MatNanPlus · 02/09/2008 14:30

Pitter patter Daisy?

How are things Knickers & what are ^aio's?

AnnVan could you not grind up the tablet and have with some jam?

needaholiday · 02/09/2008 14:46

If you don't want to pay for gaviscon there is a silimar product called peptac which is just as good. Otherwise regular small eating and avoiding buttery things (I managed a nice dose of horrendous heartburn after eating a packet of shortbread ) well they were small and it did save anyone else suffering.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2008 14:51

lol pitter patter even...there are a few imminent arrivals and the Knickers in October and me in November. It's all very exciting

MatNanPlus · 02/09/2008 15:00

indeed Daisy

AnnVan · 02/09/2008 15:56

Waaah!
It doesn't feel like mine is imminent at all! Last ew months at least I had due date to hold on for. Now nothing just wait for silly baby to get a move on. I'm bored!

Anyone, how do I pass this time?? I know I should be enjoying last baby free days, but I've had a HORRIBLE pregnancy, and I just want it to be over.

lollipopmother · 02/09/2008 17:36

MatNan - AIOs = All in one's (nappies) I think.

Essie3 · 02/09/2008 17:40

When were you due, Ann? My DS was born 11 weeks ago, and I was told to plan something for every single day after the due date. Nothing major, just 1 activity. I did, and contractions started in Morrisons ...

Or buy some really expensive tickets for something you really want to see. You'll be guaranteed to miss it...

A tip from a new mum - sleep. Loads. All day. And read books. Take long, long showers. Prepare elaborate meals and eat them slowly.

AnnVan · 02/09/2008 18:01

Essie - thanks. I've got a reflexology appointment booked for tomorrow. Maybe I'll see if MIL wants to do something on thursday. Have a sweep on Friday. maybe book to go out to cinema and restaurant on Saturday. hmm. At the very least that should take my mind of things i'll be gutted though if my sister gives birth before I do!

MrsJamin · 02/09/2008 18:18

lou222 - I think only Twinkle do Itti Bitti D'Lish - if you like the look of them, just buy one as I love them- they are the only nappy I have and just so delish! Miranda from Twinkle is ever so helpful - she runs nappucinos around the Reading area and it's great to see nappies up close just to understand how they fit and what they feel like. Info is on her site.

AnnVan - I use Bold 2 in 1 - not very eco in a killing-fish-type-way but eco in another way that means I can do a full wash with nappies every time as it includes a non-absorbancy-affecting softener.

I'm here, but you've probalby gone now.

DD's bottom is looking much better

After over a week of nothing much happening with it, I've switched to plain canesten cream (I had been using daktacort), letting that dry in and then a layer of bepanthen over the top and it's clearing. I didn't even think it might be fungal as it didn't look as fungally as it normally does when she gets it iyswim.

Gosh, it's quiet on here today. there must be someone out there looking for some nappy chat

sunflower78 · 03/09/2008 12:50

Hi Daisy, would love to chat about nappies, cos that would mean that baby's here and I've tried them!!! Had 2 hours of very regular contractionsand was contemplating of adding one sandy's in the hospital bag, but then everything's stopped, just occasional contractions . going insane as I keep on seeing all these lovely nappies I'd like to try, but not excuse to buy them!

AnnVan · 03/09/2008 13:01

Sunflower - I also am still babyless. I feel like my bump is going to explode if it stays in there anylonger. No sign of anything. zilch. I'm going to end up being induced, I can just see it.

lollipopmother · 03/09/2008 14:06

AnnVan - When is/was your EDD? Mine is tomorrow and feel exactly the same!

Sunflower - Are you planning on using your real nappies straight away? I have been advised that it's better to use dispo's for the first couple of weeks because the initial baby poo is like tar. I luuuuurrve my nappies and I certainly don't want to get any stains on them so early on, so I've packed 16 dispo's in my nursery bag. 16 sounds a lot but I've been told that 8 per day is realistic, so I thought I should pack 2 days worth just in case.

Lollipop - I packed dispos as well because of the meconium(it was hard enough getting it off DS's bum, so I guess it'll be even worse on nappies..), but in those early hours of this morning I think I was in a sort of trans from lack of sleep and illusion I was going to have baby on time and not 2 wks late like last time, that I had all sorts of weird thoughts...

lollipopmother · 03/09/2008 16:11

KOMH - £10 for 10 nappies?! Surely even if they leak after an hour they are still good value at that price!!

Sunflower - Pheew, I had horrible visions of you putting on a gorgeous Sandy's only for it to come off black 10mins later!

KOMH true, it's quite pasty; I've got the dispos now, so I might as well use them, if I really can't resist once I'm back home with baby (is it ever going to happen?!?) might try first the 2ndhand sandy and see...
