GENERAL CHAT THREAD FOR CLOTH NAPPY USERS - PART 3

1000 replies

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 30/10/2008 19:29

(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

Littlelamb - You're so right about disposables spreading the poo all over the place, I used a 'sposie for half an hour yesterday and I was amazed at how much it looked like she'd done when I know what it'd look like on a cloth nappy.

TheLadyEvenstar · 28/11/2008 12:40

Hiya Ladies

Hi Everyone,

Lollipop - got your nappies today. loving them. Sandy's exsmall actually look the right size for a newborn. Thanks for gedtting them too me.

Rubbish news today - dh has been made redundant after 13 years at his work. Whole factory has closed and gone into liquidation. Lets hope the pay off reflects his actual entitlement.
Just when we were saying we were more comfortable! Had £100 month extra spends!! Mortgage had gone down and I had a few more hours work and a local job [I used to commute 60 miles] and maternity leave 'pants pay' looming in Jan!

It could be so so so much worse and we'll be fine. A lovely baby coming and all my lovely lovely nappies to put her in, and a fab DH and dd. Hey Ho. Those strawberry wraps are cheering me up cos my lovely plump and no doubt ginger dd2 will look lovely in them next year - and the buggers can't take that away!!

Tree sorry to hear your news . Hopefully it works out well for you. You have lovely new bubs on way and all these really cute nappies you've already bought to keep you smiling! Big hugs x

thebluefoxategreensocks · 28/11/2008 22:30

So sorry to hear about your husband's job treedelivery. Hope it works out OK in the end and he manages to get something better. Must be tough though not knowing what will happen.

treedelivery · 28/11/2008 22:31

Thank you VeeBee3 Isn't it bizarre that nappies have made me smile today! Thank Lord for lollipops delivery arriving this very day.

Pregnancy great, you can always just drift off to a warm happy hormone place. Most of time anyway - when not pile ridden beached whale in bad mood.

Having said that have started a grumpy AIBU thread, but am really happiest on our nappy thread. A place of happiness and positivity.

littlelamb · 28/11/2008 22:59

Rachelinscotland thanks so much for the offer- I will email you my address, and as my good deed I will try it out, if I like it I will buy some and pass on this one Thanks, it really is kind.
Another stupid question: I have just washed a load of nappies and ONE is still stained yellow, even though most of them had some poo on. WHy would one still be stained? Maybe it was a particuarly toxic one Is there anything I can do to get rid of the stain?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 28/11/2008 23:16

LL - wait for the sun... this past couple of weeks all my lovely ones are stained...

treedelivery · 28/11/2008 23:29

Maybe we should all move to Italy or Australia or Spain or somewhere sunny to better make use of our nappies and get rid of stains.

It's all for the environment!!!

littlelamb · 28/11/2008 23:39

Ah, see we don't have a line outside, so we do all drying on airers. Am I doomed to yellow nappies?

rusmum · 29/11/2008 09:17

BAMBOO LOVABLES anyone any experience???

rusmum · 29/11/2008 09:18

Ps sandys small £2.50 each??? any takers?

rusmum · 29/11/2008 10:33

anyone interested in a baby sling?? huggababy sling in navy. cost me £50- not used only tried, just not for me. £15?????

rusmum · 29/11/2008 11:09

this is the sling

AnnVan · 29/11/2008 12:10

Lollipop I got the lovable today and it is on his bum as I type It's quite cute on, even though I didn't think it looked like much when I looked it up on the net Is this a microfibre lovable?

rusmum would love to take you up on s sandy's but DP would kill me if I bought 2nd hand nappies I'm sure they'll sell quite easily though as they're so popular.

lollipopmother · 29/11/2008 13:56

AnnVan - Yes it's a microfibre one, I've not tried the bamboo ones myself, the reason I like them so much is due to the drying time so getting them in bamboo would defeat the object I think. I really like the fleece as well, I think you've got a blue one which doesn't show the Lovable at its best, I've got some with pink fleece that I got brand new and they are sooo lush! I like the fact that the microfibre stays soft as well. How are you getting on with the bumhugger?

Treedelivery - I'm glad that you like your new nappies, I was really sad to see some of my XS Sandy's go, I love those nappies. Really sorry to hear about your DH losing his job, lots of people seem to be in the same boat at the moment, horrible for everyone especially right before Xmas.

treedelivery · 29/11/2008 15:05

Rusmum - Do you know what size your sling is? Not that I ought to be spending......

Thanks Lollipopmother.

4andnotout · 29/11/2008 15:17

rusmum if i can sell my sling i would be interested in your sandies, dd4 has such skinny legs she only now fits in xs wven though she was 8lb 9 oz last week @ 4 weeks old.

lollipopmother · 29/11/2008 17:06

4andnotout - My DD is 12lb and she still fits in to her XS Sandy's, you'd be surprised how long they can last. I seriously heart your Princess nappy, I have a feeling I missed it, I'm really that I didn't say I wanted it earlier. I wanted the chocolate spotty Blueberry as well and for the first time ever I decided not to buy it as soon as I saw it in case it was just an impulse buy.

4andnotout · 29/11/2008 17:53

Lolipop Im waiting to hear back about the weenotions but will let you know, i still have the pink blueberry onesize left Im trying to sell a few to make a bit of cash (i want some new straighteners!)

rusmum · 29/11/2008 18:29

sling is medium size (standard!)

any opinion on fleece pockets??

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/11/2008 19:34

Hiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

lol yes I am in a silly mood..

so who wants to make me ANY offer on my nappies???

I need rid before i am locked in the cellar

AnnVan · 29/11/2008 20:40

Lollipop - I'm liking the absorbency of the bumhugger. It looks quite small though, so I'm not sure if it will be worth buying it in small, as I think he would be out of them before long. BBM has said she'll lend me a large one to try and see if it'll fit.
