@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn we're just coming off a series of split nights so I feel your pain. I mostly dealt with it by sobbing that I would never sleep well again while DS squealed in his dance party Confused. Googling suggested it's either an issue with nap/bedtime scheduling or developmental phase. DS has slept OK for last two nights without changes so reckon it's the latter. Hang in there - no phase of baby sleep seems to last that long. But it is so so exhausting Flowers

DressingGown87 · 19/03/2021 10:14

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn hope this phase passes soon and that you got some sleep. Are you trialing the Nutramigen formula? This is what Paige is on for CMPA and seems to have helped.

Does anyone else’s little one have a dummy and wake for it in the night? Paige will wake at least once, but some nights it can be several times. She will settle once she has it back. I don’t know whether to go cold turkey.

For sleeping bags we use the Snüz pouch, are they are quite good as have a seperate zip for nappy changes.

@Strawberries4days I also changed to the cot, as she was constantly kicking and scratching the sides. She likes to starfish 😂

Strawberries4days · 19/03/2021 10:27

@DressingGown87 I had to take the screenshot on my phone camera of her like that😂 they look so comfy, actually jealous of how much of a good sleep it is😂🙈

Yes, nutragimen. were not fully on it yet as he hates it but on a 60% mix. Hope it helps cos it's been a bloody slog

Mc3209 · 19/03/2021 22:04

Re sleeping bags, I like Purflo ones. Zip is very conveniently located for easy access to nappies.

On a lighter note, Alf is 19 weeks tomorrow and was millimetres away from rolling over. He's such a big lummox of a baby though 😂

It reminded me of his older brother who didn't really crawl. He just used to sit and pull things closer using his mat or feet.

GhostWorld · 20/03/2021 11:17

What baths are everyone using? I want to get one of these- www.mamasandpapas.com/products/angelcare-soft-touch-bath-seat-5155bh100?gclid=Cj0KCQjwutaCBhDfARIsAJHWnHtYXTUcHaiaRLLWxJAxhGcVB8SBVqB5_qcn0Jnjg2WgzBjb45HncXUaAhiNEALw_wcB -
but it says from 6 months (DS is 20 weeks), he doesn't want to lie back in his shnuggle bath anymore but isn't ready to sit up on his own yet

Mc3209 · 20/03/2021 11:41

Mine is still OK in his Nuby bath (which is very similar to the shnuggle).

1990shopefulftm · 20/03/2021 12:54

@GhostWorld we got a toddler schnuggle bath, it's a two person job to bath him as he can't sit unaided yet but as he's 22lbs using a seat in the normal bath wouldn't work brilliant for him

DressingGown87 · 20/03/2021 15:12

@GhostWorld we having a swivel seat (which is very similar) which we use sometimes for 5minutes. Paige can sit unaided / little support though. But if she’s tired I use a bath support seat which is in half recline in the main bath. But like your DS she tried to sit up constantly in it.

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn hope it works soon, and things get easier. Ahhh bless him, their little ways of getting what they want with minimal effort sometimes is so funny.

Strawberries4days · 23/03/2021 07:58

I'm curious of how many ounces of milk everyones babies are on? DD slept through the night 8pm to 7am for the second night in a row but she's only on 5oz every 3 hours a day so she's dropped from 30oz to 25oz. Tried to give her 6oz this morning but still stopped at 5oz. I'm gonna keep on giving her 6oz today to see if she can drink past 5oz but if she's dropped her night feeds (not holding my breath) then do you think this is too little for her age?

DressingGown87 · 23/03/2021 08:16

@Strawberries4days Paige is on 28-35oz per day. She has 5 feeds, I make 7oz sometimes she finishes it, sometimes she will have 5/6. So always offer 7. She has a few teaspoons of food at tea time. She dropped the night feed in December and the late evening feed in February, so will do 7/8pm-7/8am. She’s continued to put in weight, actually jumping to the 90th centile (was 25th), so has to be weighed at baby clinic now. I think providing she is still gaining weight, and happy, enjoy the sleep. Just offer a little more milk, at alternate feeds / bedtime and see if she wants more.

Strawberries4days · 23/03/2021 08:26

@DressingGown87 thanks will do. Sophia's not been weighed since December which was the last time since i saw the HV and was on the right track. She is quite happy, chatting away and battering her toys while I type😂 not worried about her losing weight cause I can see she's quite chubby

Mc3209 · 23/03/2021 08:41

I do a rough weight by weighing myself with and without the baby, then compare it to the growth chart in their red book. Not the most accurate, but gives a gist.

DressingGown87 · 23/03/2021 08:41

@Strawberries4days haha they batter them don’t they, and want everything now. Is she still rolling and trying to sit? We are the same she has chubby cheeks ☺️ We have to monitor weight due to medication dosage. I think how active she is in the iunperoo she will loosing a few pounds, wish I could fit in it 😂

Strawberries4days · 23/03/2021 09:32

@Mc3209 we tried that but I don't think it works very well. Might ask the HV to pop up at her 6 month mark to weigh her and to go over a bit more on weaning with us!

@DressingGown87 oh yes she's very proud of her tummy to back roll that tummy time is impossible now haha we're currently trying the back to tummy again, she was so close but kept getting frustrated! I love chubby cheeks on babies, they're the cutest! Awww Paige loving the junperoo, it's the best thing ever!

1990shopefulftm · 23/03/2021 10:41

@Strawberries4days normally 5 8oz bottles or he ll have 4 bottles and one will be 12oz sometimes. He is roughly 22lbs now though.

Anyone else's baby not rolled yet? He can't seem to crack that he needs to do something with his arm so just stays lying on his side a lot.

Sls668 · 23/03/2021 10:56

@1990shopefulftm my LO rolled from front to back quite early on but doesn’t even attempt back to front at all!

1990shopefulftm · 23/03/2021 12:06

@Sls668 I ve been trying to help him a bit but no luck yet. His co ordination with his hands is brilliant, he just needs the rest of his body to catch up.

DressingGown87 · 23/03/2021 13:39

@Strawberries4days I know she loves it’s, drives me dizzy watching her 😂

@1990shopefulftm Paige did front to back a few weeks ago, then give up until last week. But she rarely does it, but hates tummy time. Not quite mastered back to front. She’s more inclined to sit up, and can do it unaided for 5 minutes unless she tries to get something far away, or sits in her ring.

Does anyone’s baby insist on doing their own bottle? I got her some handles for the bottles, as she just wanted to do it herself.

What tog sleeping bag for spring / summer? These are up to 6 months she has room left, but ideally need to order some more in 6-12.

1990shopefulftm · 23/03/2021 14:16

@DressingGown87 he much prefers being upright but he can only sit for a few seconds. He's started grabbing his bottles with both hands now, I know I could get handles but wasn't sure if he was a bit young to do it

DressingGown87 · 23/03/2021 16:17

@1990shopefulftm she’s on my knee for milk and help at the end of the bottle, as she gets to a point where she can’t tip. But with water cup or Nuby nibbles she will do it herself in the highchair.

1990shopefulftm · 23/03/2021 17:13

@DressingGown87 i'll let him be more independent with his bottle then :)

GhostWorld · 23/03/2021 20:12

I'm jealous of your long sleeps! Mine is still waking every hour and a half more or less, apparently formula vs breastmilk doesn't effect their sleep but anecdotally it really seems to!

My LO is rolling back to front but not the other way, he finds it really funny for about 30 seconds and then gets really cross haha

1990shopefulftm · 24/03/2021 00:54

Ds wanted a bottle at half past midnight for the first time in a while, takes us to 48oz in 24 hours.
He wouldn't usually take more than one over 9oz bottle in a day but looks like I need to order more 11oz bottles and see what happens.
