KOMH - You're not annoying me, please do carry on, I love looking at nappies!

AnnVan - Are you still here or have you spontaneously gone into labour before your induction on Sat?!

Can anyone tell me what the point of the fleece wraps are? The fleece is on the outside so I assume it is just for decoration?

lollipopmother · 11/09/2008 10:54

Free Kooshies AIO's just gone up on the FREE board.

Hi there! got few mins so thought I tell you baby used her first Sandy's ysterday!!! she looked so cute and was so surprised it fitted better than size 2 pampers(thought I made a mistake buying size 1 cos everyone thought she was going to be big...) will probably use them more from tomorrow as her cord dropped off and it was rubbing a bit on her belly button, but I'm so glad I can finally start using all those cute nappies!

BigBadMousey · 11/09/2008 13:34

Haven't got time to catch up on the thread atm but just wanted to quickly point MatNanPlus over here for a moment

Sunflower - Sandys rule! . Hope everything is going smoothly for you and your new addition - it goes so quickly!

ilovemydog · 11/09/2008 13:56

Hi Big Bad - where's a good place to get Sandy's? Babykind don't seem to have them in stock (but forgot to tell me a month down the road, after they debited my account!)

Just got back from London with DS. Absolute nightmare...

AnnVan · 11/09/2008 14:21

Hello everyone!
Still no baby, nor any sign that it has ANY intention of moving. Ah well. My ante-natal thread has suggested naming it Slothario, in tribute to its lateness. Mind you there's one other lady still overdue, and she's two days further on than me.
BBM - my nippa bamboos are Bambinex ones, will the nippas be ok with them??
Really annoyed with Royal Mail - their damn delivery men NEVER knock. They ring the (broken) doorbell and then leave. I missed the delivery of some fluffles today because of it. I've tried pputting a sign on, but the wind and rain demolished it. Oh well, maybe a walk all the way to the depot will be enough to shake this bloody baby down and out!

BigBadMousey · 11/09/2008 14:36

AnnVan - They might after a lot of use. Keep your receipt just to prove how long you have had them in case you have any problems early on. Don't worry too much though some people never have the problem. Maybe it is down to the way they are nippa'd? If they were awful I'd think they would have discontinued that fastening option (like tb did with nippa bamboozles

Ilovemydog Babykind did the same to me with my reusable breastpads but she was VERY apologetic and helpful and gave me an upgrade . Are you after more toddlerease bamboo? There are a couple of obscure places I can check for you but DS will not behave and lay still quietly looking cute while I type away (like a 15wo should ) so I'll get back to you. Was the trip worth it?

ilovemydog · 11/09/2008 14:42

Am after Sandy's Organics... Bamboo is lovely and soft, but think the organics are better for absorbency...

Still soo traumatized by whole London trip!

BigBadMousey · 11/09/2008 16:22

toddler size?

ilovemydog · 11/09/2008 16:32

yes, Toddlerease Sandy's Organic. May have that backwards....

BigBadMousey · 11/09/2008 17:05

righto - not sure I'll have much luck on the bargain front though but I'll have a go - I can find a fair few SM on offer (typical!)

BBM - I think that the bambinex ones only come in nippa fastening, although I might be wrong about this. The fibres have fluffed up a bit since I did the prewashes, so It might be ok. Before I did the washes, it was very smooth and flat. Funny, my sister's bamboozles were nippa fastening, and I don't think she had any problems with fastening the nappies. From what she says though, I don't think she was that impressed with the bamboozles full stop.

lollipopmother · 11/09/2008 18:58

What is the difference between the Fluffle and the normal Tots Bots, is it just the pop-in insert?

Yes ha-ha Knickers! But seriously ... there's more than that, right?!

AnnVan · 11/09/2008 19:04

Lollipop - the Fluffle is made of a different fabric - it is made of microfibre which is really absorbant and also dries superquickly as well. And yes it is very fluffy. The normal Tots Bots are either cotton or bamboo.

ilovemydog · 11/09/2008 19:06

Fluffles are way bulky though...

lollipopmother · 11/09/2008 19:13

I have two Fluffles, they are by far the nicest looking nappy I have. I have some Kissaluvs that I absolutely hate the look of, and I'm not impressed by the look of the Little Kiwis either.

I agree with dog though, the fluffles do look a bit bulky, but I think it's due to all their extra fluff!

BigBadMousey · 11/09/2008 19:20

AnnVan - nope they come in aplix or popper too. Some people found that nippa bamboozles were fine and were quite upset when they discontinued them but tb got so many returns they stopped. The bambinex are a different beast anyway - certainly way better than bamboozles.

Fluffles were quite a different design to the normal tots too - they were fleece lined. The fleece lining was left open at each end so you could stuff a booster inside. Like ilovemydog says though - seriously bulky but great for newborns and littlies who wear baggy trews and babygrows . There are actually two different types of fluffle fabric btw - the later version is supposedly softer.

ilovemydog · 11/09/2008 19:37

Ann Van - have you looked at Lollipop Bamboo? Best Bamboo I've tried, and come in colors!!

And quite slim fitting...

On the minus side, take awhile to dry...

BigBadMousey · 11/09/2008 19:46

Poor AnnVan - stop tempting her!

Lollipop bamboo are fab though - the best in their range IMO (although softees are lovely for newborns). They are so good I put DS in my only one even though it was pink

All this is stopping me hunt down your nappies ILMD!

knickers - just seen your reply in my sale thread . I'm not sure how many I have or how much to ask for them. Let me have a look at them tomorrow to check condition and get back to you about the price - how many do you want? I think I have six but you wouldn't need more than 4.
