The tortoise bites the toes of people he doesn’t like (assuming their feet don’t smell of lettuces). I feel it is definitely a preference thing, as it’s the same guests he bites and others he ignores.
He’s also truly excellent at hiding when I’m away, leaving DH to dismantle the garden in a panic. When I’m home, he is perfectly well behaved and puts himself into his hutch. I’m sure he likes the drama.

Boy dog swallowed a large pebble when he was 8 months old, causing an intestinal blockage that needed surgery. Why he chose to swallow a large pebble is the real mystery here. It's not exactly tasty or inviting.

He's swallowed numerous socks over the years and they obviously are very tasty and inviting as far as he is concerned.

My girl dog nipped the back of the leg of a tradesman who got between me and her in our driveway, and for some bizarre reason decided to break into a sudden run back to his van. She obviously thought he was coming for me, so she took matters into her own hands. Luckily he had very thick trousers on so she didn't break the skin.

Girl dog also had the most explosive diarrhoea ever in my friend's caravan when we left her with their dog while we went to the pub for dinner one night. That was FUN.

One of my cats was a terrible food stealer. He once grabbed a lovely fillet steak off my plate before I'd even cut into it, and ran off into the kitchen with it, where of course the dog joined him enthusiastically in demolishing it.

Another time, I was drinking a glass of Baileys at Christmas. I put it down on the carpet. I looked down a little later and the cat and the dog were ever so politely taking turns to drink it, the cat sticking his paw in and licking it, then the dog taking a lick with his tongue. Afterwards, they both fell asleep together!

Both long gone now and both still missed every day.

Rolled on a dead seal on a beach when we were on a camping trip in the hottest weather ever. Absolutely disgusting.

My wonderful cat used the litter box then looked me on the eyes as she scooted across my favourite rug.

Notcookingongas · Today 09:09

Our old Westie chewed my wedding shoes three days before our wedding. He was only a pup and managed to reach them, open the box and go to town. He never stopped his whole life - I’d often find a heel sticking out of a hole in the lawn.

Fluffy cat became constipated. Bottom dragged across the carpet leaving a poo-ey trail everywhere

maximc · Today 09:17

My hamster chewed five holes in the carpet. He also went behind the cooker & stripped the outer rubber layer off part of the cooker power cable. It was quite impressive for a creature I can hold in the palm of my hand.

One of my rag doll cats is a total utter twat. He's 5. Had him since he was a kitten.

He chews and ruins things like a puppy. All the time. Not a month goes by with out him finding and buggering something up. He goes potty up at windows if he sees a pigeon and knocks things off and smashes them. Like a puppy.

He's ruined and broken so many beloved house plants by nibbling them and dragging them off shelves. He has crazy spells where he charges round the house growling and grunting like a wart hog. (my other Raggies just roll their eyes and watch him). He'll literally bounce off the walls and go up the windows.

He loves to eat crispy plastic and brown paper (like amazon uses) and it makes him throw up. Every time. Always on a nice rug, never the hard floor. He pulls parcels out of the letter box and tears them up. He will watch you put something crunchy down and sneak to it later.

However - i adore him! and he adores me. He follows me everywhere around the house (including the loo) and is a constant presence in my life. He sits and yowells and wails waits on the window ledge when i leave the house untill i get back and then i'm greeted so warmly. He's a silly sod.

😊

Brought a live bird into the house through the cat flap. Spent the day chasing the bird around the house while it shat everywhere. Finally caught it and ate most of it. Threw up while running from room to room. Which was bad enough, but the house was on the market and the estate agent was doing a viewing at 5pm. He walked the potential buyers into a house that was covered in bird shit, feathers, blood, dismembered bird bits and cat vomit.

Laiste · Today 09:22

and here he is - how could you not forgive him! (sorry photo is from his last stay in a cattery, i'm not trying to advertise! 😳🤣)

Girl cat flipped a couple carp out of next doors pond, boy cat ate it.
Both long gone but not forgotten.

allmycats · Today 09:23

Above should say Coi Carp

She kills things. She's particularly adept at driving pheasants into fencing corners and chasing down young rabbits. She's had a few hares too (when the buggers think sitting very still and quiet is going to put her off the scent). Every year I think she's too old to be a danger to wildlife, and every year she hies off and comes back with a corpse.

But she's a Patterdale, so I should expect it. Apparently the only way to slow them down is to tie their legs together.

My cat had some type of stomach upset. I only found out when I went upstairs and saw that he had shat liquid diarrhoea on my bed( brand new expensive duvet cover) and my granddaughter's bed. I had to bin the duvet covers, duvets and sheets. Luckily it hadn't gone through to the mattress. It cost me several hundreds to replace it all.

Needless to say I keep all bedroom doors shut now apart from the spare room where he's allowed on the bed.

CatsFromSpace · Today 10:03

Pissed on my brand new rug

Pumpkinsaregrowingnicely · Today 10:06

Dh decided to lay some flooring...

cat threw up in my slippers.

Oh and threw up a furball in my bed. I didn't know she’d thrown up until i turned over right into it, cold lumpy and wet. disgusting.

Not sure if this is the worst thing my two lovely cats have done, or will do, but recently they have figured out how to open their toy box and get their toys out. Which they have chosen to start doing at 4am and stomping up and down the stairs with them

Whatawickedgametochoose · Today 10:11

Late lamented boy dog ate the new dining room table. 3 out of 4 legs. Not the one we’d had for years oh no the one we saved for.

My late big grey cat was my shadow. He was fat, smelly and hated anyone and anything that wasn’t me, Dd1 or food. Unless they hated cats then he made it his mission to sit on them, rub around them and be their best friend. When I ended up in a wheelchair after a car accident for a year he escorted me everywhere and sat outside the loo in case I fell and growled at anyone else apart from DH who came remotely close. He then followed the chair back and stood guard until I was situated. He disgraced us terribly however when DH took sick after my accident and a kind friend brought soup and she brought her dog (lovely cockerpoo). “Don’t worry he is fine with cats” I will never forget grey cat (who was not fine with visiting dogs with me sofa bed bound) on top of the cabinet silently launching from a great height and me powerless to stop him. Thankfully Dd1 deftly plucked him mid air and wrestled him into the hall Blush

My hamster also chewed up the carpet.
And escaped and lived under the floorboards for a few days. We managed a recapture , but it was a lot of stress .
We had other hamsters but this one was like a superpowered hamster 🐹.

Randomchat · Today 10:18

My cat killed the neighbour's hamster. That was terrible. The kids were playing with their hamster in their back garden and our cat caught and killed it.

ImWearingPantaloons · Today 10:22

@Laistegood cattery 🙂

CallMeFran · Today 10:23

My old dog somehow got loose and ate a families picnic (Labrador). I was mortified - luckily the family found it hilarious.
