has passed peacefully, but another three to go and I am a worse bag of nerves than I was yesterday. Sad

I know it is practically impossible for a non-phobic person to understand my phobia, but nonetheless, I am hoping that this thread is the right place for the support I need this week.

I can't really offer any help to anyone here at the moment as I feel so weak myself, but I couldn't help but notice mcmudda's post and her dh's redundancy. My dh has been in that position a couple of times in the last 2.5 years mcmudda and all I can say is, I know how worrying it is, but hopefully all will come well in the end. It sounds as though you have some good ideas and quite a lot of time to sort something out, so hopefully you will be able to make the right decision in good time. Smile

mcmudda · 21/03/2006 10:59

THanks DG Smile

Portree · 21/03/2006 15:12

Just thought I'd say hello. Smile Haven't posted much but have been reading and praying. Apologies for no personals - too scared of missing someone off Sad.

CD - you are doing a grand job in keeping this thread up and running.

Everything's ticking along in the Portree household and we seem to have finally shaken off the ever-mutating virus that we'd had for weeks. Still do think about our lost baby a lot and that I'd be 6 months pg now and in the home straight. Sad

Love and prayers to you all. xx
