I have taken advantage of the sunshine and washed all of my size 2 nappies and wraps in preparation for either storage or selling.

I have filled the rotary drier plus two of those hanging things with the pegs with assorted nappies, wraps, pockets, inserts, liners, boosters . And that isn't all of my stash. I have all my newborn ones plus some additional size 2s in the attic, plus a box set aside already for selling.

My name is lackadaisycal and I'm a nappy addict

although to be fair about a third of them are the tester ones from M&B

Anyway, I'll have some lovely pink, lilac and patterened pockets for sale soon. I'm going to put them on here first (but will give you lot first dibs ) and then usednappies if they don't sell here.

Now to decide what to keep and what to sell (other than the girly ones)....tis a difficult decision!

I'm doing fine KOMH......SPD has gone due to virgil now being head down for takeoff, but have really bad lower backache instead . Can't sit on the sofa for too long or it hurts. Counting down now.....6.5 weeks to go!

How are you doing? It's nearly October already so I can imagine it's all getting a bit too close for comfort for you!!

We have resorted to metanium again for DD and it seems to be helping, but give it a few days and I'm sure it'll stop working again. Poor mite has only had a few days here and there without a red and sore bottom sonce she was four months.

If I can find the charger for my camera, I'll get all the photos done and uploaded tonight.

Anyone got any advice on dealing with the hormonal downs? Feeling a bit rubbish right now. Don't like it one bit

Hi again. This thread moves quite fast, congrats to the 2 new babies
So keen to meet mine in 10 weeks or so. Funny how you lose track on our second pregnacy, huh?

Any thoughts on getting minki yoyo's for my 2 year old DD's night time nappy?

Oh have name changed, this is twinklingfairy from a couple of days ago

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 19:33

lol twinkling, I was about to suggest you come and say Hi on the November thread

I tried minki yoyos for DS as a night time pull up nappy, but didn't get on with them at all; although I suspect I got far too large a size. When he got up, the insert was bone dry but his bed and pyjamas were soaked. Can't figure out how it happened other than it was all too loose and he wee'd out of the side of it! They are lovely nappies though!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 19:37

AnnVan, sorry you're feeling a bit pooey, but it will pass lovely. TRy and get out tomorrow, even if it;s to the park for a bit of fresh air, or are there any baby groups locally so you can have a chat and a cuppa.

baby blues should only last a wee while; if you think it's going on too long, please talk to your HV about how you feel.

oh, and are you getting enough sleep? the temptation is to run around doing stuff when the baby sleeps (like washing nappies ), but you need to rest up when he does. Hope you feel more with it in a few days

disneystar · 22/09/2008 09:43

as for cloth nappies i use plain old terries fold them, the right way depending how much they wee change the shape as they grow
cheap affordable suit me and my 3mth old ds fine also no nappy rash
nothin better is there than seeing you lovely fresh nappies blowing in the wind on the line

wastingmyeducation · 22/09/2008 10:50

My bamboo terries arrived on Saturday! So far we are quite impressed! Very slim compared with the chunky Little Ewes and very absorbant. I also got some Prym nappy pins, but I won't be using them. They're for MIL to use if she babysits. Was thinking of wearing one as a brooch, declare myself a real nappy momma!
Congrats on all the new babies, and good luck to those with LOs on the way.

xx

lollipopmother · 22/09/2008 11:16

AnnVan - I suggest that if you feel like you want to cry, then cry! It takes up a lot of energy pretending that you're ok, it's best to let it all out however silly you feel. I got all flustered yesterday because I am really nervous about Elizabeth being too hot, and I felt like crying so I told my DP what I was feeling and then I just cried whilst my DP gave us both a big cuddle. I felt instantly better. I am in a constant state of terror with her, it's exhausting, but so exhilarating! Just remember that the feelings are because of your hormones, and it won't last. Make sure you're eating properly as well, tiredness and not eating properly will only make everything 10 times worse.

babyjjbaby · 22/09/2008 12:02

i love the flexi tot really pleased with it it is so slim i want some more but won't be getting them coi sthey r expensive

missygoo · 22/09/2008 12:05

daisy do you still have the yoyo? Would you be willing to sell/ let me have a wee try?

wastingmyeducation · 22/09/2008 12:43

You have all made me start craving shaped nappies!
Can't really justify it. Told DH that if he doesn't learn to fold the nappies, then I'm going to buy four shaped ones for night times. I'm putting him in charge of getting DS changed for night as part of a bedtime routine, but I have to come in to do the nappy at the minute. He was fine with the muslins, but since we've got different types of nappy and they have to be folded differently cos DS is bigger, he won't do it
If I did want some shaped nappies, to go under Airflow wraps, which are good for boys for night-time?

MatNanPlus · 22/09/2008 13:45

Hi Peeps,

Hope today is a better day AnnVann and do snuggle up and cry if you need to, the hormone ups and downs you are having are normal and the best thing after a walk with baby is a feed and sleep for both of you. xx

LackaDAISYcal · 22/09/2008 17:59

hi all...just a quick one.

I'll be back later, but in the meantime.....

Nappy Bargains

This is about half of my size 2 stash

AnnVan · 22/09/2008 19:43

Hi everyone. Just checking in, still feeling rough here. How long do baby blues usually last?

LackaDAISYcal · 22/09/2008 21:10

Hi AnnVan; sorry you're still feeling rough. No amount of reading up about new babies quite prepares you for how overwhelming it can all be; even second and subsequent times around!

Baby blues typically kick in with your milk and can last from a few days to a week. If you think it's going on too long and that it's interfering with your enjoyment of the baby, life, your DH, please talk to your HV. She can help

hope all is well with little S.

missygoo, I think the minki yoyo I have will be way too big for your DD. I tried it on my five year old DS and it was huge on him. He wore it one night and won't entertain the idea again! The XL says from 4-7 in the age range. It looks like it would fit me though!

babyjjbaby · 22/09/2008 21:36

daisy have u gto any size 1s for sale

LackaDAISYcal · 22/09/2008 21:40

sorry babyjj....am saving them all for DC3 in November

but the modern baby popins and the cottontails are a birth to potty option. You could use the bambinex as btp as well if you ignore the poppers and use pins or nippas.

babyjjbaby · 22/09/2008 21:46

would they be bulky tho don't like anything bulkier than a size 1 tots bts lol

LackaDAISYcal · 22/09/2008 21:53

the bambinex are very slim fitting and if nippad down well don't look any bulkier than a size 1 cotton nappy imo. They might seel a bit bulkier between the legs though.

I've taken some photos of then that I can upload...if I ever find the right lead to plug the camera inot the computer!

babyjjbaby · 22/09/2008 22:15

ahah i 'll give them a miss then he doesn't like the ones with bulk inbetween the legs dunno why

Essie3 · 22/09/2008 22:32

BabyjjBaby I have loads of Modern Baby Size 1 nappies for sale. They're the old-style ones.

Like this but size 1.

Trying to advertise them on mumsnet but do I have to pay?
