@Glooorb sorry to hear your having a rough time. You’ve done so well to keep going despite all your struggles, and your doing an amazing job. Just take each day as it comes, and do what’s best for you to get the right balance. Hope your ok. Sleep deprivation and anxiety don’t mix well.

@BlueLilyLilyBlue glad you got some sleep. DD is the same sometimes jusy prefers to be on her own to settle, think I stimulate her more trying. Seems so backwards sometimes.

@1990shopefulftm lots of mums will be in the same position, so try not to worry.

DD started at her Childminder’s yesterday. She absolutely loved playing with the other children. She was singing along at music time with her tambourine. I cried watching the video of her so happy. She also did all her naps with no trouble. She’s also done 2 nights now in her cot. My baby is getting soo big.

@mc3209 that sound interesting, something ive not heard of. Let me know how you get on.

1990shopefulftm · 26/02/2021 11:37

@DressingGown87 glad Paige enjoyed the childminders, music time sounds lovely

1990shopefulftm · 26/02/2021 18:07

Gave DS paracetamol then ten minutes later asked DH to give him ibuprofen but he didn't read the bottle, so now our baby is double doses on paracetamol, rang 111 as I knew that's the right thing to do and waiting on a callback but I m petrified someones going to take my baby away from me.

@glooorb sorry to hear you are struggling hope you feel better today. no advice as ff but thinking of you

@Mc3209 is it makaton you are learning I want to do this to

@1990shopefulftm I'm sure baby will be fine no one will take him away from you. accidents happen and as you said you have done the right thing

1990shopefulftm · 26/02/2021 18:27

@krissy12 fortunately he weighs that much they aren't worried, I m so angry with DH I don't think I ll trust him to give him medicine again unless I don't have a choice.

krissy12 · 26/02/2021 18:36

that's good hes ok. i would be the same but tbh your husband has probably got such a fright aswell he would hopefully be extra careful if he was to give him it again

DressingGown87 · 26/02/2021 22:52

@1990shopefulftm aww glad he is ok. Accidents happen, and you have done the right thing by seeking advice. They would have known it wouldn’t have been intentional, you both sound lovely parents.

1990shopefulftm · 26/02/2021 22:59

@DressingGown87 thank you, seems to be no harm done, he's eating normally and very cheerful. Grateful he's such a big baby.

Mc3209 · 26/02/2021 23:17

@krissy12 it's similar, aka enhanced gesture training, and it's actually simplified ASL. My understanding is that makaton is more formal and is a step above enhanced gesture training. Apparently little ones can start to sign from 8 months on average. Ive just started today and it's actually quite a good fun to do. Very curious to see if it works.

@Mc3209 I work in a nursery and a lot of the babies go to baby sign classes, mainly Makaton or similar. We also have a lot of children with additional needs so use a lot of sign. It can work well if you’re consistent although I’ve not known of many babies who use sign to communicate their needs, they mainly just do it in singing.
We did have a preschool group who used BSL as 2 children had hearing aids. Staff were really consistent with it and the kids were amazing at it! I find it really hard to think and use my hands at the same time!

krissy12 · 27/02/2021 08:24

@Mc3209 that sounds good I hadn't heard of that one my friend is a nursery teacher and uses makaton so I only knew about that will need to look into it

1990shopefulftm · 27/02/2021 13:54

Bought DS a little steering wheel toy and he's absolutely in love with it. Thinking of getting a second hand jumperoo with how tall he is as he tries to jump on my legs a lot which is a bit uncomfortable with how heavy he is.

DressingGown87 · 27/02/2021 22:26

@1990shopefulftm it’s so nice when you see them enjoying and interacting with toys now. Paige loves her rattles and maracas. We have a jumperoo and she loves it. Limit her time in it though, and she has a cushion underneath as she is quite short.

1990shopefulftm · 27/02/2021 22:30

@DressingGown87 it is lovely to see them excited by toys. He's the height of the average 6 month old at least so I m hoping his toes would touch the ground on the bottom setting.

Mc3209 · 01/03/2021 22:07

I thought I got away without post partum hairloss... Well, I was wrong. Worried I might go bald at this rate! I don't have the thickest hair to begin with 😬

OP posts:
krissy12 · 02/03/2021 03:48

@Mc3209 I'm the same finding hair everywhere I'm moulting worse than my cat

Glooorb · 02/03/2021 04:53

@Mc3209 same!! So much hair everywhere :( I'm just hoping it will stop soon - does anyone know how long this goes on for?

Thanks so much to those who replied to my last post about my mental health and difficulty in breast feeding 💕 we are still breastfeeding at the moment and it's been improving so I hope it continues this way... touch wood

1990shopefulftm · 02/03/2021 09:49

@Mc3209 I cut a good 3 inches off my hair on Sunday, figured less of it will fall out as I m fed up of it falling everywhere

Mc3209 · 02/03/2021 20:31

I wish it was leg hair that would be affected that the head ones 😂 Was thinking that when epilating my legs today.

We’ve just booked on to face to face baby sensory classes. I’m so bloody excited to get out of the house and to do something new!!

Mc3209 · 03/03/2021 12:07

@Sls668 congrats! When do you start?

Ladies, what do you do with your breastfeeding pillow you no longer use? I stopped using mine, as I find it easier to feed without one now he is bigger.

OP posts:
DressingGown87 · 03/03/2021 13:04

@Sls668 bet it feels so nice knowing your getting out, and a bit of normality is on the horizon.

@Mc3209 I don’t have one so not much help sorry

Is anyone weaning? If so how much are you giving them a day? And what kind of time? We do one meal around 5pm now, which is between feeds.

Also has anyone else looked at next stage car seats? Trying to find one she might prefer, especially as I have some long distance journeys coming up, once I’m allowed to get away.

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2021 13:48

@DressingGown87 because DS is so massive most of the car seats won't rear face long enough for him so I m thinking of getting a britax two way elite one as it ll rear face to 25kg, after that he can have a forward facing booster seat I think

DressingGown87 · 03/03/2021 13:59

@1990shopefulftm thank you. My sisters both have the same problem, one nephew is 10wks younger than DD and he is 23lb already (being tested for it), the other is 2weeks old and 11lb. I’ve been looking at the joie spin so can turn her. Need to find some solution even if it’s just for short journeys. I have two boosters and a FF seat from my ex step DC, but can’t use them for a long time yet.

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2021 14:05

@DressingGown87 I ve heard that Joie seats are great, apparently the I spin 360 has very good safety testing if you ve got isofix :)
his weight gain isn't as crazy fast as it was, he's about 21lbs now and he's finally settled on about 40oz of milk a day.
