@1990shopefulftm @Mc3209 thanks guys!

On a better note, baby is 14 weeks and rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time today! It’s now her new trick that she does every time I put her on her tummy. I guess tummy time is not going to be a thing for us anymore!

Mc3209 · 17/02/2021 22:43

@1990shopefulftm I honestly have no idea. It's very slow, but I will take that.

@Sls668 congratulations to your little girl! My wee one rolled from tummy to back once when he was a out 13-14 weeks, and hasn't done it again since. He is doing this weird thing where he puts his arms really wide/behind him and/or lifts them off the floor so he is balancing on his belly with his head lifted. I don't know what to make of that. He is trying to roll from the back to the front, he can get to the sideways position and start flipping the leg over, but he doesn't yet quite shift enough weight to roll over.

We re now on 5 sometimes more 8oz bottles a day (he took 11 Oz one time this week) and mostly 9-12 months clothes, when on earth is a babies growth supposed to slow down Confused

krissy12 · 19/02/2021 17:07

@1990shopefulftm were the same with the bottles it's getting a crazy amount

krissy12 · 19/02/2021 19:49

just worked out hes had 44oz today Confused

1990shopefulftm · 19/02/2021 20:04

@krissy12 he's had 36 but he ll probably get past 40 by the end of the day. Only two months till we start weaning and the milk bill might go down.

ChampooPapi · 19/02/2021 20:20

Yes one of my twins had 40 ounces today, she's only fifteen weeks so she is piling on the podge. She sleeps well 7 till 6 ish though so I wouldn't dream of reducing the amounts. I'm dreading weening twins, weening is such a bore anyway but times two it's going to relentless. Food or bottle in an endless cycle, god help me !

krissy12 · 19/02/2021 20:20

I know think they are going to love weaning. I did speak to the children's nurse the other day and she did say feed him as he wants it dont try and hold him off and she told me that 8oz was fine

1990shopefulftm · 20/02/2021 14:50

@ChampooPapi I m excited to get him into cooking, he ll be getting a mini chefs hat for his birthday

ChampooPapi · 20/02/2021 15:09

@1990shopefulftm it's so wonderful when they are weened and have teeth and you can start actually cooking for them real 'human' food 😆

FirstSurprise001 · 20/02/2021 21:53

@1990shopefulftm going back a few messages - I was stuck at a certain weight for ages and have just the last two weeks started losing again. Have you had a look at the body coach on YouTube? A good one to start is the 7 days of sweat - 30 seconds on, 30 seconds rest for only 20 minutes a day. I started doing that probably 3 weeks ago and I’ve lost a solid 2lb every week even having a takeaway on the weekend! Worth a shot whilst the baby is napping if you can!

Probably TMI but is anyone still suffering with constipation post birth? It’s been 16 weeks and it’s still bad. Can’t take stool softeners because I’m breast feeding and feel like my only option at this point is to eat prunes for every meal 😂

1990shopefulftm · 20/02/2021 21:58

@FirstSurprise001 I tried his postpartum workouts but I m very badly coordinated so found it tricky, will see if any other videos are easier.

Lactulose is safe for breastfeeding, it's basically just sugar. My constipation mostly stopped after I stopped my BP meds but I had a bad few days this week so I took a couple of doses of lactulose and had some fibre one bars, they re low calorie snacks as well so if it doesn't sort your constipation it's almost like a diet cake.

krissy12 · 20/02/2021 22:17

@firstsurprise001 I second the lactulose. I was prescribed it twice a day when I was in hospital and was attempting to BF which the midwives knew so it must be safe

krissy12 · 20/02/2021 22:18

was also prescribed it when pregnant

Really struggling here. This 4 month sleep regression is a nightmare and I feel like I've been hit by a bus. I'm two weeks in. The last time I was asleep last night was 2:05am Sad

DS is waking every hour at least and sometimes he just will not go back to sleep. From 2am last night he just refused and nothing we could do helped. The last two nights I've maybe had 2/3 hours broken sleep altogether. I think he's also teething very badly which is not helping although no actual sign of teeth yet. He started trying to roll a couple of days ago which is probably also part of it! Napping is also sometimes completely off the table although every time he is asleep I am straight off to bed too to try and get every scrap of sleep I can. It means I'm not really leaving the house now either as I need to sleep rather than push the pram. His vaccinations also really messed him around and he has no appetite at all, which doesn't help as he's never full. He's started thumping his legs against the cot when he's waking up which wakes me up too Sad

My friends all just take great delight in telling me their children never ever slept and why should I expect anything else. My MiL thinks I need to do CIO method and move him to his own room but he's so so tiny. He desperately needs me to help him sleep and I can't even imagine leaving him to cry. He can self settle - he has done a couple of 3-4 hour stretches in the last few weeks so I know he can do it, it's just riding out this awful period.

Strawberries4days · 21/02/2021 13:51

@BlueLilyLilyBlue oh god hope this sleep regression stops soon for you! Hang in there, hopefully there's not long to go with it. Could anyone look after him while you can get a power nap?

DD has started the leg thumping too! We thought it was really bad gas but last night I thought she pooped in her crib after thumping and a bad smell. Turned on the light and she was wide awake smiling. Checked her nappy and nothing there!! This leg thumping thing must be an attention thing 🙈

Glooorb · 21/02/2021 13:56

@FirstSurprise001 how much water are you drinking? Sounds like you are breastfeeding right? My water intake when i was exclusively breastfeeding per day was 3.5L at least, sometimes even 4 litres.

I also take a glass of warm water first thing in the morning to relax and get things moving.

Glooorb · 21/02/2021 13:58

@BlueLilyLilyBlue I'm sorry to hear and I can sympathise. The lack of sleep is real in motherhood. I haven't known anything like it. I do wonder how I survive off so little sleep.

Sorry no real advice - just want to say hang in there x

BlueLilyLilyBlue · 21/02/2021 14:45

@Strawberries4days thanks me too!! Glad to hear of a fellow leg thumper Grin. Definitely think you're right about attention! DH took DS out today to his mums so I could get a couple of hours kip. DS did not sleep at all though despite MiL's efforts so at least she knows what I'm up against now rather than just dismissing.

BlueLilyLilyBlue · 21/02/2021 14:47

Thanks @Glooorb - at least we have an outlet here. Wishing you sleep Flowers

Mc3209 · 21/02/2021 20:33

My baby has been so grumpy today. Who knows why. Very hard work!

OP posts:
1990shopefulftm · 22/02/2021 14:59

We social distanced had a walk in the park yesterday with a friend who also has a baby, I don't think DS knew how to react to seeing another baby.

There's a few days between them so it's so strange seeing the crazy size difference, got the measuring tape out today and DS is growing about a cm a week so barely fits on his playmat now bless him.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 22/02/2021 15:14

I have a grumpy (nearly) 4 month old too. Rubbish naps, grumpy in between feeds, hard to entertain. Waking 3 times a night and takes aaaaages to settle.

I thought the second baby would be easier. How wrong I was Confused

Sls668 · 22/02/2021 16:30

@1990shopefulftm our HV measured baby on Friday as they were monitoring her weight as she kept dropping centiles. After a little panic on both sides she measured her and we found she’s only on the 2nd centile for height so is officially overweight rather than underweight 😂 I think she’s only 59cm if I remember rightly, I’m only 4ft 10 so there’s no surprises that she’s a shorty!
