@yesthatsright I'm in exactly the same boat, we just found out today and I'm in total shock! It's our first month ttc and we only dtd once so we really didn't expect it! I can't get my head around it at all, so different the second time when you know what's in store!

yesthatsright · 30/12/2021 07:42

@Kj1010 hope isolation isn't too bad. Only another few days to go! I wouldn't test my baby either, I don't think there is any need to if he is isolating with you.

Aw congratulations @calipoppy Smile I think it will be a lovely age gap. We were the same, we started trying in the hope of a positive in early 2022, it was a massive surprise to get it first time. I don't want to get ahead of myself because it is still early days but it is hard not to get excited 🙊

calipoppy · 30/12/2021 08:38

@yesthatsright I know I was just lying awake last night imagining it! Need to stay calm for a while yet! Also planning to eat all my fave foods the next couple of weeks in case my sickness is as bad as last time!

Congratulations to those pregnant with baby number 2, I love the idea of Tommy having a little play mate but it's not going to happen. It's been a huge shock to the system having a 17 year age gap between babies, the broken sleep is draining (yes Tommy still wakes, multiple times 😭 any tips?).

@Kj1010 my husband woke up with flu symptoms this morning, fever, aches, congested, etc so did a lateral flow test & instantly got a positive result. Our eldest has gone to his girlfriend's house to avoid it, so dh has moved into his room, hopefully we can avoid catching it. He only had it in October so isn't happy to have caught it again.

Did everyone have a nice Christmas? What toys were a hit with your Lo's? Tommy's favourite is his drum kit, thanks dh for buying the noisiest gift going & he also loves his wooden cleaning set. He spends ages sweeping & moping, it's so cute, must make sure I keep this up because his big brothers get away with doing absolutely nothing!!

@Kj1010 Dh felt much better within 24 hours, just has a sore throat now. We tested Tommy last night, just swabbed a tiny bit inside his nose & his came back positive too, luckily myself & Tommy only have a runny nose. The teens are still testing negative!
My main concern is my grandad, he lives with us & I'm still having to prepare all of his drinks/meals, I'm just wearing a new mask everytime I do anything for him & washing my hands before & during, plus minimising how long I'm in his room. Really hoping he doesn't catch it from us, he's 96 & has refused to have his jabs.

I don't think there's really much you can do to speed it up, he will walk when he's ready x

Kj1010 · 03/01/2022 18:38

@kkr168 aww bless I do hope baby isn't suffering from covid I refused to test my boy as we are isolating anyway and his always with me so hasn't been out for like 3 weeks now I hope your grandfather does not gwt it but unfortunately there is that chance I don't blame him in not wanting jabs if I'm honest and I didn't mean a way to force him to walk he is so ready just don't know how to encourage him but yes he will walk wen his ready x

Sorry to hear those are feeling ill, I am so sick of covid now 😭 between that and all the other winter illnesses my wee man has had a constant runny nose/cough. Can't wait for spring time.

We didn't get much for Christmas as we knew friends & family were buying birthday presents. Don't mind this year as he doesn't really understand 🙊 he loves his trike for outside and a little car that he can sit on in the house. It has a handle at the back that he can push it himself or he can sit on it and we push him.

He has really taken off walking the past few days, I think it takes time to build confidence as he has been cruising around furniture for months. But finally taking proper steps on his own now. Me and his dad would sit on the floor and encourage him to walk between the two of us, then we would move further back as he got better. It definitely helped his confidence but like anything they all get there in their own time.

kkr168 · 04/01/2022 13:07

@Kj1010 Tommy's only had a lateral flow, didn't see the point in then doing a PCR, we know he has it so what's the point. I only put it the tiniest bit in his nose, he's very snotty so just scooped a bit out, he found it funny 🤣

Me & Tommy still only have a runny nose, so hoping we've avoided any really bad symptoms. Dh is getting better every day but again his symptoms, other then day 1, haven't been to bad.

We did like @yesthatsright just use plenty of encouragement when they walk around furniture, stand un-aided, etc. Enjoy the non walking stage whilst you still can, Tommy's so fast, I can't sneak out of the room quickly anymore. By the time I'm at the baby gate, he's run up behind me, I can't even go to the toilet without him wanted to tag along 🤣
He's also learnt to push toys upto the sofa, climbs up & makes a bee line straight for my cup of tea, all whilst having the biggest, cheekiest grin on his face.

Kj1010 · 19/01/2022 09:08

Morning all well we brought lenny some soft trainers and that was it he started walking more must of gave him the confidence to do it lol so now he half walks and half crawls still but its more progress how is everyone doing @kkr168 I hope you are all better now from covid

OP posts:
kkr168 · 19/01/2022 11:06

Morning @Kj1010 yes we're all fully recovered, mine & Tommy's never progressed from the runny nose luckily & we avoided passing it onto any other household members.

Yay, go Lenny, he'll be running around in no time.

Tommy had his jabs yesterday, I didn't realise there'd be 4 of them, I was expecting 2 for some reason!! He was crying all afternoon & ended up going to bed at 4pm, he woke a few times during the night crying & saying 'ow' (at least that's what it sounded like) poor little boy. He's woke up much happier this morning but full of cold again.

We started the milk ladder with Tommy & are currently on step 3 of 12, he failed at step 1 (malted milk biscuit) last time we tried but seems ok this time. Hopefully he has outgrown his milk allergy 🤞

Kj1010 · 19/01/2022 14:26

@kkr168 aww bless him we chose not to vaccinate our boy like the rest as we hav vaccine damaged relatives glad that covid didn't become worse for use and didn't spread to anyone else and yes I'm sure he be running around in no time he certainly a good climber climbs up everything lol

In need of positivity right now been crying my eyes out I've noticed on my right boob dimpling at top and under the nipple managed to get the guts to ring doctors see im one that won't but to gwt told I have to ring back in morning as they only doing daily appointments or I can ring 111 the receptionist wasn't very compassionate as I'm sobbing down the phone and I stupidly googled and I have all the symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer Appaerntly which is a rare aggressive cancer I'm absolute shitting myself and worried I'm gonna die and have my beautiful kids and my baby 8 can't shake the feeling I'm gonna get told its cancer 😭😭😭😭😭 what else could it be I am big busted and saggy so wonder if its saggy skin etc well I'm telling myself please be that

Fredsgirl19 · 19/01/2022 21:27

Please don't panic - google and self diagnosis is not the friend. Could it be stretch marks?? I know it's easy to go straight to worst case scenario but please stay calm and let the doctor decide x

Kj1010 · 19/01/2022 21:52

@Fredsgirl19 I don't think it's stretch marks and I'm trying not to panick and stay off google and to stop looking at it as its getting worse in my eyes see I do believe I suffer severe health anxiety but instead of going to doctors I sit an worry stress out panick get myself in such a state but this has freaked me out severely enough to ring up just hoping I get seen tomoz by doctor even though I will panick if they send me for a scan just to be safe I can't feel in my eyes anything that not normal in boob but I also don't get what they mean by thickening mass etc

Just popped on to see how everyone was getting on. Congratulations on the new pregnancy announcements.

@Kj1010 how are you my love?? Did you get an appointment?? Anxious for you so I can't imagine how you are feeling. Sending positivity and prayers your way

Kj1010 · 22/01/2022 11:45

@Nic2908 my appointment for the doctors is weds I a lot calmer as I've looked and it seems the dents underneath boob i can't see them now and the more I look at the front ones I really don't no if infact they are dimples or just my baggy skin as mine are very saggy personally i would just like to have them chopped off so it takes the chance away if I cud I'd have everything removed just can't wait and scared r anxious for weds

Evening ladies well had my gp appointment and the doc cudnt feel any lumps and what I must of thought was dimpling as she did a thorough test exam over both my breasts that much so they ache a bit now she has referred me to breast clinic as I have lumpy breast tissue so just being safe even though she said she is confident it's not naughty and more to ease my anxiety as I broke down crying my eyes out I have to make a separate appointment for the anxiety issue I'm just a little relieved that what I thought was lumps isn't and I was shown how to perform self examination aswell so so far so good now for the 2 week wait scary

OP posts:
Jwl45 · 26/01/2022 18:55

@Kj1010 aw u poor thing.
So glad you've managed to get your appointment and go and sort it.
Lumpy breast tissue is quite common.
I thought I had a lump a few years back ... On my non lumpy tissue side. 🤷🏼‍♀️
As it was, all was ok.
As for now boobies.... They do look a bit diff I think due to breast feeding. I know I'm not breast feeding now but after finishing, they were a bit more puckered .... Well the one as I was only using one by the end.

Hope you're mind is more at ease now. Sending you hugs

Hope all the new pregnant ladies are all well and that you're all enjoying these new milestones we are seeing every day 🙂x

Kj1010 · 26/01/2022 20:00

@jw45 ty yes more relieved but will panick when scan day arrives that's just me will defo make appointment to address anxieties etc

Hi all. Just checking in. Hope you're all well....time is flying by.
Can't believe it's 15month check time. I have a right little chatterbox.... She doesn't stop talking...I wouldn't have it any other way though. She's very funny I must say! Loving this weather we are having at the moment. Hopefully will be nice all week to have a few trips to the park! She loves the swing!

Pinktruffle · 24/03/2022 12:38

Hi all, it's been a while! Great to hear your daughter is doing so well @Jwl45. My son is a total chatter box too. He is a a bit late on his physical development, only just crawling at 16 months, and he does some gliding but seems to struggle with putting weight on his hips. We are waiting for him to be seen by a paediatric doctor but the waiting is list is currently 30 weeks. The health visitor is coming to do an assessment on Monday so hoping they can do something to speed up the referral.

I've also recently found out I'm expecting number two which has come as a bit of a shock after years of infertility and needing IVF for my son. We weren't even trying so this has come out of the blue. Very early days yet so we are not getting too excited, I am very grateful to be in this position though secretly a little terrified of having 2 under 2!

Jwl45 · 24/03/2022 19:21

@Pinktruffle ah huge congratulations. How amazing. Esp after what you have been through to get your first little one. It will be wonderful. They will grow up best mates.... mostly ha. My friend has 2 very close together .... And they are fab! She loves it!
They all develop at different rates don't they. The HV check will put your mind at ease. Xx

Kj1010 · 24/04/2022 11:28
