@Sls668 aww hope your feeling better soon, and hopefully the second dose won’t have the same side effects. Hope DP is taking good care of you both. Out of interest was it the Oxford or Pfizer? I’m dreading the day I’m too poorly to look after DD.

@1990shopefulftm hope you don’t have to wait too long for a result.

1990shopefulftm · 07/03/2021 14:08

@DressingGown87 just came back negative now :)

Sls668 · 07/03/2021 14:52

@DressingGown87 it was the Oxford one, I had it Friday lunchtime and still feel terrible now!

We’ve hit the dreaded 4 month sleep regression mixed in with separation anxiety. I don’t think I’ve had 2 hands to do anything for nearly a week now. Last night he didn’t go to sleep until 3am and tonight he’s pinched, screamed, scratched, thrown himself around - anything to not go to sleep. I’m exhausted and finding it so hard not to lose it when you’re covered in scratches and bruises from a 4 month old 😩

1990shopefulftm · 07/03/2021 21:38

@FirstSurprise001 hope it passes quickly for you, could one of those feeding necklaces be helpful give them something to grab rather than you?

krissy12 · 07/03/2021 22:19

@FirstSurprise001 I dont know if you already use it but we swear by white noise. my lb hasn't been too bad with sleeping the past week or so but there is a lot of fireworks tonight unsettling him so hes been the same not sleeping and throwing himself around but as soon as I put the white noise on he calms right down and drifts off. it is also saving our lives trying to get him down for indoor naps

Mc3209 · 07/03/2021 22:24

@FirstSurprise001 oh that's tough. I second a white noise thing. Keep repeating 'It's a phase', it will pass.

I've got mastitis. I feel so rough. Have temperature and everything. My left boob is on fire.

DressingGown87 · 07/03/2021 23:12

@FirstSurprise001 I agree white noise and bright red lights. My house resembles something from
Amsterdam (glad I’m not on a Main Street) it actives the sleep hormone and makes them settle. Hope it passes soon.

@Mc3209 aww know hope your feeling better soon. Sounds painful.

SamK93 · 07/03/2021 23:25

Hi ladies hope you're all well, just checking in. Caught up with all the messages, definitely in the same boat as most of you with babies going through similar things. Noah is 5 months old tomorrow, no idea where time and gone!
@DressingGown87 with advice from GP he's told me to think about introducing solids now as it may help with his reflux. Even though I have a 5 and 9 year old I have forgotten everything! I think I may start with the baby rice or porridge, once a day, starting with late afternoon/evening.

Any of the babies getting slightly active? I definitely think Noah is a lazy one! Even though he can sit unassisted for a few seconds he hates it when I sit him up. Spends most of his time on the play mat wriggling around, he's started rolling on to his side the last few days back and forth but no belly to back or back to belly roll yet.

krissy12 · 08/03/2021 09:48

got tested again yesterday because I started getting a bit of a cough and I'm positive! starting isolation again going to need a lot of wine

1990shopefulftm · 08/03/2021 10:26

@Mc3209 that sounds painful, hope you ge got some antibiotics and plenty of pain relief.
@SamK93 no rolling yet but boy does he love kicking things, he goes to sleep by kicking like crazy in his cot whilst we hold his hand.

Got a place on a rhythm time class next month, can't wait to see other mums regularly.

DressingGown87 · 08/03/2021 13:13

@SamK93 that’s why we had to start early, they said it might help her reflux. We did baby rice to begin with as it doesn’t contain dairy. Then I’ve been doing mushed up fruit and veg, which she hates. Ordered some pouches now, in hope I can introduce some finger food at 6months. I do 5pm ish after nap and between feeds. Ahh I’m sure it will all come back to you, hope your enjoying some peace with the other two back at school. I just have a bum shuffler.

@krissy12 aww no! Lots of wine and Netflix! I’ve had my test this morning as I have a school survey to do this week for work, and feeling slightly drained. Hoping the result doesn’t take too long.

GhostWorld · 08/03/2021 20:16

Does anyone's LO have a fondness for pooing in the bath? My DS did it for the first time on Thursday and now is doing it in every bath haha. It's a massive palava as I got him out and had to empty and refill the bath to wash him off, we use a shnuggle bath. Hes teething so everything goes in his mouth at the moment, it's a real wrestle to keep his hands out of his mouth long enough to get them clean! What do you do if it happens? I'm a bit nervous to use the shower because of temperature control.

krissy12 · 08/03/2021 22:14

@GhostWorld omg my lb does this and we have the same bath. we either take him out and wipe him down on the changing table or hose him down with the shower while the other one empties the bath down the toilet and refills it but it's such a faff

Mc3209 · 08/03/2021 22:21

My lo hasn't done it yet, but I am sure the day will come!
He tends to have nappy blow outs in his bouncer. Without fail. It is his Poop Chair.

@FirstSurprise001 we are in the four month sleep regression too though Oscar is actually coming up to 5 months next week... he has decided that nap times are not a thing anymore. I've read that even in a quiet place for a little while will help to recharge their batteries so if he is not going down, I don't force the issue. Otherwise I just end up rocking a crying baby for an hour getting more and more frustrated. Though thank goodness he still sleeps ok in the night, fingers crossed it stays that way!

@Mc3209 oh no I'm so sorry!! How are you feeling? Hopefully the antibiotics have kicked in now and you are on the mend! It's one of my greatest fears to get mastitis and so everything I get a blocked duct I'm rather anxious...

@SamK93 I think Oscar is quite lazy. On tummy time sometimes he just lies there chewing his hands and not really rocking to try to roll or anything like that... I hope developmentally he is ok. I know different babies develop at different rates so trying not to worry too much...

@krissy12 oh no, I hope your covid symptoms are not too bad. Take care and get well soon x

@GhostWorld oh dear! Oscar hasn't done a poop in the bath - I hope he doesn't get any ideas!

Oscar is still a bit poopy. His diarrhoea started last Thursday and now he is still doing three poos a day. At least they are only little "sharts" and not full blown full diarrhoea so hopefully he is on the mend.

Mc3209 · 09/03/2021 12:26

@Glooorb 'little sharts' 😂 I am glad his poops are more regulated now. TMI Rafa does a daily liquid yellow abundant poop, plus sometimes a second less abundant one. He is doing fine otherwise, so I am not particularly worried about it.

Mastitis actually is resolving reasonably quickly, I am feeling a lot better now. The worst bit about it is the fever and how completely run down you feel with it. That took me by surprise. Rafa was doing a good job on suction duty, so that helped to speed things along, thankfully.

Has anyone thought about babies sleep when the clocks change at the end of the month?
He tends to go to sleep for the night when we go to bed between 10-11.30 so i m thinking does that mean he'll likely want to go to sleep at 9 from then on, his naps aren't particularly set times at the moment i just try to get him to sleep when he starts showing signs of tiredness really.

Sls668 · 09/03/2021 15:00

We are well and truly in the 4 month sleep regression, it’s exhausting! She’s got her 16 week jabs tomorrow too so I imagine it’ll only get worse!! Tummy time is a thing of the past here as she just flips over onto her back!

GhostWorld · 09/03/2021 20:26

I dont want to speak too soon but we've just had 16 week jabs and not had a meltdown, some tears yes and very sleepy/grumpy but not the hour long inconsolable crying we had last time! Such a relief I've been anxious for days

Sls668 · 10/03/2021 08:42

@GhostWorld that’s good to hear! How did they get in through the night?

GhostWorld · 10/03/2021 11:05
@GhostWorld that’s good to hear! How did they get in through the night?
It was okay, he was very restless and I tried to give him calpol at about 10pm which was a bad idea because it upset him and took a while to settle. To be honest it wasn't much worse than a normal night so I'm relieved! Hes got a bit of a temp today but generally seems okay in himself!

GhostWorld · 10/03/2021 11:06

Hope yours are okay today 🤞

1990shopefulftm · 10/03/2021 11:31

Anyone elses baby do a very good pig impression Confused

DressingGown87 · 10/03/2021 21:41

@GhostWorld aww the dreaded poo in the bath. It’s not pleasant, Paiges have always been diarrhea so it makes a mess. She has a bath seat in the main bath, so I usually take her out, hose the bath down, and then her with the shower. Glad the jabs went ok.

@Glooorb glad Oscar is feeling better. Paige is lazy with tummy time too spends most of the time eating her hands or trying to lick the floor / mat.

@Mc3209 glad your feeling better.

@Mc3209 I’m just going to put Paige to bed at her normal time of 7.00/7.30, and try and adjust her naps / awake windows during the day, which aren’t really set in stone. Aww no pig noises, but she likes to high pitch squeal a lot.

@Sls668 hope the jabs went ok
