Any name suggestions for black labrador here please!

We're collecting our new (and first!) dog on Tuesday. He is a 12 week old black lab and very sweet. I would like to give him a dog name as opposed to a child's name and I quite like the idea of naming after either a character from a book or a band. I also like foods and other animals species!

Inigo (yes, I know it's a proper name but it's more unusual iykwim).

Oh yes, Guinness nice - I know a Swedish black cat called that.

Also used to know a gorgeous black horse called Murphy.

Maverick is good (along with Goose and Iceman).
Don't drink Guiness or Murphy's so no good.
What about something Scottish? Dh likes Ewan (we're currently watching the excellent Long Way Round but it's too real a name - I suggested Beamer instead )

yes - do like Mac very much.

Angus. I think that's Scottish.(I had a black cat called Angus.)

I didn't know you could change their kennel names, ours were swithin (born on st swithins day), blackberry and Highland Wesco. Def could have done with changed the last one.

Beamer's good but depends on where you live - could sound like you're naming the car driving by

I think he should be called Boden but dh is horrified

when I first met dh he had a very old black bmw (ah, the nostalgia...)

I also like Murphy... isn't that a dark guiness like drink...

i like Roger - reminds me of Roger Red Hat.
