I signed as worried about food costs with the changes to farming land.

username8348 · 24/11/2024 01:07

Got to love the right whingers.

Nelliemellie · 24/11/2024 01:09

Signed as I believe they lied and misrepresented themselves.

BourbonsAreOverated · 24/11/2024 01:09

Yes this is exactly how democracy works

NOTANUM · 24/11/2024 01:10

This isn’t how UK democracy works.. instead why not engage with the political system we have - go see your MP and petition for change, join a union, set up a political party etc.?

The number of people signing at 1am UK is also suspicious.

Do we not just go with what the papers say?!
its how the last government worked, so I think that’s what people expected from this one

sleepwouldbenice · 24/11/2024 01:15

Bobbins
They have a huge majority
Get over it

NOTANUM · 24/11/2024 01:15

@BourbonsAreOverated I am not sure what that point about the papers means, sorry. The papers are a mixed bag as we all know and I tend to read a variety to get my news.

What does this mean? It sounds like AI bollocks.

It's exactly how democracy works people are seriously pissed off at the government and the fact that they didn't do this with boris and they are doing it with this government shows just how BADLY they are doing

Alphaalga · 24/11/2024 01:18

Way more idiots than that in the UK.

200,000 doesn't even cover daily fail readers.

13,266,996 voted Brexit in England, let's see how many twats vote this time.

NOTANUM · 24/11/2024 01:22

Over 100k signatures and a parliamentary debate is considered. Even if this led to a vote (unlikely), the size of the Labour majority means it’s a waste of time as it’ll be rejected. Even the other parties won’t want an election - they’re broke from the last one.

So you can say that online petitions work but I doubt this will make any difference.

@ForsythiaPlease

Unfortunately I don't think there's a workable opposition.

Not really most media is right wing. Hardlly any is left or non bias in uk. There just isn't. So fail readers make the loudest noise.

Dunning Kruger effect almost in action.

Awww, bless you and your AI in politics. Go you!

urbanbuddha · 24/11/2024 01:25

They HAD a huge majority.

They've still got a huge majority - the number of seats in Parliament is how the majority’s defined.

Violetparis · 24/11/2024 02:20

Millions signed petitions about Brexit, nothing came of them and nothing will come of this one.

MayaPinion · 24/11/2024 02:28

Hahaha!! Stop trying to overturn the will of the people. Our government was democratically elected in a legally binding election.

6 million signed a petition to overturn Brexit and jack shit happened, so don’t expect a petition of roughly the population of Wolverhampton to make a damn jot of difference.

I find this government absolutely frightening.
It's as though they know they only have limited time, so are rushing to push things through. 2000 more Police to leave the Met due to budget cuts.

I won't be signing though, it was a democratic vote so the result stands.

If a GE was called, which it won't be, who would you want to govern? Not Conservative I take it, so Reform?

The thought of Putin's fanboy plus Lee Anderson running the country and abandoning Ukraine, would keep me awake at night.

hattie43 · 24/11/2024 06:04

This government are proving to be totally inept. Liars .
I'm also worried they are so out of step with other countries current thinking .
This is going to be a very long 4 yrs but luckily 4 years is not long enough to do serious damage given how long it takes to get laws passed and infrastructure in place .
