We had a small shop and one of our customers was Mrs Malaprop incarnate.

She told us she and her husband were upset when they went to a particular beach because there was a nudist column there.

She told us her mother in law was always berrupt (abrupt) and as we knew, a leper never changes its spots.

There are other but I can’t remember them at the moment

I had an elderly friend who told me her brother was branching out on his farm to do clamping. It became obvious she was talking about tents rather than cars.

Then she said that while she was away, her neighbour had a restraining order put on the beech tree.

Indeed. Silly me 🤣

Anglican Water (Sky News app) have imposed a hosepipe ban. Are they run by the church?

Tallisker · 11/07/2026 11:29

Holy water?

LeftBoobGoneRogue · 11/07/2026 11:31

Apparently it’s not a devine right.

Whosthetabbynow · 11/07/2026 11:32

🙏

Whosthetabbynow · 13/07/2026 14:17

I’ve just read a review of an item of clothing “it looks quite sheak”. Also someone has been “coning the system” for years.

LeftBoobGoneRogue · 13/07/2026 15:40

Was it a fashionable stile?

SchnizelVonKrumm · 13/07/2026 17:00

Bet it was really on vogue.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 13/07/2026 17:58

Seen on a thread yesterday: ‘it was absolutely so destroying.’

Was it a fashionable stile?

No, just your average rickety wooden one!

Er..what’s wrong with that?

Indeed.

AlbieJiggered · 13/07/2026 19:12

‘it was absolutely soul destroying.’

Absolutely so destroying also can make sense, though!

Absolutely so destroying also can make sense, though!

Not really.

SchnizelVonKrumm · 14/07/2026 11:00

AlbieJiggered · 13/07/2026 19:12

‘it was absolutely soul destroying.’

Soul-destroying (hyphen needed).

Allseeingallknowing · 15/07/2026 19:51

Seen on MN this evening “ a quick peake”

Agoddessonamountaintop · 15/07/2026 20:01

I’ll raise you “see counselling.”

LeftBoobGoneRogue · 15/07/2026 21:23

A possy of boys.

AlbieJiggered · 15/07/2026 21:29

Not viscous but...
'Not keen on the popularity or meaning of Amelia albeit has a lovely sound'

It’s just taken me a couple of minutes seeking the meaning of that!!

Allseeingallknowing · 13/07/2026 20:18

Absolutely so destroying also can make sense, though!

‘Absolutely so destroying’ is not a turn of phrase I’ve ever heard before! It’s obvious the poster meant ‘soul-destroying’!

maudelovesharold · 17/07/2026 09:02
