Happy Sunday morning!!

Just a quick couple of prayer requests from DippyLand!!

DD2 is really quite poorly - high temp, sleeping a lot - Pray she would get better really soon, poor mite!! Sad

Especially as my mother and granny are coming to visit for a week - To say I don't get on with them is an understatement - I am completely dreading it like you wouldn't belive!! Sad Sad Sad DD2 being ill will just compound the utter hopeless awkwardness of this visit - Please pray it would be better than expected and that it would be over soon (they are staying for a week - eek!)!! Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!

Sigh.

Anyone else???

Prayers to all!! Smile

MaryBS · 07/05/2006 21:25

PLEASE pray - my non-believer DH has expressed a willingness to go to church. We're going to go as a family next Sunday, when there is a family service, as it'll be a bit more lively. I haven't discussed this change of heart with him. I've been really grateful to our vicar for including him in things, and I think thats what has made a difference.
TBH I'm still in shock! Praise God!

ja9 · 07/05/2006 21:38

MaryBS - that's fantastic. God is moving....

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2006 07:45

Hello MaryBS and ja9!! Welcome!! Wonderful news about your DH - God is defintely moving and working through that situation - I'll be praying hard for God to meet your DH in an amazing way (or any way for that matter!) next Sunday. You must be walking on air a bit atm!! Keep us updated - Praying hard!!

Everything is ticking along in the Dippy Household - I'm on my own with the children this morning as DH has had to go and be on an interview panel this morning and left at 6am. DD2 still poorly - nose is streaming, very hot and tired, but ok. My mother and grandmother came over for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and it went ok - so thank you sooooo much for praying cos it worked!! Grin Please pray as we battle on through the rest of this week with them. Sigh. They are suppose to be coming to the park with the DD's and I later and it is raaaaaining!! Sad Please pray for a weather improvement in the South East - Gutted here!! Still no job for me, still no payrise for DH, but we are moving very slowly forwards, I think (I hope). Thank you all for your support and prayers - Praying for you all!!

Updates????

PandaG · 08/05/2006 10:48

Hello all

Mary - fab news - will pray for you all.

CD - praying that you get through the next week, and for DD

I am feeling a bit crap today. MY DD starts school in Jan, and I have been a SAHM since DS was born in 1999. Feel I need a purpose in life. Have been childminding part time since '01, and will be losing a lot of work in Sept as children start school etc., and have just had 2 cancellations this week for different reasons. Want to know what to do next. Was a job came up with the home hosp school network which I would have loved, but I have been out of teaching for 10 yrs, and it wanted recent experience, which as a teacher I do not have. I don't want to be a classroom teacher any way, so do I do a refresher course anyway...?

Sorry this is long, just wanted a bit of a rant really. Thanks if you got to the end of this.Smile

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2006 12:20

Hi PandaG!!

Thank you for your prayers - Muxh appreciated!!

Weather hasn't got any better Sad Oh well - there's still time!!

I totally know how that whole "what is my purpose?", "what do I do next?", "where is my life going?" thing feels like PandaG - I do feel a bit like that myself atm, although I am not quite in the same boat as you as my children are no where near off to school, but I do need "something" for myself and a home of my own and just a change of some description - Feeling pretty stagnant here in DippyLand!! So I am sending you sympathetic vibes and lots of prayers - Hope that God tells you where He would like you to be and what he envisages for your future soon!! (Me too!) Keep posting!! Smile

hello all
this is the first time ive been able to post for ages. itf been quite busy in the gee household. dd at preschool and ds in bed-hooray Smile
we have had dd birthday party over weekend so been quite manic, made her great castle cake which i am very pleased withGrin
regarding dd and blood test could do with lots of prayers please. we had to go back for another one and it was nearly as traumatic as the first, even though we uced the cream to numb the area. we have since been called for yet another one which i cannot bear to go through or put her through, so have said we will wait to see what the results are before she goes again. her bllod does not flow quick enough so it is taking ages for them to get enough to test it and in the mean time she is screaming telling me to make thme stop and take the needle outSad
on a better note ds has appoinment in june for discussion about circumcision.
dh job is going really well.
well will pry for all and will catch up on the thread later going to enjoy a cuppa and some thorntons chocs and being kind of child free Wink

Twiga · 08/05/2006 21:43

Hi! Sorry to just nip in with a request and run (feels like I've been doing that a lot lately) but could you please pray for us and dh's family. His Grandpa who is 90, had a stroke at the weekend and it is unlikely he will recover - can't swallow, off legs etc. Please pray that things are peaceful - Grandpa is a committed Christian with over 60 years in the ministry - he's an amazing guy! He's so tired and when we saw him last a few weeks ago talked about his wife and friends who had passed on a lot, he really just needs to go home to his Heavenly Father! It'll be very hard on us all and dh's exam is a week Monday - not ideal if he has to miss it but of course there's no question if things go as we think they will. Just pray for timing, comfort, peace etc.
Thanks lol x

PandaG · 08/05/2006 22:06

Will pray Twiga.Smile

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2006 23:22

Hi mrsgee!! Hope you had a super lovely holiday!! Good to have you back!! Smile Your poor poor little DD - I am absolutely terrified of blood tests, so I can't imagine what she must feel like, poor little mite!! Sad Just praying that they find out what is wrong asap without the need for more tests - So hard for you too, to have to watch her go through that, poor thing. Good news about the appointment to talk about DS' circumsion. Just praying for blessings on the Gee Household.

Praying for you all as well Twiga - Praying that DH's granpa would go to be with his Heavenly Father calmly and peacefully really soon and that everything would be ok for you as a family, especially as DH has his exams etc - Tough times for you, but isn't it good to know where DH's Grandpa is going!!!!!? Smile

Must go - Sooooo late and I've been out and had too much wine. Whoops!! Blush Grin

Notquitesotiredmum · 09/05/2006 09:58

No time to post at the moment, but just to say that I am lurking and praying.

PandaG - I too have been out of teaching for 10 years and don't want to go back to classroom teaching. However, I thought about contacting my local school and asking whether they would like a voluntary (but qualified and experienced) helper. That way you get 'recent experience' - albeit in an unpaid way - and get to see current practice operating - and they get some extra help.

PandaG · 09/05/2006 11:01

Thanks for that NQSTM - I do want to do more helping in school once DD is there - can't really do it atm as childminding lots of bits, and have DD with me every afternoon. Hmmm maybe I need to treat Jan - July next year as a regrouping and regaining skills time, helping out at school too, and then assault the job market next Sept. I know God has got it all under control, but sometimes feel so overwhelmed, wanting to know now what God has in store for me.

Twiga · 09/05/2006 20:46

Quick up-date on friends niece - is doing well, has moved from big incubator to small open one and has gained some weight - her mum still knocked for 6 but doing well too! She is 2 weeks old today. Please pray that things would continue positively.

CaptainDippy · 10/05/2006 10:17

Hi! Glad that we can give each other advice and help each other out - as well as supporting one another in prayer - I think that taking some "time out" to get some experience etc sounds like a very good idea - I am trapped in that vicious circle in a way too - I want to get a job, but I came straight out of Uni and had babies so have no experience, but I'll never get any experience if I don't get a job - Grrrrrr! MOST frustrating!! Sigh.

Good news about your friend's neice Twiga - Thank you for the update and praise the Lord that she is making good progress - Praying for poor mummy as she recovers too - Guess it is going to take a wee while to get over the shock etc.

All ok in the Dippy Household - Still very hectic!! Mother and Grandmother still here. Spent yesterday afternoon with them, which was ok-ish. Have a day of freedom today and then going out with them tomorrow and Friday afternoons - Thank you for your prayers - Has been easier than previous visits, so God is good!! Smile

Had another driving lesson yesterday, which went ok - Driving instructor had another chat with me about my concentration and road observation skills, sigh. Have a mock test next Wed between 11am and 12pm - So will need lots and lots prayers to get me through that!! I'll remind you all nearer the time!!

DD's are still snotty and not 100% but ok. DD2 is going off with a friend for the afternoon while I take DD1 out today - so that will be nice (easier for transport etc), but feel guilty palming poor D2 off all the time Sad - Would much rather have her with me, enjoying the fun too!! Need to learn to drive!!!!

ARGH!!

Wink

Prayers to all. xxxx

OP posts:
PandaG · 10/05/2006 12:37

Glad to hear about friend's niece Twiga, and that time with family isn't as painful as previiously CD. I don't much like driving, and choose not to whenever possible, but am so glad I finally passed my test for the freedom it gives me. Praying that the mock test goes well.Smile

I'm feeling much less down today, think the glorious weather has something to do with it, and great prayer support! Is my first PTA meeting tonight as chair, so am a bit nervous about it, but one of my best friends will be there so will have a bit of moral support!

Should we start a new thread, this is getting a bit long!

CaptainDippy · 11/05/2006 10:52

Hi PandaG!! How did your 1st PTA as Chair go?? Was thinking of you and praying for you!! Smile

All ok here in the Dippy Household - DD1 very chesty, think I might get her checked over with GP re: last year's pnuemonia, poor bean. DD2 pretty grim and snotty too, so I'll prob take her along for the ride too!! Smile Seeing Mother and Grandmother this afternoon and then they are staying for tea with the In-Laws as well -should be interesting!!?

Good idea about the new thread PandaG - This one is pretty lengthy - I'll summerise recent prayer requests and start a new one very soon!! Smile Watch this space .......

Havn't been on Mumsnet for a while-problems with dd2 and a lot of stress all round. Also felt that the atmosphere on some of the threads was not compatible with trying to live the Christian life. Anyway have come back in a limited way and so happy to see this thread still going Smile. Thanks to all who prayed for Philip Dunne - he is doing well having had a pump fitted to help his heart function. Hopefully will be able to come home soon. The power of prayer is marvellous isn't it? Will keep you all in my prayers.

CaptainDippy · 12/05/2006 08:13

Hi KateF!! Goooood to hear from you!! Smile Praying for all the mad stuff that is going on in your life atm - Praying for peace and calm in your household and blessings on each member of you little family. I, for one, have continued to pray for Philip Dunne - Wonderful news that he is making progress - God certainly is amazing!!!!! Grin

I will get that new thread sorted this evening - All well in the Dippy Household!! Smile
