OK, I know it's a really easy mistake to make. It's just that every time I read this - more and more frequently - my mind conjures something like this. Enjoy!

@Cattery ,many use except when they mean accept. My post was a joke.

butterpuffed · 16/07/2025 18:23

Shorely knot 🤔

Cattery · 16/07/2025 18:29

@Pedant5corner Oh yeh I know! I was just adding another similar word x

Cattery · 16/07/2025 18:30

Thought of one I heard a while ago: the hunt for the abdominal snowman

Pedant5corner · 16/07/2025 19:23

Why did they remove the laugh emoji?Smile

Because some utter cunts were using it to mock vulnerable posters.
anyway, they haven’t removed the laugh emoji, they’ve just stopped it being (mis)used covertly. We can still laugh all we want via quote or add post, for all to see.

they usually do have a distinctly rounded tummy tbf

Pedant5corner · 16/07/2025 23:05

@ErrolTheDragon ,it was a rhetorical question.

On a thread today - chocolate sponge roles. My brain is doing cartwheels with the possibilities for that one🤣

I'm picturing adults with large foam wraparounds and their faces painted brown solemnly interacting on a stage.

🤣🤣

My mind was veering more towards jobs. I even imagined them protesting with placards - MORE ROLES FOR CHOCOLATE SPONGES. So many options😅

Pedant5corner · 31/07/2025 20:25

scolding hot bath

You're a very naughty bath!

Cattery · 01/08/2025 21:55

Couple of corkers today: “I think I’ll pump for the middle offer”

Part of the packet is seathrough

I saw that seathrough one😃

I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but someone yesterday didn’t want to ‘exasperate the situation’!

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 02/08/2025 10:21

In my role (roll?) as sticker up for the past tense, can I offer today's prime 'digged'. Someone has something 'digged up'. I mean - the word 'dug' isn't exactly rare, is it?

Please tell me we can still use the past tense and we're not now obligated to just shove 'ed' onto the end of a word?

GarlicStyle · 02/08/2025 10:33

Someone has something 'digged up' 😲😲 One can only hope English is not their mother tongue!

Or perhaps their thoughts runned away with them?

Saw a great one the other day - someone on FB was selling a "cheese lounge" ... 😂

No other indications that poster has English as a second or subsequent language, and the rest of the post is fine! I know I sometimes have the odd grammatical lapse, but 'losing' the word 'dug' isn't easy to do.

Cattery · 02/08/2025 10:38

This reminds me of the “I was sat” “we were sat” No. You were sitting!!!! Unless someone specifically placed you there. I can’t effing bear it!!!!

Chersfrozenface · 02/08/2025 10:40

It is indeed. Sadly the original cheese lounge has disappeared into the Facebook ether - if only there was an unusual combination of words I could use to search for it again. Oh, wait.... 😁
