Hello, can I ask a night nappy question?

My DD is a heavy wetter at night and I have resorted to diposables because my Fuzzi's could not contain her, stuffed to the gunnels.
I tried a wambamboo with wrap but her wee thighs had awful looking relt welts by the morning I felt just horrid

I was thinking maybe trying a minki yoyo?

She is 2 tommorrow and is pretty much completely potty trained (only the odd accident) so I thought that these would be a worthwhile investment to see her through to trying to get night time dry (some time in the distant future)
I like the look of them because they are fully fleece, so she should not feel any wetness, right?

Help!

Hi everyone,

I've just stumbled upon this thread and thought you lovely ladies may be able to answer some questions for me.

My dd is 9 months old and has been in Motherease Onesize nappies and Motherease airflow wraps since she was about 3 weeks old. When I bought the nappies and wraps when i was pregnant, I also bought 5 of the snap in wraps. I really haven't used them since. My dd has been in a disposable at night but I want to start trying to have her in cloth all the time. Will the nappy and booster combination be enough to take her through the night or will I need to buy a different type of nappy?

Any suggestions?

Brill news from AnnVann and Daisy

Hope Mousey Returns soon.

NOt long now Knickers

TashaE · 18/09/2008 22:54

Apologies if the answer to this is somewhere in this thread already, but does anyone know if other makes of wrap work with motherease onesize? I use rikki wraps (airflow don't seem to fit my ds's), but my local suppliers no longer keep the smallest size ones (ds2 is 8 weeks) and I don't want to pay p+p if I order just one or two on the internet! I know I can get other makes locally (tots bots, bambino mio and some others I think) and just wondered if anyone has tried mix and matching?

Thanks!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/09/2008 23:15

tashE, you want to get along to Waitrose; they are selling off all their Motherease stock really cheaply.

not sure of the answer to that one. I've used ME wraps with other nappies, but not the other way around.

and you've just missed BBM , our resident expert.

someone will have the answer for you I'm sure.

TashaE · 18/09/2008 23:36

Daisy - thanks for your post - sadly my local waitrose only sells airflow (looked there today, although didn't realise about the sell-off). I will try the slightly-further-away waitrose tomorrow, but will otherwise keep checking MN.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/09/2008 00:05

what size is it you're looking for?

if you scroll down here to number 16....boocoo are selling popolino wraps at a dsicouinted price via their bargains blog. I'm pretty sure they are similar to the ME wraps, and the reduced price will counteract the prie of the postage, although having bought from them before their postage costs are pretty reasonable as they are at cost. There are some rikki wraps but it says they are reserved. Might be worth getting in touch with Emma though as things can be reserved, but if they don't get the money within a certain time they put them back on sale.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/09/2008 10:11

I'm off to Waitrose this morning ladies......any takers for ME wraps and nappies? I'm happy to pick some up for folks if they want (and if they have any left by today of course!)

be quick though, leaving in about 15 minutes

babyjjbaby · 19/09/2008 10:22

oh if they have got any medium airflow wraps would pay u postage

babyjjbaby · 19/09/2008 10:23

oops forgto to say only one if u can lol cos ain'y got much money they were down to £3 wern't thye

LackaDAISYcal · 19/09/2008 10:27

no worries babyjj; I'll see what I can do . If they are cheaper, do you want two? Apparently the price is varying from store to store.

babyjjbaby · 19/09/2008 10:30

yeh please

LackaDAISYcal · 19/09/2008 13:37

No reductions at all in our local Waitrose . Still asking for £6.00 per wrap and £7.00 per nappy. Which I think is a bit cheaper than elsewhere, but no big reductions. I spoke to cutomer services about it and they said they hadn't had amnything from head office about reducing the price or them being discontinued, but to check back as it might change. trouble is it's not even in our town so it's not like I'm passing every other day. Ah, well, at least I tried

Heartmum2Jamie · 19/09/2008 16:12

Congratulations to both Lollipop & AnnVan!!

BBM, I hope you will be back as soon as RL allow you to be.

I am wishing it was October to, LATE October!

After washing all my nappies/wraps for the final time today (sooo cute, having them all on the line in the ...gasp...SUN) I am now hoping I have enough small wraps. I have 14 wraps all together, a little lambs, 2 naturebabies (seem to be BTP), 2 cotton bums and 1 xs, motherease (not sure if rikki or airflow). These look small enough to go over the smallest nappies, the other ME wraps I have are all small, and the jump in size seem to be quite a bit. What do you think ladies or any recommendations?? My main stash right now is bimbles, they will be my workhorse nappies (hopefully)

babyjjbaby · 19/09/2008 18:11

thanks for looking anyway daisy

AnnVan · 19/09/2008 19:01

Hey everyone! Finally have my baby - he was 17 days overdue in the end but so cute. I must igure out how to upload some pics for you all to coo over. We haven't started using the cloth nappies yet, but I am looking forward to it. We are just going to finish the pack o pampers, and then roll on cloth stock!!
I haven't had time to catch up on the thread,so hello to all and will catch up later.

Heartmum2Jamie · 19/09/2008 19:04

Ohhh, can't wait to see your little man, I bet he's gorgeous! Congrats again!

LackaDAISYcal · 19/09/2008 19:36

congratulations again AnnVan and welcome to the world MiniVan ....we tracked you down via your "Is this it?" thread!

lollipopmother · 20/09/2008 15:49

I am finally home from hospital after giving birth to Elizabeth Annabel on Monday 15th September - she was 11 days late and took just as long in the labour as well! I've put a couple of pics up on my profile.

I'm still using the disposibles as well, they're very easy to use but they really aren't nice to look at at all, can't wait to get my Sandy's and Fluffles on her, they're going to look amazing!

AnnVan · 20/09/2008 16:26

COngratulation Lollipop!! We finally made it!!

Everyone wish me luck, I'm just about to wake up Sebastian, and put on his first cloth nappy! Decided I might as well, as I've run out of newborn outfits, which the cloth won't fit under because he's so big. So he's going in a 0-3 month outfit with a Teddy underneath! So excited!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/09/2008 21:54

congratulations lollipop . She is gorgeous and your nursey looks fantastic. Am very of how organised it all looks.

has the jaundice settled down now?

I hope both you and AnnVan are coping well with it all, I remember how clueless DH and I were when we got DS home. We just left him in his car seat and sat looking at him...

me "do you think he's too hot?"
DH "I don't know, do you think he's too hot?"
me "would i be asking you if I knew? Maybe we should take his coat off?"
DH "but what if he wakes up?"
me "should we feed him if he does?"

and so on and so forth for a few days. I'm surprised the poor mite got out of his car seat at all. We were terrified

MatNanPlus · 20/09/2008 22:47
