Hyena no pressure but you're top of the list now although once your off I'm next [gulp]
Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on the washing girls, haven't decided but might just wash it so I can see how cute it looks on the line

Hyena · 13/10/2009 10:13

Ah, top of the list...that means nothing though. You could be first .

WolverineInMarigolds · 13/10/2009 12:48

Huge congratulations to Mr and Mrs Turk and the Turk Twins! Hope that K and A are doing well and that you can take them both home before too long. Will be looking out on FB for some pics. Can't believe tht they are here. I swear it was only about a week ago that you said you were pg with them.....

Hello to everyone else. Severe lack of posting in my behalf. No excuse apart from horrible sleep deprivation, still trying to finish the build and 3 kids yammering for my time.

Hope everyone is well and LO's of varying sizes are behaving themselves.

Evening ladies. Hope you're all well and have had a better day than I have. DH was taken into hospital with a suspected TIA (mini-stroke) early this morning. He was at work so he's in a hospital in London (50 miles away). He was at work and suddenly had a strange sensation in his head, his vision went blurry and he had pins and needles in one arm. He then couldn't move that arm for a few minutes. Fortunately his colleagues didn't hesitate in calling an ambulance and one of them went with him and stayed at the hospital until lunchtime. How frightening for him though The doctors aren't sure what the problem is but they're keeping him in at the moment for observation. He's also having an MRI scan tomorrow morning.
I haven't been able to go and see him because visiting hours are 3pm to 8pm only and he was waiting for his MRI scan all afternoon, only to be told late afternoon that it would be tomorrow. They had some emergency apparently.
He seems in good spirits though from the texts I've received. My sister went to see him earlier as she works not far from the hospital and she said he looked fine so that was reassuring. Anyway, he's nil by mouth from midnight tonight apparently in preparation for his scan tomorrow morning. I hope it really is in the morning as he'll be very hungry otherwise! He had a CT scan earlier today, which was fine. His blood pressure is fine, all reflexes are normal. He did say earlier that one side of his face was slightly droopy, which is why the doctors were concerned this morning, but that's back to normal. However, I'm now reassured, although it will be good once we know the results of the MRI scan. If all is ok then he may be able to come home tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
Fortunately E has kept me busy and stopped me worrying too much. I've discovered she can climb stairs I popped upstairs for literally 30 seconds to fetch something and found her two steps up from the bottom. We've got a stairgate at the top of the stairs but it looks like we now need one at the bottom too!
Hope everyone else is OK.

Fruitbatlings · 13/10/2009 21:39

oh, Impala I hope everything is ok with him. It must be so frustrating not to be there with him

EachPeachPearMum · 13/10/2009 21:50

Wow! is this some mind of secret quiche? I've never come across this before... how odd

Thought it would be a deep meaningful discussion on the morality and ethics of keeping animals in zoos!

Hyena · 14/10/2009 09:17

Impala How awful for all of you. Really hope he continues to improve so quickly and is home in time for the weekend. Lots of love xxxxx

PenguinPoo · 14/10/2009 11:34

Impala I so hope the MRI scan comes back all clear and that DH continues to get better. It sounds as if E is going to do a good job of keeping you busy, but it must be awful not being able to see him

PenguinPoo · 14/10/2009 11:40

On a brighter note, DH went for a job interview Monday and got the job, it's only a temporary job until the end of January but at least it's some money coming in (although nearly half of his original wage ) but still better than nothing

Meeeow · 14/10/2009 12:09

OMG Impala so sorry to hear your scary news! I hope it's nothing serious and he's home safe very soon! Keep us posted xx

I was going to ask for some advice/support re helping 'I' to settle to sleep on her own but it seems very insignificant in light of Impala's news i'm off now to count my blessings

Impala · 14/10/2009 14:08

Thanks for your lovely messages ladies. No news yet as the MRI is scheduled for 2.45pm. Which means that yet again I'm not going to be able to see him as I doubt he'll be done before 4.30-5pm, which is when I'd need to start heading home to get back in time for E to go to bed. My mum has to go out at 7pm tonight so she can't look after her this evening and I'm not sure about leaving her with somebody she doesn't know very well, especially at night. However, if the MRI results are OK (and assuming there is someone around at that time to interpret them!) then he should be discharged. So fingers crossed he could be home later on this evening or at the latest tomorrow morning.
Meeow Please ask away, it's nice to have some normality Although I have no useful advice given that E is still rocked to sleep in her buggy for daytime naps and fed to sleep at night (hence I'm the only one that can do night-times atm).
Penguin Pleased that your DH got a job although about the cut in pay. But at least he can keep looking for something else whilst earning some money and there will be no gap on his CV.

Impala · 14/10/2009 18:59

Quick update as DH is on his way home and I'll know more once he gets back. MRI and MRA scans both fine hence he's been discharged Doctors still aren't sure if he had a TIA or not. He needs to go back as an outpatient for a few more tests but again I'll know more later. Main thing is it wasn't a full blown stroke.
Hope everyone else is OK.

Fruitbatlings · 14/10/2009 20:20

Aw that's fantastic news Impala So pleased he's coming home!

Just had an Ofsted inspector round to talk about me having two under ones. Pissed off thread about it here

havingagiraffe · 14/10/2009 21:18

Impala at your news, how awful for you all. I'm sure you're really glad to have him home.

for you Fruit What a pain after all your hard work. Bloody ridiculous if you ask me. Such a shame for J, I'm sure you'll get more people after he's one though.

Brilliant about the job Penguin Better to be doing something I guess and who knows where it might lead. How are you feeling? are you now part-time? I really would laugh if you beat Hyena to it.

Hyena EDD the 30th - it can't be, surely you mean the 30th November!! You might give birth on Halloween - have you considered the name Damien

N SAT today, on his own and stayed upright for more than 2 seconds. He was 6 mths old yesterday BLW going marvellously - loving his food and his highchair. I am knackered and wonder when I will ever NOT feel tired but still loving it. As I said though so tired that now off to bed.

Fruitbatlings · 14/10/2009 22:18

Turkleton pics on FB now!!!

Turkelton · 14/10/2009 22:45

Hi ladies, have pics up on face book now
Absolutly exhusted but happy to be home. Little Kara is home with me but little Abby is still in scbu really had no idea how hard it would be to come home without her still though I know she is being well looked after.

Ok, gory details.........
went into hospital Monday night with tightenings, they insisted on keeping me in cause presenting twin (kara) was breech but everything settled down so they let me home wednesday afternoon, wednesday night though waters broke so back in again, they monitered me for the night and said they would section the next day. Had the spinal and everything was going grand till both babies were out and spinal started to wear off so had to have a general then. Very glad its all over, Kara has been doing well from birth, Abby had some trouble breathing and had a stomach full of mucas and low blood sugar, she is grand now though except for feeding and will be kept in until she can feed competely by herself, (tube fed atm)

Will try and catch up on everyones news tomorrow, going now to catch up on some serious zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

xxxxxx

Hyena · 15/10/2009 19:27

Turkelton The girls are so lovely. I hope you're resting well and not feeling too sore. It won't be long until Abby is with you. xx
Giraffe I bet I either end up with a Halloween baby or a Bonfire night one....or worst still I'll give birth on L's birthday....she'll love that (not!). N is a very clever boy.
Fruit at Ofstead. They are so bloody stupid!!!!!!
Impala Excellent news about your DH. Hope he's recovering well now he's home.

Updating the list in time for tomorrow....am seeing midwife at lunch time but nothing to report. Bump still high and doesn't feel anywhere near as big as I was with L. Will post pics soon.

Panda what a lovely way you put that...little panda cub aaaw

Hyena looking forward to pics!

Turkleton fingers crossed for little Abby! and i know i said it on fb, but take good care of yourself

Giraffe yay for N!!!

Impala great news!

fruit....baby show yay!!!!

I have given in and trying a Gina Ford routine, i was tearing my hair out with lack of normality in my life and now, finally feeling back in control so

havingagiraffe · 18/10/2009 15:07

It's so quiet in here lately. I guess we are all very leading very busy and glamorous lives (Giraffe spies some half chewed chicken and roasted carrot under the table )

How are you all? Hippo Mamafox Nemo and other lurkers in particular. I can't believe that Hyena is so close now. Why do others pregnancy go so quickly.

Impala How is DH? Are you coping OK? I assume he is off work, how long for? I guess you must also be in the throws of preparations for E's birthday/naming ceremony.

Penguin that DH doesn't like new job. that other stuff on the horizon and soon he won't care about his job anyway as will be so engrossed in Minipenguin Turkleton Your little girls are soo adorable. When will Abby be home or maybe she is already.

Meeow Ahh Gina - works for some Mums and not for others and works for some babies and not for others. Actually would work for me as love routine but Noah is a stubborn little bugger-- particular little angel.

Fruit Have you calmed down yet? You could have another LO of your own to keep J company.

Panda Am so glad you haven't given up hope of a little Mau Mau or Chi Chi! Bang on the doctors door again. Make yourself such a nuisance that they give you help just to get rid of you!

hello to anyone I haven't mentioned individually but have to go. Need to catch up on last nights X-factor. We had nieces to stay last night so it was Strictly all the way (which suits me). Very hectic with 3 children in the house but loads of fun - made me think of Mamafox and her 2 girlies and baby boy.

Hyena · 18/10/2009 17:04

Nothing to report here. Have been cleaning (as usual) and took DD to more birthday parties this weekend. She's off on half term for two weeks starting tomorrow - bloody independent school hols . Am quietly dreading it .
Giraffe My pregnancy has gone quickly for me too but I have a feeling the next weeks will drag - particulary the overdue days/weeks.
Meeeow How is Gina Ford?
Penguin I don't know how to load pics from my phone on to here. I'll have to do one on digi cam and upload it.
Ei Yey for clomid talks . Hope you're doing ok chick xx

Hello to everyone else.

Hyena · 18/10/2009 17:05

Ohhhhhh - Halloween smilies.

Turkelton · 18/10/2009 18:54

Hi Ladies

Impala hope your DH is feeling much better, you must have got such a fright, Glad to hear he is home.

Panda Hope the clomid does the trick for you, glad your DH is being so supportive

Hyena not long at all left for you

Penguin sorry to hear your Dh hates his job. Cant believe you are 29 weeks already its flying by

All good here in the turk house, Kara is fantastic, she is a little guzzler at feeding time Abby is still in scbu, she is doing well though, they will be weighing her tonight, she has to regain her birth weight in order to come home so hopefully she is nearly there, just about to head in there now for some cuddle time
big waves to everyone

Fruitbatlings · 18/10/2009 21:53

That's great news Turk! I cannot believe you have found the time to post, thata girl! Put's a lot of you to shame (me included!)

I'm turning into a boiling pot right now. Need calming down.

DH or rather "H" was supposed to come back from somewhere near liverpool today (he was working up there) and take C out for the day while I was at the babyshow.

There has been no sign of him all day. Phone's off. I've found out from a friend that he was dropped off in Richmond (not far) at lunchtime.
I'm fucking livid because I can guarantee he is some bar somewhere.
C was really upset today because his daddy was supposed to pick him up and take him out
I'm trying to keep calm and I'm past caring what he does in his time now - I've waited for him so often in the past 8.5 years. It's just so unfair to do it to your child as well
