treedelivery: my best advice (as if you're asking for any! lol) is to try hard to get some rest! With both my previous labours I felt I needed to stay awake and try to get things moving etc and ended up exhausted! So, at this point in time (10.5 weeks away from my due date) I keep telling myself that when things start to happen I'm just going to sleep & let labour come when it's good and ready. But knowing me, I doubt that will happen!

tree good luck Wishing you a safe and speedy delivery.Remeber to focus on the fluff inbetween contractions. Think very cute nappies on a tiny bum very very soon xxx

ps ladies i'm gatecrashing i know but - boy 7lb 9oz!

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 11:32

Still pregnant.

On positive note the postman arrived today and brought me soem bargain 2nds from twinkle twinkle. 2 dizzy diapers and a nature babies wrap [purchased purely for the pattern of orange flowery tropical business] Nappies £5 and wrap £3 so worth a try. Free postage too.

Am trying to be cheerful to counter the hell of establishing in labour.

Backache and niggles and goo....tmi....

Rachel took your sound advice and went to bed and slept. Feel really guilty as mum is using up annual leave as I keep looking in labour, then collapsing into bed and snoozing!

lollipopmother · 17/01/2009 12:27

Tree - There's nothing worse than labour on top of a long day, you must must must sleep when you can. I was up for over 40hrs on top of only 5hrs kip when I was in labour, you wouldn't stay awake that long normally so why oh why try it when your body is under so much stress. It took me three days just to recover from the lack of sleep!!

4andnotout · 17/01/2009 18:38

tree Any progress yet?

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 19:31

only if you count soaking a crunchy nappy in white vinegar to soften it......hope it works.

Ho hum. Off for monitioring as bubbs very quite.

Had a great sleep last night Lollipop so tonight would be an ideal night to deliver....can you hear me bubbs!!?? Get a shift on!! Was awake 24 hrs with dd and then got 4 hrs before up again for the day. So got off fairly lightly [22 hour labour excepted].

Wanna baby!! Wanna use my fluff and soft things!!

4andnotout · 17/01/2009 20:05

Glad you had a good nights sleep, i spent the whole 9 months of my last pregnancy dreading the labour as although dd3's only lasted 5 hours it really hurt and i had to have pethedine and g&a, then with dd4 i got to hospital and felt fine between contractions and was still chatting away 40 mins later when i started pushing! Within 2 pushes it was all over! She was only tiny though 7lb to dd3's 8lb 11oz.

rusmum · 17/01/2009 20:46

Well i was 45 minutes start to finish with Rose and she was 9lb 2oz. Only 5 contractions and not painful so dont worry- it will go how it will so no point getting worked up!!

good luck Tree!!!

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 21:31

45 mins!!! I'd barely have time to check my toe nail polish [I have this thing, it really worries me I'll have ugly feet and every one in the room will be like urgh look at her feet, if they are up in stirrups.....cos being pregnant makes you mental y'know]

Back from monitoring for reduced movements but all well, brill. Made a tiny wee little mole hill on the trace when had a tighning so I guess no bubbs tonight!

Feel a diffrent women to yesterday [that moaning miserable version]. yay sleep!
