(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

My prefolds are now handy floor cloths and dusters.

treedelivery · 02/12/2008 21:10

Thanks for the orange oil advice - I was starting to dread lavender and tea tree as hate the pair of them!

Had a good catch up on thread, been trying to save the house, get benefits etc etc.

Good news today!! My bessi mate and dc Godmother and father have just come into some inheritance they didn't expect - and are giving us £1000!!!! Repay whenever and now we can pay the mortgage for 2 months!! Can you imagine the feeling?

Celebrated by buying nappies obviously - £20 TKmax 5 size 2 fluffles plus a wrap. They have some cotton ones if anyone wants some I'll post them on no prob if you can't get them or have cleared your local store!

lollipopmother · 03/12/2008 08:24

AnnVan - The insert is supposed to come out for washing and drying, it's white and made of the same fabric as the nappy, it's a rectangle and relatively thick.

AnnVan · 03/12/2008 09:44

Lollipop I found it! Feel a bit silly as I was looking frantically for it among all my boosters, but eventually found it among my mf cloths. Thought it couldn't have just disappeared like that though.

rusmum · 03/12/2008 10:16

oops horray,,, 50p each????

4andnotout · 03/12/2008 12:12

Im here

thebluefoxategreensocks · 04/12/2008 10:19

Yes, it has gone quiet! But I'm still around too!

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 04/12/2008 10:37

Rachel Bra came yesterday and fits perfect, now i wont have to handwash my only remaining bra every night before bed!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 04/12/2008 11:18

brilliant! So glad it fits. I know what that's like - trying to get by with one - not fun! Glad it's your size. I thought it was a lovely bra, but must remember to only buy my proper size and not try to squeeze into anything even slightly smaller!

wastingmyeducation · 04/12/2008 11:37

It is quiet isn't it?
Well, the combination of new terry fold and weaning means that we don't get poop leaks now. Unfortunately the kite fold lacks fabric under the bum and it seeps through, so I think I need boosters. As the poop is thicker now, tmi soz, I also need to use liners too. This just as he's getting wrigglier too!

What do you use as boosters? Are bought boosters worth it? I use them stuffed in my Bumbles for night, but wasn't sure about boosting squares.

xx

rusmum · 04/12/2008 13:35

wasting prefolds for boosting???

Or i use microfibre cloths.

AnnVan · 04/12/2008 14:08

WME - my nappies came with boosters included, but I tend to add a microfibre cloth to his night nappy for a bit of extra boosting.
Lady on my PN thread just said she's so tired she forgot to put a wrap over her LO's nappy, so they are both soaked now!

treedelivery · 04/12/2008 14:59

I'm here - but am miserable grumpy old tart so don't want to spoil happy nappy karma we have going on!

Got a pink gingham [fuzzy bunz?] all in one in post I had forgotten I'd bought of used nappies website - cheered me up!

Am sooooo looking forward to having a baby to put these things on!! dd1 is 4 and in disposables at night [we only used them on her] and last night it leaked!! maybe 2nd time thats happened. It's a sign!!

Tough not sure of what

AnnVan · 04/12/2008 15:09

Tree -ou have my sympathies for the time you're having. My DP was also made redundant (when DS was 3 weeks old) but has thankfully managed to get a new job. Still means money is going to be tight this month, but still, at least he got something new. Fingers crossed for your DH that he gets something soon.
And don't worry, feel free to grump!

treedelivery · 04/12/2008 15:35

Thanks AnnVan!! Glad your dp got a job, did it take long?

Think my DH will do alot of 'not putting wrap on' etc. Might be underestimating him but doubt it!! Will take picture and post any frankly silly mishaps!

AnnVan · 04/12/2008 15:48

not too long - just over a month, so could have been worse. DP is actually not bad with the nappies - he now says he prefers them to dispos, but when I said I was going to use cloth (before DS was born) he said he'd keep some Pampers to use instead.

wastingmyeducation · 04/12/2008 16:05

DH was made redundant when DS was three months and they weren't given the full amount of consultancy they were supposed to. He got a job within a month, though if we hadn't had DS he would have held out a bit longer for a better job. Bird in the hand etc.
It was nice having him home for a few weeks, even though it was stressful.
DH does the Bumble before bed, and some terries at the weekend. He much prefers the Bumbles, but not enough to pay for some more for daytime use! He too threatened to just use Pampers, but is pleased we're not producing heaps of stinking rubbish

xx

ChristmasFlower · 04/12/2008 17:04

here too.. waiting for some wool wrap experts to advise on my questions of a couple of days ago...

had a lovely day meeting lollipop and her dd, and another mum & baby from our PN thread today, talked about babies and real nappies!

ChristmasFlower · 04/12/2008 21:58

soooo quiet here.... all nappied out?

thought I'd report back then on the new hip hip baby real easy. it's lovely, very good fit, used it at night with added mf cloth until I wash it a few more times being part hemp, and no leaks, not even from explosive poo, even if inserts are soaked. relatively slim too, and great for nights as very soft leg elastic (it feels/looks like a sized wonderoo)

anyone tried the disana pull on wool wrap? it looks nice and snuggly, is it worth it?

BBM - all ok?

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 05/12/2008 10:58

Oh flower what is this new nappy of which you speak? I have sold loads of our nappies and think i will try some wonderoos in the new year, selling off all the blueberry pockets and custom pockets has paid for quite a few xmas presents.
