Ding, ding, round 3 of the highly entertaining collection of misspellings, misuse and general bastardisation of language. The floor is youre’s x

I can’t emphasise with her.

SchnizelVonKrumm · 11/05/2026 12:59

Just seen on another thread a poster claiming to have been told to cut their cloth according to their coat...

AlbieJiggered · 11/05/2026 13:15

From AI subtitles- Owndall and Eaten.

The well-known pubic schools?

AlbieJiggered · 11/05/2026 16:49

Yes!

BrickBiscuit · 12/05/2026 08:12

"At private school your not paying for the education your paying for the network"

"At private school your not paying for the education your paying for the network"

Which fee-paying school failed to educate that individual?

Whosthetabbynow · 12/05/2026 16:40

I had the old classic “postrate” said to me yesterday. Loads of ailments that were mispronounced. Surely if you’re suffering from them you’d know how to say their names correctly, but no. I just stood there nodding x

HelenaWilson · 12/05/2026 17:26

Seen today (and not for the first time on MN)
"I’m happy that [redacted] aren’t clambering to....."

Allseeingallknowing · 12/05/2026 19:11

Mumsnet - Daydo rails!

LeftBoobGoneRogue · 12/05/2026 23:03

On MN today….
Nothing good will come from medalling in this.

Gold, silver or bronze?

CinnamonSweet73 · 13/05/2026 10:52

On Instagram but I see it repeatedly and it drives me insane - people putting who's where they mean whose!!
For example 'we were contacted by someone who's father worked on the original project'
Typing it here now autocorrect suggested 'who's' to me so that probably has a lot to do with it!

AlbieJiggered · 13/05/2026 10:55

It is an easy mistake to make. The way round it is to always use who is instead of who's.

BrickBiscuit · 13/05/2026 21:55

'Tactile' for 'tactful'.

AlbieJiggered · 13/05/2026 21:55

How touching.

BrickBiscuit · 14/05/2026 06:39

"You must of fallen out of a coconut tree", a comment from another site. Sums it up really.

Whosthetabbynow · 14/05/2026 13:34

That’s made me role my eyes

Is that the 'electoral role' I saw the other day?

I think so, yes x

Delightful malapropism on a thread about enhanced maternity pay - the OP has to be “employed for another 7 weeks … in order to not pay the enchanted maternity pay back.”

Dinggirl · 22/05/2026 07:48

Recently I keep seeing "his" being used instead of "he's" 😬 I don't know if that's autocorrect! It doesn't make sense 😄

Seems fairy nuff to me

SerendipityCat · 22/05/2026 11:46

I'm seeing a fresh rash of "where" today -

"They where out on their bikes"
"The twins where under 5 until they where about 8"
"They where pulled up on it"
"We where so thirsty"

It's almost as annoying as "loose/lose"!

Whenever I see "where" instead of "were" I hear the sentence in my head in a strong Scouse accent!

Eligiley- seen on MN today! Presumably meant allegedly.
