Ooooh Lollipop! Hadn't spotted your lurker - you are definitely right, definitely! Hello. Tree also hangs out here - they should know first.

4andnotout · 21/01/2009 20:40

RUSMUM Could her vest babygro be too tight causing more wicking? Agree with lolipop though that sandy's are more usually a day nappy rather than an night nappy. I use bumhuggers at night on both dd3 & dd4, im still looking for some smalls if anyone has any. I think i have 6 or so large which is plenty considering i wash nappies every day
Hi Lurker

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 21/01/2009 20:49

treedelivery · 21/01/2009 21:24

Hey all. STILL here. BUT being induced tomorrow.

WOO HOOOOO!!! The consultant, the active birthing guru and me all agreed this kid is in the shitest position a bubbs can manage [in very non technical term!!] and so I'll be needing induction or a whole list of intervention at some point, so they asked me if I wanted to go in and I sort of shuffled about and murmured 'OK then'

Bricking it now mind you!! Still, it had to come out!

4andnotout · 21/01/2009 21:27

4andnotout what do you usefor wetpailing? just water and teetree or some powder stuff?

swampster · 21/01/2009 21:46

rusmum - Baby Beehinds bamboos!

swampster · 21/01/2009 21:47

And my BHs smell lovely!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/01/2009 21:54

rusmum: Could it be the washing powder that you're using? I've always used cheap non-bio (that can get for a pound or less from Savers) but recently tried Ariel Bio (the green box of powder) and was very impressed! I thought my little boy's room smelling overnight was because he had very strong smelling urine...but just as soon as I've switched over to Ariel...there are no smells and the nappies come out of wash smelling lovely! And best of all, the soap rinses out perfectly - no bubbles left at all (and that's using the time saver option, with just an extra rinse added on to end). We've got soft water up here, so I'm just using 2 tablespoons of powder per wash of nappies (and clothes too) and very happy with results!

Isaidno · 21/01/2009 21:56

swampster - I've got the baby beehinds wool wrap, which I use over either a BBH bamboo or hemp nappy at night. I think it's great and have had no leaks, although occasionally some very slight dampness where dd has been lying on her back all night and the evaporation hasn't had chance to work. It is a snug fitting wrap, and seems too small at first but covers the nappy nicely.

4andnotout · 21/01/2009 22:00

DRSI use napisan but shh! dont tell anyone

Yes i know it's bad for the enviroment (but i dont know why?) but im not doing this for the enviroment, my babies have cloth bots for purely practical reasons and it looks cute

swampster · 21/01/2009 22:06

Isaidno, how do the hemp nappies compare to the bamboo ones? I'm tempted BUT I heard they can get a bit crunchy and the bamboo are my favourite nappies at the mo. AND I have six plus a couple of Bum Huggers which should really do me as I only use them at night...

lollipopmother · 21/01/2009 22:30

I am trialling my new (well 2nd hand but new to me) WeeNotions Night Notions tonight, and I'm biting the bullet and using that bloody Tots wrap I bought in the hope that it doesn't make DDs legs all dry and crusty (I'm almost certain it's the Airflows that are doing it, since it has completely gone now that I'm using Itti's and Pop-Ins). I hope to God the wrap is up to it, I'll feel awful if she's soaking wet in the night.

I also finally managed to purchase a 2nd hand DryBees night nappy, I'm really excited, I've been waiting for ages for one to come up, I have (probably too) high hopes for it! I hope it's as good if not better than the Night Notions because Night Notions aren't cheap!!

Rusmum - We don't know who the lurker is yet but don't say the name of who you think it might be as that obviously would give it away to anyone who might be looking, which would be a shame if it is who I think it is.

4andnotout · 21/01/2009 22:44

Lolipop if it is the new style tots wrap it should be ok, my dd3 is a supersoaker overnight, (think bumhugger and a trifold hemp booster supersoaker ) and they do as well as airflows, it doesnt help that she drinks 2 bottles of milk or water during the night

treedelivery · 21/01/2009 22:48

ALLRIGHT!!

ME have been in touch wanting to know what our perfect wrap would look like!!

This is it ladies, we're changing the world....

So votes in. Thought we should all chip in an idea or ten.

I'm for bright deep colours & pastel shades.
Also have a hankering for delicate floral retro prints, or big jolly fruit.

C'mon people, I'm girl and new born orientated. What say the mums of older bubbs and boys? What say you all?

4andnotout · 21/01/2009 22:49

Im thinking pink and black skull and crossbones, pirates a few emo style prints for funky toddler girls. I agree with pastels, florals, bright colours tree

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 21/01/2009 22:52

tree bright and pastel colours, quite like "retro" prints too, but I guess if they did say 5 bright and 5 pastel colours I'd be happy.
