Joie Tilt (I think) here...

krissy12 · 03/03/2021 16:41

@DressingGown87 I was looking at the joie 360 spin aswell but it only lasts until they are 4. there is a joie all stages which although doesnt spin lasts until they are 12 although I imagine it will be too grotty way before then and need replaced

DressingGown87 · 03/03/2021 23:16

@krissy12 Yea I thought the same, and that in a few years I will be ready for another. I think the benefits of a swivel, outweigh that too. As trying to fight 18month old twins into fixed seats, was hard work for years, so don’t fancy repeating that with DD.

@1990shopefulftm Thank you. That’s good he has now balanced out, did you start early weaning?

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn Thank you, seem Joie do quite a few good seats, and one of the most popular manufacturers.

@DressingGown87 no we haven't, hes just decided 8oz bottles are enough for him most of the time. I m thinking we ll start baby led weaning at the end of next month.

1990shopefulftm · 04/03/2021 10:40

2nd hand jumperoo arrived today, he doesn't really know what to do but as he's so tall I ve had to put it on the 2nd setting so not sure how old he ll be when it doesn't fit anymore

Sls668 · 04/03/2021 13:16

I always forget my baby is one of the youngest of the group so some of you are nearly 2 months ahead of us. She’s only just 4 months so no weaning plans as of yet although if I’m eating fruit I do let her have a lick!

GhostWorld · 04/03/2021 15:06

@Glooorb I know I'm late I just wanted to say bf is so hard so well done on getting this far, I was told never quit on a bad day! I'm starting to introduce a bottle of formula now as I'm getting a bit of feeding aversion especially the evening feed so if dp can do that I think it will help although DS is currently refusing it!

DS is 4 months now and I think teething is what is causing these awful grumpy afternoons (I hope it's teething because I dont know what else it could be!), anyone found any teething things that help? I've tried a fridge teether which doesn't last very long, and some teething gel which he spits out ha

BlueLilyLilyBlue · 04/03/2021 15:07

My DS is the same @Sls668 - hadn't even thought about weaning yet! I probably ought to at least consider getting a high chair first.

Sleep regression woes just continue on. 2.5 hours last night of growling squealing kicking and being wide awake at 2am. When he finally did crash out he woke up 40 minutes later. Shock The wonder weeks app promises me there is only 13 more days of leap 4 to go so I'm going to kick off if it continues past there Grin

BlueLilyLilyBlue · 04/03/2021 15:10

@GhostWorld Ashton and Parsons teething powder have helped my DS a bit - I rub it on his gums. The other powder Teetha did nothing for him. Same with the fridge teether, he mostly ends up sucking his hand or my hand. Mostly I've resorted to calpol when he's really suffering.

DressingGown87 · 04/03/2021 15:24

@1990shopefulftm I’m sure he will learn. Paige was unsure at first and didn’t know what to do. Now she loves rocking back and forth and jumping.

@Sls668 Paige is only 20 weeks (but prob one of the older babies) I was advised by her dietician and GP to wean early. But it’s so hard, as I can’t give her dairy (and seems everything contains it!!)

@GhostWorld I second the ashton and parsons teething powder + dose of ibuprofen when she is really bad (seems better than calpol).

@BlueLilyLilyBlue hope it gets better soon.

I think we have come out the other side of regression, so there is an end for anyone still suffering. We have kind of settled into a routine of 3 naps (over 30minutes thankfully).

1990shopefulftm · 04/03/2021 15:30

@DressingGown87 yes he ll get there. Naps for us are now 1 2 hour one and then maybe a half an hour one and that's it really, very lucky he's happy for me to do some chores whilst I sing Disney songs at him

Sls668 · 04/03/2021 16:04

@DressingGown87 can she just start on basic fruit and veg?

krissy12 · 04/03/2021 21:48

so dh has just tested positive for the dreaded covid ahhh 10 days trapped indoors with a 4 month old

DressingGown87 · 04/03/2021 22:47

@1990shopefulftm that’s good! Paige is happy now if I do jobs, unless I Hoover she hates it or use the hairdryer.

@Sls668 we have done veg week, and fruit week so far... seems to have a real dislike to anything sweet. I went to asda today and found some diary free things, just trying to make my way through the allergen tables.

@krissy12 OH dear hope your all ok. Do you have a garden you can enjoy at least?

krissy12 · 04/03/2021 22:50

@DressingGown87 thank you we are both getting tested tomorrow I've had the first dose of the vaccine so hopefully that helps

1990shopefulftm · 05/03/2021 09:48

@krissy12 hope you re feeling okay. I ve woke up with a temperature so ordered a home test, I ve only gone to the supermarket, pharmacy and library but feel fine now so hoping that I haven't caught it. Our gardens a mess but at least we have one.

krissy12 · 05/03/2021 13:59

thanks @1990shopefulftm I'm ok so far had the test this morning hopefully get the results later tonight. hopefully you have a negative test

Glooorb · 05/03/2021 14:18

@krissy12 oh no! Hope you test negative. Hopefully the weather will be less cold so you can enjoy the garden

@1990shopefulftm fingers crossed that you also test negative!!

Oscar is having his first bout of illness - a upset tummy and diarrhoea. I think it is a result of putting everything and anything in his mouth. I don't think there is any indication that it is serious (apparently common in babies) and he seems happy in general, but I just can't help but worry 😢 poor little lad.

1990shopefulftm · 05/03/2021 15:25

@krissy12 hope you have your results soon. I was paranoid about taking DS to the test centre so mine should arrive in the post tommorow, never thought I d be grateful having the test done in the hospital so I know what I m doing.

@Glooorb we sterlise bottles for months but babies still feel like anything else should be eaten anyway.

krissy12 · 05/03/2021 16:49

@Glooorb thank you i know hoping it stays dry. hope LO is better soon I think this is fairly common I know you probably are but try make sure he is getting plenty of milk they can get dehydrated quickly

@1990shopefulftm thanks. we went to the drive in one so it was fine the staff stood back and gave instructions and I only had to get out of the car to go into the back to do DS test

GhostWorld · 05/03/2021 20:36

Thanks for teething advice those who gave it.

I'm just sat here wondering why can't they make silent chocolate wrappers for those currently under a sleeping baby?!

krissy12 · 06/03/2021 07:17

we are negative thankfully just another 8 days of isolation to go

DressingGown87 · 06/03/2021 21:04

@krissy12 That’s good news, I hope the next 8 days go quickly.

@1990shopefulftm hope your feeling better.

@Glooorb aww poorly baby. I hope he is feeling better soon.

I worry about Paiges dirty nappies constantly, they are always so runny, have no consistency most of the time (sorry TMI). Surely they should be some thickness? I’m completely unsure what normal is.

@GhostWorld 😂 hope you managed to eat the chocolate. My trick is open a full dairy milk, remove the packaging in one, then eat it all.

Sls668 · 07/03/2021 02:32

I had my first illness with baby this weekendi had my Covid jab on Friday at lunchtime and, wow, I was SO ill! Daddy has had to step in and look after us both all weekend so far! I only expressed two bottles thinking I’d just feel a bit off it on the afternoon but I need to get a weekends worth stashes away for the second dose/any other illnesses

1990shopefulftm · 07/03/2021 13:12

@DressingGown87 I was only ill for a couple of hours, just got cabin fever waiting on my results and DS is refusing to fall for pushing the pram in the living room now to get him to nap.
