@1990shopefulftm she normally just has the one big poop a day but this was a total shocker. All I feel like I've done with her in the week is nap, feed, clean poop, play, nap, clean poop...just hope this tooth comes through so the nappies can stop 🙈

Ohh does he? Maybe once he gets more solids it'll be alright! It's gonna be fun to see what they like and what they don't like haha

1990shopefulftm · 27/03/2021 21:22

@Strawberries4days I hope the teething is over soon for you, it feels like such a dragged out process.
We re thinking of mostly doing fingers foods, he's generally quite happy sat with us in his highchair at dinner time so I think he d rather feed himself a bit but it means it might take him time to eat a lot I suppose.

DressingGown87 · 27/03/2021 22:27

@Strawberries4days I don’t know if they are teething related or weaning. But we average 3-5 dirty nappies a day at the minute. She was 10-13 a day in the first few weeks 😬, due to CMPA. But reduced to 2 a day once we switched milk. I go through so many nappies! Hope the tooth appears soon, it’s not nice for them.

@1990shopefulftm maybe take a while but it would be good if he went straight to finger food. Lots to experiment and different flavours to try!

@DressingGown87 oh god 10 nappies! I feel bad complaining about just 4/5 nappies 🙈 glad she's gotten better, that must have really drive you nuts! We haven't started weaning yet, planning to this week with porridge. Thanks, maybe it'll come end of this week!

1990shopefulftm · 28/03/2021 10:46

@Strawberries4days I m hoping it ll work, my sister and I had issues with food textures and we were both weaned on purees so want to give finger foods a good go to try and avoid it.

DS has outgrown his infant carrier so thought we d use a trolley today and of course we couldn't as he's over the weight limit for the baby Seats and not strong enough for the toddler ones, I wish him being a bigger baby sped up his sitting as it's holding us back and I just don't feel safe with his infant carrier

krissy12 · 28/03/2021 22:26

@1990shopefulftm do you have a car seat? ive gone to the shops and just sat the car seat in the trolley. it's not ideal because it takes up space but means you dont need to worry about the trolley seats

1990shopefulftm · 29/03/2021 00:08

@krissy12 when I say infant carrier I mean his car seat, he's had to go in a group 1 now as he got too tall.

krissy12 · 29/03/2021 04:23

@1990shopefulftm sorry I thought you meant like a sling. does he have good head control and have you tried him in the trolley seat? only reason I'm asking is my lb can only sit on his own for a few seconds but we put him in a swing a couple of days ago and he sat in it for ages without falling over because his legs were through the holes. you could even roll up a blanket either side of his hips for more support

1990shopefulftm · 29/03/2021 07:54

@krissy12 the back on the trolley seat seemed a bit too low for him as he can't sit long unaided unfortunately, but a blanket could solve it I hadn't thought of that.

Ladies who bought a nursing chair, any recommendations please? I've decided now is the right time to get one as my little one will be transitioning into a cot soon. I slowly started looking for a nursing chair, and so far some look stylish but not particularly comfortable, others comfortable but not particularly stylish. And those who seem to have both have an astronomical price tag 🙈 Which one did you get, if you ended up getting one, and do you like it?

@Mc3209 got a standard cocktail chair from Argos in his room,I think it could work for breastfeeding.

A bit of a personal question for you all, what's your situation with weight loss post baby? I was 12.5 stone just before his birth and 11 stone 1 week pp.
I ve managed to get down to 9 stone 9 but haven't lost any more weight in a couple of weeks.
I ve accepted I won't lose another stone to get to my pre pregnancy weight and I m quite grateful for actually having clevage unlike before so not trying to shift that.
But it's a few more pounds on my stomach that I m finding tricky now, I hope the answer isn't just sit ups as I ve never done one in my life 😂

ChlOeWh · 30/03/2021 18:18

Hi girls, just wanted to know if this is dribble/teething rash? Just as the spots have white heads.. any advice for soothing/treating is very much appreciated 🥰

DressingGown87 · 30/03/2021 23:06

@Mc3209 sorry we don’t have one, hopefully you can find something soon which works.

@1990shopefulftm I have manage to get just over half a stone from pre pregnancy. But feel like the weight is all gathered more around the stomach, so don’t feel comfortable in my body / clothes yet. I’ve started some gentle exercise (crunches / sit-ups) but going to push the diet and walking too (done 15k today). I don’t know if it’s the answer though.
@ChlOeWh awww I’m not too sure, but Paige had 1 the corner of her mouth this morning (spot with white head). Another little boy I met up with today had one too on his chin. Another of the mums said it’s probably dribble / sweat spots. As their pores get blocked quite quickly (especially in warm weather). I used a cold flannel on paiges and it went, but it didn’t seem to bother her. I know that’s not much help.

1990shopefulftm · 31/03/2021 00:14

@DressingGown87 I ve gotten new clothes so feel a bit better but yes my stomachs the issue and diet doesn't seem to be helping anymore. 15k is brilliant, not sure if I quite hit 5 some days.

Mc3209 · 31/03/2021 09:51

@1990shopefulftm I was similar weight going into labour, and similar weight to you now. My pre-pregnancy weight was around 8 stone. Weight loss has slowed again, but to be honest, I'm not really dieting at the moment (I don't want to do anything restrictive whilst breastfeeding). I'm trying to avoid junk, and go for 1 hour - 1 hour 30 min walk daily weather permitting. I don't like how I look, mom pouch and all, but I've accepted I will have to wait a long while to sort myself out.

@ChlOeWh not sure, could be. Perhaps run it by your HV/GP?

*my weight at laboir was similar to yours

OP posts:
1990shopefulftm · 31/03/2021 10:10

@Mc3209 I am being very restrictive but it's not working for the mum tum at the moment, hopefully it's just a plateau I ll get over at some point but who knows if that's even possible with how big I got at the end of the pregnancy.

GhostWorld · 06/04/2021 08:29

Are you guys doing naps at specific times yet or just following wake windows? At the moment we're doing wake windows and I'm wondering if I should start waking baby up at certain times so that it's a bit more fixed. We had a couple of awake hours in the night which meant that he didn't wake up this morning until 8 (I know, I won't complain!) But this pushes all of the naps out of sync

Strawberries4days · 06/04/2021 09:16

@GhostWorld we're just on wake Windows but she normally naps at 10-11 then she would either do a 2 hour nap from 1pm or 30 min nap. Then she might ha e another one at 6pm for an hour or 30 mins then bath at 7pm and bottle at 8pm

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2021 12:31

I let him naps when he wants, he always goes to bed between 9-10 pm and wakes about 8/9 regardless of the previous day's naps, he didn't want to nap at all yesterday and slept great at night.
He has his last bottle around 8 but the other 3 when he wants them really,we do weekly baths as we both suffer from exczema so don't want to over do it

Mc3209 · 06/04/2021 13:29

I generally don't wake up a sleeping baby, unless it causes issues with night sleep, which it hasn't so far.
He settled into his own routine, without me having to do much about it. Wakes up between 7.30-8.00am, nap 11.30 - 12.30 ish, nap 16.00-16.45 ish, nap 18.00-18.30, with bedtime 20.00-21.00. Sometimes he drops the evening nap or the afternoon nap, or shifts times a bit. I just go with the flow.

OP posts:
DressingGown87 · 06/04/2021 15:19

I mainly go on awake windows too about (2-2.15hours), but generally falls around the same time. we are still on cat naps 30-40mins, but sometimes she will throw a 2hour surprise in there. Awake 7-8am, then bedtime at 7.00-7.30.

Strawberries4days · 06/04/2021 17:21

I've somehow jinxed myself with the naps. Been struggling with her wake Windows for some reason, just refusing to nap when she's obviously tired!

She's found a new pose today during tummy time. Balancing on her belly with her arms behind her. She looks like a penguin sliding down a hill😂 anyone else does this?
